There's a fantastic live band playing all sorts of old and beloved favorites. They're located on the dias that the staff table usually sits, and the entire room is full of loud and boisterous music. The tables have been pushed back to allow for dancing, and everyone is doing their best to keep up with the band.
Grab a partner and get out on the floor. Shoes are optional. | |

Isabella danced around in circles by herself. She honestly didn't care if she wasn't dancing with anyone, she was one of those girls who could have as much fun with herself as with someone else. She was wearing a green dress that offset her black hair and showed her Slytherin pride at the same time. She couldn't believe how much fun she was having, twirling herself in circles.

"Right then!" Chand tried to create the illusion that his enthusiastic demeanor was completely in tune with confidence and totally true--this probably failed as he inclined his head towards the Dance floor and pulled at his jacket nervously. There he was, looking like a disco ball, and probably about to make a fool of himself--and he was still looking like a geek as he tried to smile in a... Comforting, was it?, way.
"I'll, uh, start, uhm... Walking towards the Dance Floor!" Chandan managed to smile a little, hopefully in a reassuring way, and began to walk towards the Dance Floor. Laylee was still blushing as she followed him onto the dance floor. She smiled at him in a way that, she hoped, was comforting to him.
She set the thought in her mind that this was just a friendly gesture and the two were, infact, just friends. Laylee still hardly knew him, he probably thought this was casual; but Laylee was shaking and she couldnt help it.
She tried to calm herself as her right foot stepped out on the dance floor. She looked around at all the couples dancing, some close together, and some looked like they were having fun just dancing.
Laylee did know how to dance, but she had never danced with a boy in her life! Well, unless you count her father, but that was different...

A magnetic force pulled her eyes to Jayden. It only took a moment for Rosalie to realize that she'd always be painfully aware of his presence. For better or for worse, a part of Jayden would always be on her mind. She'd been horrible to Jayden though, and even though he'd not deserved that...she wasn't going to turn around and hurt Ryder again. She wasn't that girl! She never had been one to get involved in love triangles, or even often have a boyfriend. If she did have a boyfriend there was only one. There was the one whom she loved, and wasn't going to betray!
Then again, a lot had changed about her that past year. For example: her vanity. At that moment, Rosalie knew she looked incredible in her dress. Maybe it wasn't the Vera Wang one she'd wanted, but this one was just as perfect. Of course, she rarely wore anything that bared so much skin she didn't mind it this time. Against the white lace her skin looked luminious. She'd always loved her hair, which, in her opinion, was just as amazingly styled as always.
Part of her wanted Jayden to notice her, to regret having given up, but at the same time she loathed herself for the thought. She loved Ryder, and was just irritated that she'd not been asked to dance yet. But since when had she needed a partner to dance?! Rosalie's glossy red lips twitched up into a smile as she eased into the throng of students, and began to dance, alone.

Jayden laughed as he danced with Jai. He turned to see Alie had gone. HE searched the floor finally seeing her dance alone. He sighed. He hadnt really given her a chance to explain herself. Better now then never. He turned back to Jai. "Hey Ill be right back." he said. He gave her hand a squeeze before heading over to Alie.

Her crystal incrusted heals gave her a good few inches on Jayden. Where as she was usually nearly a head shorter, she was now only a few inches shorter. The knowledge made her smile. She'd finally found some shoes that made a true effect on her height impairment. It was a true pity they were so flashy...
"Hey. Your supposed to be dancing you know." She told him, trying to remain friendly. Sure, she was still insulted by having seen him kiss that little witch Alexandria. It was still hard to see him and not--That didn’t matter. They were at a dance. She may never see him again after they left Hogwarts. Carrying on being angry would get no one anywhere.
She coiled her fingers around Jay's wrists and tried to make him dance. The song was upbeat, and didn't require them to touch. In her opinion, that would help the awkwardness factor. After a while, she gave up on the gesture and stepped back. Her hands raised above her head as the chorus once again came around. Her head flicked back and forth in rhythm with her hips. Jayden probably had something on his mind if he was talking to her, but she was still listening. But at the same time, she’d been wanting to dance for hours.

No, Keith considered himself too important to dress that way. "The party may be more fun than my cynical mood may allow, and you certainly fit the bill to be here, so why is that pretty face frowning? And why aren't you dancing?" he demanded, standing right next to her and casually glancing around the ballroom. Unable to help it, he did tap his foot to the music, finding it more satisfactory than the rest of the scene. Cora eyed the strutting fool with intense dislike. She folded her arms defensivly across her chest and her poofy blonde hair faded back into its original style: pink and curly. She could see Keith looking at her dress with a strange mocking in his eyes and she sighed.
"Stupid isn't it?" She asked, laughing. She pointed her wand at herself and the dress turned to a short sleeved shirt and a pretty green skirt which was fitted around the hips, but flowed nicely around the legs.
"Mmm, that's better." Cora said soothingly, closing her eyes. "I don't dance." She murmered. "No one to dance with and...I fall over my feet." She added, blushing.

"Other than a few minor complaints...yeah..." She stated honestly, not breaking step for a moment. The heals did make it a bit awkward to dance...but that wasn't going to stop her.
Rosalie fell into a simple tow-step and listened to the music for a moment. After hearing what she wanted her movements started moving to a different beat. Though the beat she moved to was different than the one the majority of the croud was paying attention to, it still managed to fit the music.
"There is a guy I sort of miss, that I'm worried is selling his soul to the devil...but...I'm good, and lovin the fifties." Rosalie told him evenly. He'd know she was talking about him, there was no need to emphasize anything. It woudl be better to keep things light.
Rosalie twirled around. The movement caused her ponytail to hit her in the face. Grinning, and laughing softly, she slowed her steps slightly.

"Well, I'm no expert," he shrugged, totally ambivalent to the world of fashion. "On the bright side, you fit in." He only had his opinion. If it looked good to him, it was in. If not, it was out. Cora did look nice in the new outfit and Keith smirked appreciatively.
Then, she went all guru on him. Sighing and swaying. Oh no. Not another one of those. Keith was up to his ears now, though he artfully didn't show it. "Yes...that...that is better," he remarked on her clothing choice to make conversation. Reigning in his confusion with confidence, he smirked again and began questioning her in a saucy tone that those 'independent' girls secretly loved to hear, but pretended to be revulsed by. "I have never seen a girl that doesn't dance..." His blush was like another blow into the stomach. Whatever clever thing Keith had to say now was lost in translation as he focused on the rosy shade of her cheeks. "Well, what if 'hypothetically' I was to ask you to dance...and say that I wasn't much better than you?" he inquired, cocking his head and raking his fingers through his shaggy hair. "Would you be willing to reconsider?" For people that truly knew Keith, it would be sickening to watch him act like a gentleman...especially since he didn't even know how to spell 'gentleman'. But there he was, the beautiful liar.
