| | |  Herbology Lesson Three: Testing for Magical Effect
ooc: Whoops... Got distracted by Tales of Beedle the Bard. Can you blame me?  Erikson finished setting up the classroom and walked out to his office, leaving the classroom open to wandering students.
There were four different stations set up, two of them with a cauldron and different ingredients. At those stations were also some sort of boxy-looking thing, set in with dents that looked as though they would fit a cauldron perfectly. At another two stations were a set of four wands, each without a core. At the first station were oak, maple, ash, and ebony. At the second were willow, pine, rose, and cherry. Each wand was very clearly labeled.
Written on the board were instructions: Everyone will be working in teams today. Please choose a station, but do not touch anything yet. | |

Willow entered the Herbology classrom after taking a deep breath. This wasnt one of her best subjects but still, she at least try not to be so bad at it. "Hello Professor Erikson, having a good day I hope?" she said politely to the teacher. She read what was written in the board. She looked at the stations and decided to go for where the wands were.

Excelsior entered the classroom. "Hello, Professor Erikson, how are you today?", he asked. Looking around and seeing the wands and the way things were set up, he was immediately intrigued. These wands had no core, were they going to be working on actually making wands and filling the cores today, he wondered. How exciting! He took a seat at the second station. | |

Hermy entered the classroom and smiled at Professor Erikson. "Hope you are well Professor!" she said, eyes twinkling. She noted the directions on the board and went to view the stations. Looking at the wand selection, Hermy chose the first station, since she recognised all the different woods.

Ariana walked in, not knowing why she was really here, except to try and learn something. She sighed as she read the instructions, shaking her head in a sad way as she walked up to a station and looked down, noticing the cauldron. Putting her bag down she looked up, ready to get this over with. She wondered if anyone would partner up with her, she highly doubted it but thought it would be worth a shot.

Erikson walked back in with a plant that had vibrant green leaves resembling small lilypads. At the top of the plant was a single bloom. The outer petals splayed out like an easter lily, curling towards its stem. The rest of them spiked around, all rather wide with frilled edges. The inner petals and centers of the outer ones were all a vibrant royal blue. The outer edges of the petals seemed to melt into a shimmering metallic lavender. The center of it sparkled like a hundred deep blue stars. He set it carefully on his desk, where another cauldron and set of ingredients waited.
"Good afternoon, class. We're going to have a bit of fun, today. Meet one of my latest plants. A cross between the Blue Capensis aquatic lily and Yasina's Iris. This is a magically forced hybrid." He looked around the classroom momentarily and checked who was at which station. Two of the students seemed to be standing between stations. "Willow, choose a wand station please. If you like, you can group with the other Ravenclaws. But Excelsior seems to need a partner. Ariana, please choose a potions station. Cassandra, Xana... pick a station, please. Don't just stand between them."
