The still life portrait slides back into place behind you and you find yourself standing in a warm, welcoming underground room. The room is decorated in the Hufflepuff house colours, and gathered around the large fireplace are several huge, plump sofas which resemble fluffy clouds. There are lots of comfortable armchairs scattered around for you to rest your weary bodies in.

A long table sits in the brightest part of the room (torches are lit all day long) for the students who would rather do their homework in here.

Portraits of past well known Hufflepuffs hang on one wall, among them are Cedric Diggory and Nymphadora Tonks who died in the dark days of You-Know-Who's power. Remember and honour them as you walk to or from your dormitories.

Two perfectly round, barrel top doors are positioned on opposing sides of the common room. They both open to reveal underground tunnels which will lead you to your common rooms; boys on the right, girls on the left.

"I'm not working as hard as I should be," He said, "Though if I do get lower marks I may feign sickness just to get out of it."

To tell the truth, he had hardly worked on his assignments at all, his mind had been occupied in other places. Though he couldn't admit that it was, and the grey bags underneath his eyes were acting as if he was studying hard, so he left it there.

A crazy urge came apon him and he said, totally out of the blue.
"You know, you look really nice when you laugh, you should do it more often." He regretted it the moment he said it.
"You know, I don't think I have been getting enough sleep." He muttered to his embarrassment.

"I really want tonight to last for ever," Vannie sung quietly to herself as she swayed to some silent music that seemed to be playing in her head. She opened the book that was lying in her lap and traced her finger over the pictures that were in it. For some reason she was reading a book about Japan.

I hope studying too hard in order to win our bet isn't the cause of your sleeplessness because in that case, I'll have to cancel it," she said with a worried look on her face. She had placed that bet for fun and she definitely didn't want Sebastian to miss on his sleep because of it.

He thought he recognised her from somewhere but didnt know where from. His memory hadnt been too good all day and he was struggling to remember the smallest of things.

Once, he almost killed me, because I was in his study with him at the time and he was getting cross with me. It's his way of punishing me if I do something he doesn't approve of."

He closed his eyes, there, it was out.
"Though it always haunts me in my dreams, along with my brother, Tobias."

She sighed then said "As for your father, I know I can't tell you what to do but please just stop thinking about him... you should leave your concerns behind while you're at Hogwarts. Think of it, you will live at school until you turn 17, only going home at summers, and then you can rent a house and live on your own. As for your brother... live every single moment of your life happily for his sake. Think that the happier you are, the happier he is. Because he's watching you."

Sebastian looked up from his lap. "Uh, I've never really given it much thought," He said when she asked him about his dream job, "I've always been interested in getting a job journaling for the Daily Prophet, seemed interesting.." He ran a hand through his hair, making himself look slightly presentable. "I like finding out about things before others.."
He smiled, "We could try and get some jobs together." He laughed.

Looking up from her reading Vannie saw Alastor. Closing the book she jumped up from her seat and wandered over to him.

He looked at her, desperately trying to remember her name and deciding he would just have to stick with using "Miss" again. "Hello Miss" He said nervously, guessing she would tell him not to call her that

"Besides, I've always wanted to travel abroad and work there," she said and started drawing a Hippogriff on a blank piece parchment she found stuffed in her Charms book. She loved drawing, especially animals and landscapes.

He blushed "Ok sorry Vannie." He was glad that she had reminded him. he couldnt help having the memory of a goldfish. Well goldfish porbably had better memories than him but at that precise moment he didnt think discussing goldfish was going to do any good so he decided to ask "How are you?" instead.

Vannie smiled as she looked at the book. She nodded. "Yeah. My boyfriend from Japan you see and i thought i better find out some information about it"
