“Protego!“ Emily shouted, blocking the first spell that came at her. She heard Ray cast the second and yellped, not having time to block it. She dashed quickly out of the way. 'Focus Ems, focus!' she told herself. She turned back to face Ray, a frown on her face. So he going to play like that, was he? - casting two spells at once. Maybe Ems was wrong about him being a gentleman. She readjusted her posture again and glared at the boy. “Langlock!” Emily’s signature spell, followed by “Tarantallegra!”

Ray quickly orders the eagle to circle around him, the badger to stay on his side and the snake and the lion to distract Emily by making the impression of attacking her, as he prepares some more spells.
As soon as his animals started moving , Ray casted "Stupfy! Impedimenta!Expelliarmus!" Hoping that at least his last attack would be the one to hit. I wonder how you will escape that

Amelia tried hard to smile up at the Slytherin standing over her. Even though the curse was removed, she still felt a little woozy. Closing her eyes, she began to count hippogriffs ... 1 ... 2... 3. The sixth year then took a long swallow before opening her eyes to hear him say 'we won. I don't like to lose.' Typical of Josh. As much as she wanted to get up herself, she took his hand anyway to allow him to help. "Fine then, we both won. You did well too," she told him, giving her first genuine smile.

As Amelia was now standing she could see more faces in the room, and recognized her new Ravenclaw friend standing by herself. She sighed and looked to Josh, "Shall we?" she asked, but didn't wait for a response.

"Rhian!" the green eyed badger called over. "I just finished dueling with Josh, if you'd like to have a go at either of us." She waved her friend over to join them as she thought, or maybe both of us.

Emily smirked as Ray struggled to counter the Langlock jinx she sent his way. Her smirk faded as she it became apparent the boy knew non-verbal spells. In only his third year, that was pretty impressive. Her eyes widened as he cast Oppugno. And not one, not two, not three, but four different animal appeared! Where on earth had the boy learned that!? She doubted that even some of the professors could cast such a spell. She watched with horror as the eagle started to circle him, and the snake and lion came towards her on the attack. She had to act quickly without thinking about what she was doing too much ….Something Josh had been trying to teach her very recently. She dashed away as Ray tried to stun her, instead his spell hit the lion, knocking it unconscious. She used this distraction to cast “Finite” at Ray, making all the animals disappear. “Protego!”, blocking the second. The third hit, however, the force of which sent both Emily and her wand flying in different directions. She landed with a crash, hitting her head on the floor. She groaned. ‘Urgh.. Beaten by a Hufflepuff… how humiliating.’ Emily was a little concerned as to how the boy had learned to duel like that when he had only just started his third year at Hogwarts. She stood up, rubbing her head and smiled weakly at Ray. “Well done huffie.” She said graciously and nodded at him. She went over to pick up her wand, shaking her head slightly. Emily had NEVER had such a short duel in all her 12 years..

"You were very good as well... I mean dashing my four animals with one finite... I mean please I can't even do that and I'm related to Helga Hufflepuff... Who ever taught you to duel was pretty amazing himself." Ray said as he approched the girl conjuring two bottles of water sending one to the slytherin girl.

Emily smiled at the boy. He really didn’t need to flatter her - she had duelled badly. And her Finite would have eliminated all the magical effect of Ray’s Oppugno - it was a very simple spell. “Thanks Ray. You’re pretty good yourself.” She told him and then accepted the water gratefully, opening it and taking a long drink. “Duelling is definitely thirst making work” She laughed. She looked back at Ray and raised an eyebrow, ’Related to Helga Hufflepuff? ..Poor kid’. She grinned at him again before making her way back over to the cushions and hoping someone more evenly matched would ask her to duel.

Ray started looking around form people to duel, hoping someone would come and challenge him to a duel. Slytherins... I still can beat them all...Come on people, I need much more than that he thought as he drew his wand again practicing some wand movements.

Emily now focused her attention towards Trelawney and the new kid with the striking eyes. Maybe she could pick up a few tips just by watching them. She bloomin' well needed to after being beaten so mortifying badly by the hufflepuff. She watched as they sent spells flying back and forth towards each other, rather than bombarding each other with lots of spells at once. It was rather like watching a tennis match, but with pretty colourful lights ...and some yelling and swearing mixed in too.

"Wipe that grin off your face," She said with confidently, almost as if she'd already won... she needed to talk to this boy, his spells were creative and like nothing she knew, she could better her own skills with the knowledge of his spells. "I'm not out yet." She knelt by her wand. The hand that was pinning it down covered most of it, but some was still exposed. Her fingers touched the exposed wood of the wand.

"Vexatio!" the disembodied hand shook and let go of her wand, disappearing. She picked it up, pointed it at him and with a mischievous smirk she cast "Pilosus!"

Kai entered the room, she quickley spotted Onikami and walked over to him "How about a duel" she said with a smirk.

Jack just sat there with no partner.He didn't know anyone.

Turning to see Kai I smile at her question and respond,
"Sure, I'd love to duel you. It'd put the spells I've learned to use." I pull out my wand and ready myself, awaiting her action.

Kai took her stance "Expelarmis!" she yelled as a blast of powerful light burst from the tip of her wand.

Jack sat there.He watched everyone else duel but he had no partner.

I shout in quick response,
"Protego" I watch as the shield only resists the spell and goes kaput. I shout, "Ignus Cygnus" and watch the fiery swan spell rocket towards Kai.

Gwen grinned and helped Anna up. "You probably will!" she said. "Good duelling!"

Ray noticed Gwen a gryffindor girl that he knew from the hogwarts express. He moved next to her and said "Hi maybe you don't remember me Im Ray James Hufflepuff... Want to duel?" Ray asked finally hoping the girl would accept.

"Oh, sure," she said. She bowed to Ray and waited for him.

Ray bowed back and took out his wand. "Ready whenever you are ready?" Ray said as he pointed his wand at the girl waiting for her to cast her first spell.

Darn, she thought. He wants me to cast a spell first...clever.

"Expelliarmus!"

Evangeline Hermione looked around at all the duels and waited for some one to ask her to duel.

"Protego" Ray muttered deflecting the expelliarmus spell. He got into his attacking stance and muttered "Petrificus totalus" Lets see what you are made of!!" Ray thought to himself.

Jenny looked around at all the duels and waited for someone to ask her to duel. "Hi...I'm Jenny Garden..."

"Protego!" she said quickly, prepared with that charm.

"Impedimenta!"
