| | Lesson 2: The Core and Companion Numbers You enter the Arithmancy classroom, and just as last time, you see neat and exactly-positioned rows of wooden desks and chairs. Again for your comfort, the chairs have cushions in a myriad of colors and textures to match your comfort and liking. Numbers are floating all around the room and the windows are open, letting in a cool autumn breeze and blowing the golden curtains just slightly. Professor Shackleton is at the front of the room, sitting at her desk, preparing for today's lesson. She is dressed in ornate robes of navy and gold. On the board behind her is written: "Please be sure to have your journals with you and ready to take notes! Please take a seat and wait quietly for the lesson to begin." |

Kerry raised her hand and added "The personality number tells what your personality looks like by others, you're outter appearance of how people see you, kinda like what their first impression is of you. It's what validates or defines you I guess."

"The Personality Number not only helps you make the best possible impression, it invites you to see yourself as others see you. Of course, what others see may not really be a true reflection of who you are, of your inner self, which is why we leave that to the Soul Number. "Finding your Personality Number is as simple as adding together the consonants of your name in a similar fashion to what we did with the vowels. Take a look at my example." Quote: MACADRIAN ASHLING SHACKLETON 4--3-49--5--1-83-57-18-323-2--5 (4+3+4+9+5) + (1+8+3+5+7) + (1+8+3+2+3+2+5) 25 + 24 + 24 (2+5) + (2+4) + (2+4) 7 + 6 + 6 = 19 1+9 = 10 1+0 = 1 Personality Number = 1 "Now, I would like you all to calculate your own Personality Numbers and then reference the textbook for its meaning. Be sure to evaluate its applicability."

Kerry began to write down her name again, this time taking the bottom line of numbers that represented the consonants in her name, she began to add them up. Quote: ----5-----7------1---9-5 -------1-----7----9---5 K-e-r-r- y- -M-a-r-i-e---B-r-a-n-d-y-w-i-n-e
2---9-9----- 4---9------ 2-9---5-4-----5---5--
(first name) 2+9+9 = 20 --> 2+0 = 2
(second name) 4+9 = 13 --> 1+3 = 4
(last name) 2+9+5+4+5+5 = 30 --> 3+0 = 3
Total = 2+4+3 = 9
My Personality Number is 9 Kerry then turned to her textbook and began skimming to find out what this mean for her. She found the page and began to read: Quote: NINE (9): Generous; gullible; excusing and kind-hearted; philosophical; warm and caring; idealistic and romantic; emotional and intuitive; fortunate; vibrant; accomplished; unable to make quick decisions; vulnerable; doesn't judge others on material accomplishments; sympathetic; greatly respected by others; clothes are striking with a flair for the dramatic; no tolerance for injustice; looks young for a long time. You may find yourself too involved in other people's problems and can become unbalanced by the emotional strain. Kerry gasped. "Gullible? Flair for dramatic? Am I really? I mean I'll take the generous, kind-hearted, warm, caring and philosophical." Kerry laughed, "It's funny what others see in you that you don't, I guess." Kerry said aloud, as she jotted the notes into her journal.
"Professor, there's no chance of ummm...changing our numbers? Are there? You know...to better suit ourselves?" Kerry laughed as she finished her notes.

Zoraida sat in her seat towards the front. Apparently they had to do non-vowels this time. Taking her math from before and removing the ones where the vowels were. Quote:
Zoraida (8++9++4+) = 21 =3 (first)
Elizabeth (+3++8++2++2+8) = 23 = 5 (middle)
Trowbridge (2+9++5+2+9++4+7+) = 38 = 11 = 2 (last)
total (3+5+2) = 10 = 1 (personaility)
Then she looked up what the number 1 meant. Besides that she had just earned one point but that likely had little to due with the math she had just preformed. Quote:
ONE (1): Appears to be dominant and forceful; appears confident and self-reliant; imaginative/creative; brave; comfortable in the spotlight; projects a stylish, professional image; prefers to create his or her own fashion statement; tends to wear bright colors and loud, bold patterns. If you're too impeccably dressed, you may be seen as unapproachable and might put others off. Or you can be perceived as too aggressive in social situations.
Seemed interesting and actually seemed to fit her pretty well. Which was good as the odds were high her math was correct or at least that is what she thought.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jean Sebastian | Tori began doing the math in her notebook. Looking up at where she had assigned numbers to each of the letters in her name earlier, she wrote, Quote:
(4+3+2+9) + (1+5) + (4+3+2+7)
18 + 6 + 16
(1+8) + 6 + (1+6)
9 + 6 + 7 22/4 Tori was happy that she had gotten a master number. She opened her text book and read, Quote:
TWENTY-TWO (22/4): Aura of competence; impression of being a superhero; purposeful; persistent; solid and stable; practical and creative; common-sense problem solver; builder; appears masterful, efficient and diplomatic; dresses conservatively in tailor-made clothes; honest; productive; serious; dependable; like to plan things with lists. You appear to others to be a "workaholic" who needs to relax and enjoy life.

