Lainey took a deep, appreciative breath as she entered her long abandoned classroom. It was a little musty and a few more spiders than usual, but still the same on the whole.

Lainey had to stoop as she entered. Today, she was dressed like a muggle witch. Her hat protruded high above her head. She thought she looked rather spiffing, really. And when she looked spiffy, she liked for all her students to look spiffy too. That'd come later though.

For now, Lainey took her usual post by the door and awaited her class. She wondered if any of them would come... considering she'd only just got back..

Cassandra walked into class and sat in the front. "Welcome back professor Lainey..." She told the professor.

Dan walked into the classroom " hi Professor " he said brightly as he sat down in the corner of the room.

"Thank you, Cassandra. Good to be back," Lainey grinned and touched both of the girls as they came in. She'd missed her students so much. "Hi Dan. Welcome to class. Get comfortable, but not too comfortable." Lainey gave them both a wink and continued to look for students.

Laylee walked in her History of Magic class slowly, her hair in a loose bun, a few of her curls hanging around her face. Looking around, she only saw two other students. One of which was Dan; she smiled and waved at him and took a seat in the middle of the classroom. Laylee grabbed the books she needed and set them up. She gave a quick smile to her teacher and waited for class to begin...

Zander entered the class with a grin on his face... At last, a History of Magic lesson, his favorite course. "Hello." He nodded to the professor before sitting in the middle row, eager for the class to begin.

"Hello girls and Zander," Lainey tipped her hat to them all. "Welcome, welcome." Lainey waved them to their seats. "We'll start when we get a class full. Make yourselves at home."

Sini walked into the room, recalling that last History of Magic class she attended and hoped this one was just as wonderful. She eased into her seat and pulled out her parchment, ink and quill. She was now ready to begin and she was thrilled. "Hello Professor" Sini said as she sat down anxiously awaiting class to begin.

Excelsior was surprised when he walked into the History of Magic classroom and saw none other than Professor Lainey sitting there waiting. "Professor, are you back?", he asked excitedly. This was good news indeed if this were true, he knew Professor Lainey was one of the best professors in the school. He nodded hello to the other students and took a seat near the middle of the classroom.

Adam stepped into the class and stared at the teacher for a moment. She seemed to be dressed as a witch... Not a real one, but a muggle one.

Deciding that it would be rude to stare and not say hi, he smiled and said "Hello Professor," before taking a seat and waiting for his classmates to arrive.

Lainey took a bow. "I am back, my dear. And ready to fill all your heads with more history. As usual. And gobbledunk." Lainey thumped him playfully on his way by. She just really couldn't get enough of her students. She wanted to hug each of their little heads.

"I have a surprise for you all. As usual. I'll give it to you all once the rest of the class shows up."

Walking into the class with his hands in his pockets, he snorted at how the Professor looked like. This was stupid. Ridiculous. Why would anyone want to dress up as a stupid muggle? Giving her one last look, he nodded his head and smiled, "Good day to you, Professor."

Taking his hand out of his pocket, Kingston ran a hand through his golden locks. At that moment he had remembered the speech the Headmistress made about them not having History of Magic. This was strange. Although why would Kingston care?

Noticing he'd been standing for a while, he snorted once last time at what the Professor looked like. Again, it was ridiculous. After that, Kingston randomly sat beside a Ravenclaw boy who seemed...idiotic.

Sigh.

Wait. What? Surprise? What in blazes was she talking about? With that silly hat nothing could be surprising. Unless she'd make that Mexican dance, whatever it was called. Now that would be a bit too surprising.

With the same bag over her shoulder and books carried on her arm, Lindsey smiled as she entered the classroom. "Hello Proffessor," she greeted, giggling under her breath at the costume. It reminded her of Halloween in London's muggle towns. She liked it though, she had once dressed uo like that herself.

She took an empty seat somewhere in the front, where she could have a good look at what was going on. Either that or she'd get distracted by the windows and start planning her next adventure. She knew better than that!

Anita walked into the room, excited about her first History of Magic class. She had been so disappointed when she saw the note canceling the class, but now they were having it! She quickly found a seat, greeting the professor as she walked by. "Hello Professor," she said with a smile. She sat and pulled out everything she thought she might need.

"I think we can get started now. There's a fair few of you here now. We'll just leave the door open for stragglers." Lainey made her way to the front of the room.

"Well... I know you all thought that we weren't going to be having History this term. My apologies, my apologies. I got lost...," Lainey smiled mischievously and left it at that.

"But, here we are. And I do believe I promised you all a surprise," Lainey began to pace the front of the room. "I believe I did. So, let's get on to that. I have each of you.. you're very own... Witch's hat. Even you boys." Lainey waved her wand and an army of tall, new, black pointed hats came flying from a box from behind Lainey's dusty desk. She jerked her wand once more and a single hat settled on the heads of each student in the room.

"Tada! Now.. you all fit the part of today's lesson! I do say, you all are looking quite good now. Yes, very good indeed." Lainey was grinning from ear to ear at each of the pointed hats resting on her class's head.

Christian slipped into the class, his bag strung over his shoulder, a kitten's head sticking out and observing the surroundings. He smiled at the professor and gave a cheery, "Hello! Welcome back." Followed by a hurried "sorry" (ooc: so closeXD). Smiling and whistling quietly he proceded to find a seat, and decided to one beside Lindsey who appeared to be a little out of this world.

His hand reached up to the hat that suddenly appeared on Christian's head. He continued to smile, this could be interesting.

Excelsior placed the witch's hat on his head. This was different, definitely an interesting aspect to the class. Things could get interesting, he thought, adjusting his hat carefully.

Lindsey smiled as the teacher pronounced their lesson would start. She got quill at hand ready and listened attentively at the teacher. Lost? Perhaps she was a new teacher who didn't her way around the school. She was sure at least one new student had to get lost every day on that first week.

Suprise? Lindsey perked up at that mention. She loved suprises! A muggle-witch hat came flying her way to end on top of her orange hair before she smirked. If only she had a mirror.

"Hi Christian," she greeted him cheerfully as he appreared, late, beside her. She encouraged him to take a seat beside her and smiled. Well, she wouldn't be so alone anymore.

Kingston's eyes followed Lindsey as she went past him, not sensing him at all. That was rude. Not seeing him was evil. EVIL. And just plain wrong. Feeling a bit down, he turned his head to see what this maniac of a Professor was talking about.

He dully watched the Professor. Listening to her brag. And Nikolai said that History of Magic was a fun class. Psht. Oh was he wrong.

But wait.

What was this?

Hats?!

Kingston's eyes widened as hats flew around the class, placing themselves above the students heads. NO! Quickly grabbing the hat, Kingston placed it on his desk and looked at the Professor with his bright blue eyes. "Excuse me, if you don't mind me asking, Professor. Why are we wearing these silly, unfashionable hats?"

Dan sat ginning slightly as the hat found its way to his head , Proffessor Lainey seemed to enjoy the sight of all the students with witches hats.

What a lovely hat, Sini thought. She quickly placed it on her head waiting to see what they would be learning about today. Perhaps the old sorting hat or where the witches hat originated...oh how exciting!
