Gwen rounded her desk and stood in front of Kayla. She dropped her voice.

"Look, I'm sorry to hear that, and I'm sorry if anything I said or did got to you," she said. "But you need to be careful where you point that wand, and who you point it at."

Seth looked at Ellie and nearly shouted "No you're not! You're bleeding and I'm not going to stand here and watch it. I think we've had enough disaster for one day. Now you're going to the Hospital Wing, and I'll force you if I have to. Let's go!" He grabbed her arm and pulled her towards the door.

Amelia had been quietly practicing her packing charm at the side of the classroom ignoring what was happening. She had nearly gotten the hang of it, but then there was a bang and that first year Huffie girl, Kayla, seemed upset. Freezing in place she turned around to face Kayla and then walked over and wrapped her arms around her, "I'm sorry Kayla, you should know that if you ever needed someone to talk to, then that is what I am there for."

Kayla looked around her and felt utterly ashamed of herself. She had just disrupted the whole class, could have hurt some of them in her angry outburst and yet most of them were here giving her support. God she was carrying on like a real prat!

"I'm really, really sorry everyone and I appreciate all of your concern for me but it doesn't excuse the way I behaved." She looked at the Gryffindor girl again. "Please accept my apology for being rude and snappy. I...uh think I really need to go and sort myself out" she gathered her things and put them in her bag, she bent down to pick up her wand she really didn't want to touch it - it had caused quite some damage already. "I'm going to see the headmistress" she said quietly.

As she passed Ellie. "Would you like me to take you to the Hospital Wing?" she asked.

Ellie looked at Seth and said "Ok, Ok!" then she looked back when she noticed Kayla "Kay, just let go,I'm..."she made a short pause and sighed "..fine."
Then she walked away with Seth.

Ariana gingerly walked back into the classroom just as the young Hufflepuff was leaving. She gave her a small sad smile and went to sit beside Amelia for whome she had completed forgotten about. Nodding to her, he put her head down for a moment, just to clear it and sighed, picking it back up again a few minutes later.

Willow was watching the hufflepuff prefect trying to console her, when the girl began packing her stuff and then leaving the classroom to see the headmistress. She felt something hot on her hand, and she looked down to see that one of shattered glasses had cut her hand. She hastily took the handkerchief from her bag and took the blood off from her wound, "Episkey" she muttered quietly, with her wand on the other hand, remembering Professor Pride telling her that the spell worked with almost any wound. She smiled pleased when she saw that in her hand, was no trace of a cut.

Gwen shrugged, her mouth still open a little. "Forget it," she mumbled.

She gathered her things and followed Kayla out of the classroom.

Clifford remained hidden under his table, he had no idea if the scary Earthcake was over or not. What if he came out of his safe hiding place and more windows shattered? He didn’t fancy risking it.

That didn’t mean he had to stop practicing the Packing Charm though and crossing his legs, he pulled his rucksack toward him. Okay, so maybe it would be second time lucky. Well, hopefully.

“P-paack-ck..” He stuttered hopelessly, the books he was supposed to be packing didn’t even twitch. This was going to be harder than he thought.

Monica was a little frightened, she dove across the room and huddled against him. "What was that?"

Amelia sat down slowly and placed her head in her hand. This was really upsetting to her, to see another member of her house get so worked up. It felt almost like she wasn't doing her duty properly. Sighing, she looked over to Ari sitting next to her and gave her a soft smile.

Kaika was so focus with the spell and getting it all right that she didn't notice anything that had happened around her (talk about concentration).. "Oh, God, what just happened?" she asked to no one in particular, as she only saw some shattered glass on the floor disappeared...

Then she saw a girl get out of the classroom with what look like an arm with blood.. "I hope she'll be OK" she said...

