There's a fantastic live band playing all sorts of old and beloved favorites. They're located on the dias that the staff table usually sits, and the entire room is full of loud and boisterous music. The tables have been pushed back to allow for dancing, and everyone is doing their best to keep up with the band.

Grab a partner and get out on the floor. Shoes are optional.

he chuckled a little at how excited she was about it. " Thanks. yeah i dont say much about it." he just shrugged." you never asked and its not like playing with kids ever comes up in our conversations. " he said as he never really thought about it. "the best part is when we all take them to like this..its like a place where kids can play and stuff. Its chucky cheese sort of thing. Anyway its the best place to take kids. They love it. Anyway i pay for all of them to go because some of them can afford it. Its worth it to see how much fun they are having. I cant remember having that much fun as a kid." he said with a smile on his face. " My favorite is those air up things that have those plastic colored balls. Mind you their way to bright but it helps with the kids. Thats always fun. " he realized he had gone off. " Oh sorry i didnt mean to ramble." he apologized." Thanks i guess. At least im not a jerk, right. yeah come to the game. You know its played, football. its acutally American football. Of course you can come with the kids. They would have fun with you." he looked at her with a smile," maybe i will be around more then you thought." especially if she was going to come with him and help out with the kids."i have to warn you , it tests your patience."

Shel rolled his eyes at Vannah's statement. "You're right, it's not - It's worse. WAY worse." He shook his head, clearly thinking of the subject. "I didn't attend a single class properly this term," he told her. "Get to my head, those symbol type things, or whatever they are, those runes."

He nodded, in agreement. "Inside is lovely," he told her. "Just imagine having this dance by the lake - we'd freeze. Then someone might have to de-freeze us. Not such a good prospect, eh?"

"As for nature . . . it sure has made its place at Hogwarts. The Grove is so colourful, isn't it?"

Resisting a laugh, Savannah just stared at him in amusement of his point of view on Ancient runes. Honestly, she found Herbology much harder, far too hard for her to concentrate in enough. Oh well, she could understand nonetheless, everyone had a good class and bad. It was a no brainer to which was Shel's worst.

"Aw, not true. There's charms.." She paused in thought, trying to bring up a time one of those charm's had been used. But couldn't, "That could warm even part of outside. There has to be, this is magic we're talking about." Vannah insisted.

She nodded abit again, glancing down at the floor, and her feet then back up again. "Yes, there's no doubt's about that. And yes, it really is. Ehm, not really in winter though..but still."

Jordan Vesper watched the couples dancing on the floor, not daring to remove himself from his spot on the wall. He cautiously raised a cup to his lips to sip the pumpkin juice inside, knowing that any slight movement might draw a wandering eye in his direction. He had no desire whatsoever to disgrace himself on the dance floor. Even if he did, he had no one to disgrace himself with. Not anymore... He cast a glance around for his younger brother, Sage, but the young metamorphmagus was nowhere to be seen. Or perhaps he was, and he had altered his appearance enough that Jordan would not recognize him. In any case, Jordan sighed as he tugged on the sleeves of his long, black jacket, a few drops of pumpkin juice spilling from the near empty goblet. His green eyes glittered as he listened to the familiar song.

Draining the last dops of Firewhiskey from the goblet, he placed it down and leaned against the table, gazing over the hall, realising that, considering his unsociableness, he barely knew anyone in here. He should really socialize, he supposed, but there was no one who seemed on their own, or who would want to socialize with him.

Xana smiled. "It sounds like so much fun... I'd like to help children who have had difficult roads to travel-- I can relate. I adore small children, they have such pure spirits and open hearts. I'm pretty patient with them, don't worry. Actually..." she smiled shyly. "Someday I hope to have children of my own. So getting used to that interaction would be mutually beneficial. " she grinned.

He spun her one last time, and then asked, "Wanna get back to the tables? Or get a drink?"

Jordan watched silently as a pair of Slytherins turned on the dance floor, talking to each other as they smiled. A Gryffindor and a Hufflepuff twirled nearby, and a Ravenclaw and a Hufflepuff were dancing together a bit farther away. Not having anything better to do, Jordan kept his silent vigil, observing the dancers, but never making any movement toward the dance floor itself. His goblet was empty in his hand. He set it on a table that sat within reach; it clunked loudly against the wood, as he had set it down with more force than he thought he would. He glanced at it a moment before turning his attentions back to the dance floor. It wasn't anger, he told himself, that boiled inside of him. What did he have to be angry about? It wasn't anger, or jealousy, or hate. It was sadness.

Lilly saw another Slytherin on the Dance Floor. She remembered that Hufflepuff boy, and what he said, but she didn't care. She walked up to the Slytherin Boy. "Hi," She said with a smile, "I'm Lilly."

They were in the same house, and maybe they shared some of the same interests. He glanced at her, unable to keep his eyes on her face for more than a second. He couldn't for the life of him understand why he was telling this girl his life's story. He tried in vain to push back the brief moment of memory, memories of his mother's house, of the despair and pain that she had wrought upon him. He pushed against it until it disappeared, much like Christmas ornaments after the holiday was over. They went away, and were not seen again until they were needed.

Lilly shook her head. "You don't have to apologize," She said, "I think the same thing of my home."
Lilly often had that affect on new people she met. They would tell her everything without even knowing.. and sometimes that wasn't such a good thing. Lilly smiled at him, "You've been here much longer than I have. How do you like Hogwarts?" She asked.

Lilly saw the smile, and this was a real smile, not the fake ones he's been giving her the whole time. "So, Jordan, what are your interests?" She asked trying to start a conversation. She was going to ask about his family, but that seemed a little too personal.
