This is where 1+ year old Damian Erikson sleeps and plays while his mum and dad are busy teaching. A house elf watches over him, and is ready to hex the first person to come in and threaten the child. Protective wards are in place to ensure his safety.

Professor Blaylock is very nervous about having people visit her child, but now that Damian is older she allows her other staff members and the occasional student to come in and have a look. But only with her permission.

Josh walked into the Nursery. He just wanted to see what it was like." Hi professor." Josh said as he looked around. he hadnt been in one of these since his niece graduated to an actually bedroom.

Natasha looked up as a person came into the private sanctuary of her child without her invitation and hastened to her feet, "Hello Mr. Moonson...I believe you are quite lost."

The only reason she hadn't ushered the student out of the room already was because Damian wasn't there at the moment.

I'm going to have to put up some extra wards...

It was then that he saw the signs." Eh..sorry professor. " he apologized . " I was just wondering what the room was like. I have a niece. She's almost two. " he said with a smile. Hopefully it was aright to be here. If it wasnt he was sure she would say something.

Natasha was trying very hard to keep the calm she was famous for (yeah right, in what world?) and not push the boy out, "How lovely for you." Yes, a little two year old girl was a lovely thing, but right now that wasn't what she was concerned about.

"Well, now that your curiosity has been quenched, I hope you have a good day."

The smile she gave him was clearly just a little tight around the corners. Really, she seemed to have adopted some of De Luca's OCD qualities where her son was concerned.

Jasmine's total demeanor changed as she began to talk of her beloved animals. Her teary eyes lit up and a happy smile appeared upon her face.

"Oh Professor Blaylock, I promise you will love them! They are all extremely well behaved and completely wonderful."

Sitting up straighter and using her hands to help elaborate what she was saying, Jasmine went on to say," Well, first there is Fallon, a beautiful red tailed hawk that Professor Maline gave me. As you might suspect, by being one of Professor Maline's creatures, she is very well behaved and very protective. She even helped save my life last term when she led Professor Erikson to where I was in the forest after I was poisoned." After saying that all in one breath, she inhaled again and went on.

"Second, there is Niveus. He is a very large snowy owl. Quite the distinguished gentleman that one. He is very quiet and very trustworthy."

"Thirdly, there is Cinder, he is my cat. You will like him because he is fluffy, sweet and very cute."

"And finally, there is Felix. He is a wonderful kneazle I saved him from some mean kids around Knockturn Alley. Professor Maline helped me nurse him back to health and then let me keep him. He is fluffy and cute too. You said you liked fluffy and cute, and the birds will take care of themselves plus watch over the cottage.So what do you think?"

As she finished telling the professor about all her animals, Jasmine clutched her hands to her chest and gave her what could only be described as the biggest pretty please, puppy-dogged look of all time.

Natasha was vaguely aware of the fact that Jasmine was trying to describe her menagerie to her. She leaned on a wall and shut the door firmly behind the young boy. She wasn't taking any chances...there were definitely going to be wards going up when this interview was done.

She turned back to Jasmine with a troubled smile, "Birds, my dear?" She bit her lip as she thought it over, "So long as they...don't...well, fly in the house and...you'll be expected to take care of the..." she cleared her throat, "Excrements."

Jasmine had been so involved in talking of her animals she hardly payed attention to the exchange between the unfortunate boy who had entered.

She had to feel a little sorry for him not seeing the sign as she had done the same thing her first term at Professor Erikson's office.

Shaking her head of old memories, she caught the last part of what the professor was saying.

Stopping short of a gasp, Jasmine stood,crossed her arms, lifted her chin and said a bit indignantly," All my animals are extremely well trained Professor Blaylock and would never leave anything like you said, anywhere around the cottage. They practically take care of themselves."

With the threat to her child's haven gone, a corner of Natasha's mouth lifted in amusement, "Well...be that as it may, they still aren't human. Even human beings can't take care after themselves very well, what more can we say of creatures?"