Alycya had been practicing her spell (to not much avail) when Kayla had exploded. When the windows smashed, she dived under her desk, like she had been taught and waited for everything to settle.
When the glass had settled, Alycya got up and dusted off her chair and sat back down on it. She heard Kayla telling her friend that her father was dying.
Poor, poor girl she thought to herself. She had never lost one of her parents but she had lost her grandparents, her aunt and two uncles. She knew how Kayla was feeling. After Kayla left the room, Alycya placed her things back on her desk and tried the spell again, resolving it would be better to forget about others problems.
"Pack" Alycya said firmly, swishing her wand swiftly along the table. The books on the table shuddered, then zoomed off the end of her table and onto the floor. Bugger she thought to herself as she picked them all up again. She got out her robe from her bag and decided to try the folding one.
"Pack" she said again, flicking her wand at the beginning of the swish. The robe flew into the air and folded magnificently and placed itself into her bag.
"Wow. Not bad" she said to herself. "I'm better at that, than I am at normal packing." She continued to practice until she had all of the wand movements down pat.

"I don't know, I think Kayla's got some really strong powers and she just got a little upset. Everything seems okay now, though," Excelsior said, still in shock about what had happened. "Hopefully it won't happen again."

Gwen stared hopelessly at the books she was suppose to pack. She wasn't sure she was going to be able to do it. She glared at the book since nothing was happening. Gwen was at the point where it would be more easy to throw the book then trying the spell anymore.

She decided to give it one more shot "Pack." she demanded as she did the right wand movement. Nothing happened and she couldn't figure out why.

Watching her friend leave the room Krissy shook her head sadly. Going back to her bag Krissy copied the wand movements of other students. "Pack!" she said firmly as all her belongings organized themselves in her bag neatly. It was so neat in fact her books were lined up according to size and color. "cool" Krissy said momentarily forgetting her friend's tragic news.

Tag kept grumbling the spell under his breath, attempting to get the quills on his desk to tuck themselves into his book bag. All he had accomplished thus far was to make them fly around like drunken butterflies and clatter to the floor. He didn't see how this spell was going to help him. He never packed to go anywhere. . . and if he did, cramming was just as good a technique as any.The commotion in the classroom caught his attention, but since several students left to see the nurse (or perhaps a psychiatrist?) it was calming down again. Willow looked liked she'd even administered some healing on herself. Tag took note, in case they ever needed her skill during Quidditch practice.

He turned around in his seat to face the girls behind him and poked Ariana with a finger. "Ari," he whispered. "Hey you okay? I've never seen anyone do that in class before."

Xana raised her hand.

"Professor, I have a question. Is there a way-- perhaps through combining the packing charm with another, or through different wand work -- to combine the packing charm with another charm into a compound charm? I mean..." she contemplated how to express this. "For example, often I find that when I'm packing to leave a destination, I have to do it very quickly, and as I'm on the road, I'll have clothes that need to be refreshed before they are packed... Through the complexity of the wandwork, you've shown us we're able to consolidate folding and packing chores into one simple charm. Is there another way to work the charm that you can teach us that would allow us to consolidate, say, scourgify with the packing charm, for efficiency's sake?"

Lucy was trying to get her packing charm right,But she was distracted by Xana's question for a moment she thought "Why not,its a great idea" She was waiting for professor's answer..

Ari, who had been having a nice semi - concious dream about lemon drops opened her eyes and looked up when someone poked her. She turned in her seat and saw Tag. "Yeah ... I'm fine. Just a bad headache." she replied whispering back, not mentining it was due to the fact that her ability had caused it. She nodded shaking her head, "Yeah I know. She a ough little first year. Remind me to stay out of her way." she added chuckliung a bit.

She grinned as she noticed he was having a bit of trouble and nodded towards the mess around him. "You need some help there?" She asked.

Monica was shaking. "I hope not!"

"Yeah, it was pretty bizarre," Excelsior said, still shaking his head slightly. "Hey, that's an interesting point about combining the packing charm with another charm to make it even faster to use, I like that idea!" He wanted to forget what had happened earlier as quickly as possible, it was too weird.

Monica couldn't help but shiver about what had happened in class, her nerves were raw and deservedly so. She had lived through terror, and it took it's toll. She tried to pay attention. "Yeah, combining the charm." she muttered.

Excelsior understood why the incident had gotten on Monica's nerves so much, it all made perfect sense now. "I'm sure everything will be okay," he soothed her.

Monica nodded. No way she was going to let the others know about her troubles.
