Gwen felt her face get hot, and the tips of her ears burn. I'm blushing?!? I never blush. "I know!" she said. "That was totally not my fault. I still don't know what happened!" She dropped her voice an octave. "Now I feel like I'm going to get a reputation for being some sort of troublemaker, and I'm really not. I just don't take any nonsense from anyone, 'specially if I don't deserve it." "Pop is carbonated, so it gives me a stomachache. I prefer butterbeer, it's smoother. Although vanilla-flavored pop is nice. You should try it. Are all your family purebloods?" |
"Yeah, they are," Excelsior said. "It must be interesting coming from a family that isn't all pureblood, because you get more diversity in your life. Does that make sense? Sometimes I wish I knew more about muggles. And I think you're right about the butterbeer, this stuff is just too - too fizzy I guess. But it is interesting!" He smiled. |
"Well, family gatherings are rather interesting," Gwen said. "You get to sort of have both sides of two worlds, and you notice that sometimes the two bleed into each other." She paused to take a big bite out of her burger. "Mmm, char-broiled..." She wiped some ketchup from the corner of her mouth with a napkin. "Like for example, my mum works for Witch Weekly as an editor, and an aunt of mine works for some Muggle publication or another. And we have a telly! We don't watch it a good deal but it's nice to have." She paused. "There should be wizarding television!" |
"That would be pretty cool!", Excelsior said. "I've only seen the telly a few times, I don't know a whole lot about it, but it seems pretty neat from what I've seen of it, kind of like magical in a way. I'm surprised nobody's done that yet but I guess with all the other stuff we have, they must figure we don't need it or something." |

She chuckled and nodded, "I agree completely." she said in responce to Kohans' last answer, "I often find myself wanting to spend more time with my cat than magical creatures. Though sometimes I swear she's more kneazle than muggle cat." she chuckled, shaking her head, "I'm assuming you've had an encounter with a creature before?" She asked curiously. |

Chuckling along with Ariana, Angela nodded once. "More kneazle than muggle? What makes you say that?" She inquired. She had never really been one for pets, save for her owl, but she was curious. With another laugh, she spoke again in response to Ariana's question. "Oh, yes, in the form of a goat. First, he chewed on my books and then tried to chew on my skirt. What a racket we made! Though it did seem quite amusing afterwards." |

Ari frowned, "Well, ginger has this way of knowing who's good or evil." she began, "and honestly she's more loyal to my mother than me since my mother is the one who had her first. She doesn't act like a normal muggle cat at all, she hardly sleeps and never wants to have her belly rubbed." she chuckled "Sometimes I think she spies on the other Ravenclaw students while I'm sleeping, though I have no proof of that." she grinned. Ariana laughed softly as Kohan described the goat incident. She shook her head and replied, "Oh my, that must have been very akward. I hope you were able to repair the books?" she inquired. |
Monica sat next to her brother Eating her hamburger and fries and sipping on her chocolate malt, not saying much of anything, just wondering if Wyatt was going to show up after all. |
Kayla walked through the throngs of people all enjoying the dance and made her way over to a table and sat down. She watched with amusement on her face the people on the dance floor. |

Ben spotted Kayla sitting at a table and made a beeline for that table. "Hi, Kayla," he said. He sat down without further ado. |
Kayla heard Gwen, the girl she'd had an argument with in that eventful charms lesson say hi to her. She nodded her head in her Gwen's direction. "Hello" she replied just as Ben took a seat at the table. She looked at him and smiled brightly. "Hi Ben, how are you?" Kayla asked. |
Quote:
"Hope you're doing better," she said, leaving her to chat with the boy named Ben. |

Kayla burst out laughing. "Yeah I am doing better, thanks. You don't need to look so worried I've got my emotions in better check, I'm not about to destroy anything" she said still chuckling. "And if you want feel free to join us." |

"Yeah I'm good Ben" Kayla said as she looked at him closely. "You have nothing to worry about either, I'm not going to fall apart on you like last time" she said grinning. "So what have you been up to? It feels like ages since I seen you last." Kayla looked at Gwen and smiled. "The more the merrier." |
Ben laughed. "I didn't think you would break anything," he said in mock self-defense. He doubted Kayla had it in her to cause any real harm. "You know me. I've been avoiding reading, eating chocolate, annoying my sister. The usual." He turned to the other first year girl. "Yeah, join us," he invited with a grin, although he could not see her properly due to his hair in his face. |

"Well Ben" Kayla said grinning slyly. "You'd be surprised at what I can do, I managed to kick Helios' butt in a duel. I'm no easy push over you know." |
Ben raised his eyebrows again, and this time he guessed that Kayla would see. After all, he had just brushed his hair out of his face. "Really? Well, I don't know Helios, but I bet he was pretty sore after that," he said. So she thought she was strong...well, Ben was known to admit that looks could be deceiving. Maybe she was. |

Listening intently as Ariana explained what she meant by the reference to her cat, Angela nodded slowly. "I see...Well, maybe she is part kneazle." She suggested, soon laughing at Ariana's remark about her cat spying. "I guess we'll never know." "I'm in the process of getting it replaced." She answered with a slight grimace. "I was rather agitated at first, but then found it all amusing after the fact. Though now....the aftermath does make me want to give that goat a piece of my mind." |

Just then she noticed her friend watching a boy and a girl not too far away. And then only moments later the boy stood up and walked over. Another Slytherin, Jolie noticed. "Hi Ryder. Nice to meet you." She said politley with a small smile. |
"I'm sure you did ok." Rosalie insisted, hoping she'd done as good on her NEWT's. "Honestly, I think NEWT's and OWL's play more on the nerves than the actual knowledge. Picking up the knowledge isn't hard, nor is finding ways to remember it, not if you use it in your daily life at least." Her voice died after that. She sounded like a Ravenclaw, and once more wondered if she'd been sorted into the wrong house. For years Rosalie had felt like she was more of a Ravenclaw than a Slytherin. She was more book smart than anything else. Though that was out of sheer boredom. Growing up how she had had given her little choice. "I was sort of worried when I found out that the theme of the dance was a throwback to the fifties." Rosalie stated. "I think it's one of the decaded with the worst fashion." She added. She'd wanted to buy a dress designed by Vera Wang. But the style was all wrong for a Sock Hop. She'd been rather dissapointed by that. |

Kayla looked back at Ben as he raised his eyebrows again, he really did underestimate her. "You know just because I'm in Hufflepuff doesn't mean that I am not as good or even better than those in other houses. And you met Helios in the great hall" she laughed. "Yeah and I don't think he was too happy that I beat him." |

Her hair was in a ponytail and although she kept the plain white school short sleeved shirt, she had managed find and overly large school skirt which she tried charming pink. It didn't quite work and it was now some kind of fluorescent lavender color. "Isn't that highly unhygienic?" She retorted, purposely ignoring his teasing tone. It would do no good to encourage such behavior. People were watching! |