Hermy started adding the numbers. Quote:
Hermy Louisa Smythe
(8+9+4) + (3+1) + (1+4+2+8)
= (21) + (4) + (15)
= 40
= 4
So her number was 4. Flicking to the correct page in her textbook, Hermy noted down the following: Quote:
Likes the country-outdoor look; looks like a sober, honest person; follows the law precisely; refuses to take shortcuts out of fear of ruining the end result; prefers sensible shoes; chooses clothing that's practical, economical, and lasting; conservative; frugal; hardworking and diligent; trustworthy and respectable; shy and reserved; finds it sometimes difficult to enjoy frivolity. You can sometimes be perceived as boring and dull. Stubbornness and rigidity are two traits that may be contributing to any sense of restriction you may feel.
She nodded as she read this through, many of the things noted were definitely talking about her.

| Wowza! "This time there was no need of vowels, so it should be easier". Willow looked at her notebook again and began doing the math: Quote:
Willow: 5+3+3+5=16=1+6=7
Leigh: 3+7+8=18=1+8=9
Kovac: 2+4+3=11=1+1=2
7+9+2=18=1+8=9 Personality Number: 9
Willow looked that her personality number and then went for her book quickly to read what it meant: Quote:
NINE (9): Generous; gullible; excusing and kind-hearted; philosophical; warm and caring; idealistic and romantic; emotional and intuitive; fortunate; vibrant; accomplished; unable to make quick decisions; vulnerable; doesn't judge others on material accomplishments; sympathetic; greatly respected by others; clothes are striking with a flair for the dramatic; no tolerance for injustice; looks young for a long time. You may find yourself too involved in other people's problems and can become unbalanced by the emotional strain.
Willow read what the number 9 meant quickly. "Wow" she said quietly. She indeed was almost everything that said in there except for the fact that she didnt dreesed to dramatically |

JOSEPHINA ANNE WENRIDE
1+1+7+8+5 5+5 5+5+9+4 22 (2+2) 10 (1+0) 23 (2+3)
First name – 22/4
Middle name – 1
Last name – 5
Personality number – 10 (1+0) 1 Josey looked up the analysis for a personality number of 1.
That completed, Josey then surveyed her numbers. There, the consonant numbers for her first name added up to 22, a master number. She reduced it to 4 so she could find her total personality number, but then Josey raised her hand. “Professor, I have a master number from my first name. Do I still reduce it to find my complete personality number? I mean, is it just a deeper description of me since the master number isn’t in my total?” she said. She hope she was asking good questions. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Alex Black First Year | SS Featured Writer Lovely Lady Excelsior began to do the calculations.
E X C E L S I O R - R O M U L U S - B L A C K
5 + 5 + 9 + 6 = 25 reduces to 7
6 + 3 + 3 = 12 reduces to 3
1
7 + 3 + 1 = 11 reduces to 2
Excelsior wrote down the interpretation for the number 11, a number he felt was particularly key to him.
"You are extremely sensitive, with more emotional ups and downs than other numbers. You're wiser than your age would suggest, understanding and perceiving more than most. Above all else, you want to bring peace to all relations - whether its partnerships, loved ones, families, neighboring countries, or magically diverse groups. You have strong hunches, which most often prove to be correct. You are an old soul who brings ancient knowledge and spiritual wisdom to all of your undertakings. In matters of the heart and friendship, you can be like the 2, sweet and gentle and wanting to please. But your double 1s can also cause you to desire leadership and detest playing second, even if your greatest desire is for harmony."
"Oh, I see," said Excelsior. "This sounds exactly like me!"

| Kitchen Seers/ICU James’ Girl/Sirius's too Touy carefully added up her numbers. Her 1st name was a 9 that was interesting. Pursing her lips together she continued on her last name was 9 which when add to the other 9 it equaled 18 which reduced equaled 9. Its obvious that 9 was her number. The meaning of nine. Quote: NINE (9): Generous; gullible; excusing and kind-hearted; philosophical; warm and caring; idealistic and romantic; emotional and intuitive; fortunate; vibrant; accomplished; unable to make quick decisions; vulnerable; doesn't judge others on material accomplishments; sympathetic; greatly respected by others; clothes are striking with a flair for the dramatic; no tolerance for injustice; looks young for a long time. Zora closed up her journal and packed her things into her bag. It was interesting how things she would have just disregarded as sleep over games using numbers and names and such. Now are important and are actually real to some extent. She did however really enjoy this class as it really had no wand waving and was just numbers and books. Two things that if she worked hard she could do.
Then she walked out of the classroom and off towards her dorm or the freedom outside.
