You enter the Arithmancy classroom to see neat and exactly-positioned rows of wooden desks and chairs, the latter of which have cushions in a myriad of colors and textures to match your comfort and liking. The walls are filled with thick wooden shelves, on which rest a seemingly endless number of Arithmancy texts and the occasional Ancient Runes and Divination reference. When you look to the front of the room, you see a tall, blonde-haired woman leaning against a desk made of dark angelique wood. In contrast to the darkness of the desk, this woman appears bright and vibrant, some of it due to her bright fuschia robes and some of it due to the vitality of her aura. The woman, your professor, is a new face among the Hogwarts staff. She smiles at you as you enter the classroom and gestures for you to take a seat... | |

Zoraida was kinda happy to hear they would not need parchment cause she did not bring any. She however had her quill because she thought it looked quite nice as a hair ornament. Apparently they were going to be using this thing so she took it out of her hair and placed it on the desk in front of her. Zora just hoped it would be for art not making legible writing on something.

Isabelle walked into the Arithmancy classroom all geered and ready for her first lesson. She sat down in the second row giving professor Shackleton a shy smile before to take out her things. Her professor was a beautiful woman and izzie hoped that she was nice and friendly too. Looking around the classroom she saw a lot other students taking their seats. Izzie wonderd what her first lesson would have in store. Hopefully something fun. A desk mate would be nice though..

Shel had taken a seat at the very back, and was now wondering why there would be no need to carry parchment in the Professor's class. Well, he wasn't exactly complaining if there was no writing to be done. The less work, the better; not that he did not love Arithmancy. It just sort of reminded him of Ancient Runes and that, indeed, was one subject he was extremely hopeless at.
With a light shrug of his shoulders, the fifth year brushed back his messy, blonde hair off his forehead, his hands placed negligently in his lap.

Ginny sat back in her seat scanning the class her text book lay neatly on the center of the table. she didnt see anyone she knew too well. She sat patiently waiting for the class to begin. her green eyes were fixed on a point of her purple quill which she twirled in her hands. bringing her blond hair out of her eyes once in a while. She glanced at a girl sitting next to ehr that she hadnt notice dwhne she sta down.(Isabelle) "hey" she wrote on her hand "im ginny" she smiled and wipped it off.

After straightening her robes, Professor Shackleton cleared her throat softly and began cheerfully in her Irish accent, "Good mornin' class! I think now would be a good time to begin. As many of you have probably noticed, I am not Professor Frost, the former Arithmancy Professor. My name is Macadrian Shackleton, but you may call me Professor Shackleton or Professor Macadrian. I am new to the staff here at Hogwarts this year. However, I am no stranger to this wonderful institution. Several years ago, and do not ask me how many because a lady never reveals her age," Macadrian raised her eyebrows playfully at the students and continued, "I sat were you are now, taking part in my education. Upon leaving Hogwarts, I gained employment as a curse-breaker for Gringotts, traveling around the world with my two sisters, who are also curse-breakers. In the curse-breaking world, we are well known as the Shackleton Triplets, known for being identical and for being some of the only females in the field."
Macadrian paused to allow that bit of information to sink in, then proceeded, "I worked for Gringotts for several years before being asked to join the staff here and take part in shaping your education. As such, my first and foremost concern is your education and I expect that your primary concern will be your education as well." She then smiled and added, "At least it should be for the time that you are in my classroom. When you step out of these doors, I won't be offended if you attention switches to things like family, friends, or Quidditch, because mine probably will too!" Professor Shackleton winked and stood up from her leaning position.
She began to pace the front of the room slowly, clasping her hands in front of her. With her wand in hand, she walked over to the bookshelves, cast a non verbal spell, and guided dozens of brown leather bound books over to her desk in the classrom. She turned to her class and said, "These are the reasons you will not need your parchment this term in my class. You will be taking all your notes, and completing all your homework in these journals. I will be grading them periodically throughout the term, and you will receive your grades on their very pages. This journal will travel with you throughout your time at Hogwarts, only to be used for Arithmancy! It will be a wonderful asset during your time in school and afterward." With a flick of her wand, Professor Shackleton distributed a journal to each student. She smiled and asked, "Are there any questions before we formally begin the lesson?"

This sounded a lot better than just writing stuff on parchment and turning it in, he had already forgotten most of the assignments he had done last term. Shel's interest was growing with each word the Professor uttered; he enjoyed listening to her, almost forgetting that he was in a class, ready to take his first Arithmancy lesson of the year.
Curse-breaker? Wicked!
When she paused, he merely shrugged to himself, having no questions. However, he did eye the leather bound journal directed towards his desk with interest. It would be a great way to keep track of everything they would cover during the lesson, and those to come. Nice.

Saylie had seated herself near the front of the class and slowly put up her parchment with a thoroughly confused look on her face. Not need parchment? How would they take notes? This was definitely not like her other classes.
Then the leather journal came to rest on her desk, "Oh, I get it now!" Saylie grinned, matching journals for the entire class, that was a smart idea.

No parchment??? Why didn't they need any parchment today? Was it going to be a completley practical lesson? Izzie shrugged and lifted her head to take a better look at her professor, patiently waiting for the lesson to begin. She had arrived a little late to Hogwarts and hadn't been on the train so she felt really alone. Most of the students around her seemed to know at least one or two people while the only ones she knew where older than her. Izzie sulked a little hoping that something would brighten her mood. Professor Shackelton started the lesson and Izzie raised her hand to ask shyly "Professor what was your most favorite subject at Hogwarts?

Sabrina looked at the journal which soon appeared in front of her and flicked through the empty pages. She looked up at Professor Shacklebolt and raised her hand. "Professor, How often would we be handing these journals in?" She asked.

Vivian didn't really no much about Arithmancy but she had done her reading before coming in. She sat there nervously in her seat, flipping through the pages of her new book. She suddenly recognized a fimililer head in the crowd of student in front of her and of course none other than the dark blond head of Ginny.
