There's a fantastic live band playing all sorts of old and beloved favorites. They're located on the dias that the staff table usually sits, and the entire room is full of loud and boisterous music. The tables have been pushed back to allow for dancing, and everyone is doing their best to keep up with the band.
Grab a partner and get out on the floor. Shoes are optional. | |

He squeezed his eyes tightly shut for a second, trying to coax his heart from it's recently created icy cage--and, finally, it did.
"I--I'm sorry, Laylee. You'll probably think I'm a fool--even more of one than I already am--but the only dance I can recall is the Chicken Dance..."
The corners of Chandan's mouth twitched rebelliously as he regained his posture, but they quickly faded and was replaced with scarlet embarrassment as he realised how posh he was beginning to sound. Or was it just that English part of him emerging...?
But, as Chand looked towards Laylee, locking his eyes with hers, there was something buried deep within them, something that had a certain glint, a certain glimmer of... Hope?

He seemed not to have drawn much attention with his entrance, perhaps with the exception of one firstie. Ah well, can't complain.
He made his way over to the drinks, and realised that, to be honest, there wasn't much choice. Pumpkin juice, which he had never been fond of. Pulling his wand from his pocket and muttering something, he filled his goblet with something more...palatable.

Though she was embarrassed and scared, she felt as if a weight was lifted from her shoulders all of the sudden. She looked up into his eyes and stared into them, trying, to look deep inside him. When she failed, she looked down and remembered something that could save the day!
Just as a sweet slow tune began to play, Laylee looked up at him and said, "Well, what about just the slow dance?" She smiled warmly, feeling like this wouldnt be as horrible as she thought...

Ryan was walking toward the dance floor where he once had come with someone else but now it was a bit different. Back at the common room, he thought that the comportment of Agie was rather strange since their departure. She had done something he would have never guess and he wasnt disturb much but amused that it could have done something. Girls could have behavior that couldnt be explain. Not thinking much about it. He waited for the mystery girl known as the Fearless Pillow Knight to walk in.

Erin stepped onto the dance floor and saw RJ immediately. It looked like he'd been waiting for a bit, which made sense to her. After deciding to come down to the ball, Erin had quickly run up to her dorm to change into her dress. She wanted to look cute for this; it would most likely be the last time a lot of her friends saw her before she graduated from Hogwarts.
"Hey," Erin said, stepping up next to the Pillow Thief. She started to move in time with the music, a smile still on her face. Erin was the kind of person who was always talking. When she danced, she remained talking. "So... uh, that girl in the common room...?" Erin began. She was trying to subtly ask if they were anything more than friends, but Erin wasn't exactly sure how to word the question. Instead, she just smirked, still moving her body to the music's beat.

Erin continued to shake around to the music. "If you didn't notice, I can get a little overly... flirty," Erin giggled. "And obviously, Agie likes you... I think I made her jealous, which probably caused her to... you know... overreact a little."
Erin glanced down at her feet. She'd slipped into heels before coming down to the ball, and now she was regretting it. Her feet were killing her. "I'll be right back," Erin muttered before turning and dancing away from RJ and towards one of the tables. Once there, she slipped out of her shoes and left them alone on the floor. Then, Erin returned to her new friend.
"My feet hurt," she explained, smiling sheepishly as she began dancing again. Erin grabbed one of Mister Pillow Thief's hands and used it to twirl herself around once more. As usual, she was grinning. | |
