Torie looked around the room, her eyes slightly glazed. All around her, pairs of students were casting and defending, trading skills and tricks in an attempt to disarm their opponent. She could find no solo students, so instead she watched the pairs with interest, trying to determine the strategies that were being put into play. Hopefully someone would be available to pair with her soon.

Josh Had heard that spell all to many times. It was Rae's favorite."Incendio." He said as the ropes started to catch on fire. he turned to Ameila as he sent another spell at her." Locomotor Mortis!" He saw it come out of his wand, but before he knew it he was tied up from her curse. Cryse. He looked to see if it had hit her. If it didnt he would be in loads of trouble because a cutting spell was escaping his mind. | |

Apedemak, having watched several duels begin in earnest, bid his time waiting for groups to pair off. Claudian was tempting but Prefect Trelawney had not yet paired off. Surely the Professors would not be opposed to him taking multiple duels. “Prefect Trelawney, I would like to take you up on your offer. It would appear I am in need of a dueling partner.”

And, he loved him again! A chorus of liberated voice rang out in Claudian's mind. HaHA! No dueling for him tonight. Which was just as well. He was bad at it and would never get any better no matter how he practiced.

Amelia watched as her spontaneous rope spell actually worked; she giggled as Josh tried to burn the ropes off. Too bad she didn't see his spell coming toward her. Just when she was about to let her guard down and celebrate for winning the duel, her legs bound together. Before she knew it, she tripped and was on the ground. How embarrassing! "Nice one," she said as she rolled over into a more comfortable seated position.
"And I guess that means we've both won... or lost?" she said, as she muttered finite to get rid of the curse on her legs.
