| | Beginner/Remedial Arithmancy Review You enter the Arithmancy classroom to see neat and exactly-positioned rows of wooden desks and chairs, the latter of which have cushions in a myriad of colors and textures to match your comfort and liking. The walls are filled with thick wooden shelves, on which rest a seemingly endless number of Arithmancy texts and the occasional Ancient Runes and Divination reference. For those students who studied Arithmancy last year, the room looks very much the same, as does the woman awaiting your arrival.
When you look to the front of the room, you see a tall, blonde-haired woman sitting behind a desk made of dark angelique wood in an excessively large and comfortable-looking chair. On the desk is a small placard reading "Professor Macadrian A. Shackleton - Arithmancy," as well as a large stack of thin, bound booklets, an assortment of papers and quills, and several copies of the class textbook. She smiles at you as you enter the classroom and gestures for you to take a seat. As you glance up to the boards behind and to the sides of Professor Shackleton, you see a list of Arithmancy terms to be covered in today's review session: Quote: 1. Origins of Arithmancy
2. Pythagorean Number System
3a. The Core: The Life Path Number
3b. The Core: The Expression/Destiny Number
3c. The Core: The Heart's Desire/Soul Urge Number
3d. The Core: The Personality Number Have you done the reading yet? If not, you may want to glance over the appropriate chapters while you're waiting for Professor Shackleton to begin the review. |

| Marco raised his hand, "Was it Mr Arith Mancy?" He could have a laugh. Since this class was about numbers, nothing of interest.

| Wowza! "Pythagoras!" Willow said after shoting her hand to the air. "And I think that his greatest contribution was the fact that he believed that everything was related to mathematics, and the more vibrations and object had, the more positive it was" She said quietly. Then again, she didn't felt so certain about this last part of her answer.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Rickey Hampton Fifth Year | Hearing the question, Curt couldn't help but slightly laugh out loud. He was really weak at this subject, and not having a clue as to what that question was really showed it. He hit is head against his textbook, creating a quiet thud. After, he perked back up and was ready to try and redeem himself.

That stupid confuse subject...
Her thought where interrupted by Marcos voice.
She turned her eyes to the older boy while she bit her lower lip, trying hard not to laugh.

"Pythagoras is credited with the birth of Arithmancy, with his greatest contributing being the system he created, in which the numbers 1 through 9 are symbolic representations of the nine stages of the human life cycle."

Anna raised her hand again, realizing that she had forgotten to mention Pythagoras' greatest contribution. "Adding to my answer earlier, Pythagoras' greatest contribution was that he figured out that the patterns and vibrations of everything that exists creates unity. This is what actually led to Arithmancy."

Professor Shackleton smiled and replied in turn, "You know, I've heard Pythagoras liked to be called that from time to time, but only by the closest of friends. He even had T-shirts made with that across the front, if I'm not mistaken."
Professor Shackleton continued, getting the class back to reality, by using her wand to cross off the first two items on the list on the board, explaining, "There is obviously a lot more detail to the Origins of Arithmancy and the Pythagorean Number System. I expect that you will use your textbook as a reference to become more familiar with these topics but since our time is limited, we will move on to the Core. Who can tell me what the Core represents and what the four components of it are?

| "The Core is made up of Iron," Marco frowned, that had nothing to do with numbers. More that Earth Sciencey stuff he had read about. He really should've read that text book.

| The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas. Ari shrugged, at least she'd gotten it half right. She decided to try again, knowing if she did she'd get one right eventually. Raising her hand she replied, "There are four parts to the core, Life Path, Expression/Destiny, Heart desire/Soul Urge and the Personality numbers. The core is the center of everything, it is basically the best part of all of us." She had no idea if that last part was right, but shrugged and waited.

While scrawling down notes in the new journey, Apedemak rolled his eyes at the various answers. He couldn’t help himself and raised his hand. “How can Pythagoras be credited for the birth of Arithamancy when he was born circa 569 B.C.E. and Arithamancy was used to divine that Achilles would defeat Hector during the Trojan War which occurred around 1250 B.C.E.?” |