She patted the child's shoulder, "I'm sure they're exceptional creatures, Jasmine, but it just isn't the way things are done in my home."

Jasmine stopped just short of pouting as she sighed and nodded dejectedly. "I understand professor. I'm sorry."

The thought of not being with her animals made Jasmine's tummy hurt. Absently she rubbed it as she tried to think of some sort of compromise.

Her furrowed brow suddenly cleared as an idea popped into her head. Excitedly she pulled on Professor Blaylock's robes, "Oh! I got it! I will just sleep in the shed with the animals!." Jasmine's face broke out into a grin as she felt she had solved the problem.

Armand ushered young Damian back into the nursery and looked between the girls. "So, how are things going in here?" He couldn't help a smirk as Damian made a bee-line for his mother. The child really was so attached to her.

Jasmine was waiting for Professor Blaylock's response when Damian and Professor Erikson returned. As Damian made for his mother, Jasmine turned to Professor Erikson and said quite happily, "It's been going great! And guess what? You are going to build a shed so my animals and I can sleep in it!"
Jasmine was smiling as she said this and ran to give Professor Erikson a bear hug.

He blinked. That wasn't exactly what he was expecting. "Sleep in a shed? No no... What?" He looked up at Natasha, then back down to Jasmine. "If it's about the animals in the house, I think we can come to a different arrangement. Not a shed... perhaps your own place or something, however..."

"S-sleep in the shed?! Preposterous!" Natasha sputtered at the thought of putting a defenseless young girl in a shed outside the house. Anything could happen! In the dead of the night in the Scottish Highlands...why, what if one of the crazy anti-Hogwarts people came and raided the grounds?

Armand came in, and Natasha shook her head emphatically at the look he shot her. "There is no way she's living with the animals in a shed." She stood up with her hands propped on her hips in a classic no nonsense stance.

"We can extend the cottage." There.

Jasmine stood back and looked from Professor Blaylock to Professor Erickson as they each made their feelings known on the matter of her sleeping in the shed. She frowned as they both seemed a little upset about it.

"Um... No.. I don't want to cause any problems, and I don't mind sleeping in a shed really. A shed would be more than I have had in a real long time so I would be very thankful for it, and so would my animals."

Jasmine stepped from foot to foot and wrung her hands worriedly. She hoped she hadn't ruined everything and made them angry in some way.

He chuckled. "An extension of the cottage will not be a problem, Jasmine. I know it has been a while since you had a decent place to stay, but that does not mean that you should have any less than the rest of us. A place for both you and your animals will be built." He leaned down and kissed her forehead before looking back up at his wife. "So, what do you think, my dear?"

Jasmine closed her eyes as Professor Erikson kissed her forehead then opened them with a smile. Hugging him again she turned her head to look at Professor Blaylock hopefully. She quite liked the lot of them and hoped it would all work out.

"Professor Blaylock I will do whatever you think is best and I promise to be as good as I can and I can help around the house with cleaning or babysitting or whatever you need too." She said almost pleadingly as she waited for her to answer Professor Erikson's question.

Natasha looked at her husband, then down at Jasmine...to Damian who was clinging to her leg, and to Armand again. She bent down to pick Damian up and nuzzled him. As he giggled, she held one hand out to Jasmine.

"I think Damian would adore having an older sister to fuss over." She grinned, "If he's anything like his father."

It took only one second for Jasmine to reach out to take the hand Professor Blaylock offered. Smiling, she shyly hugged her and Damian, tugging behind her, Professor Erikson so as to include him in the hug as well.

"Well, I know I would adore fussing over him even more." Jasmine made a silly face at the little guy to get him to smile, then went on to say,"Besides, being fussed over sounds rather nice.Thank you."

Laying her head upon Professor Blaylock's shoulder and with her arm still around Professor Erikson and Damian, Jasmine smiled and closed her eyes. It felt so good to belong to a real family for once that she just wanted to hold on to this moment for as long as she could.

Natasha raised her face to look up at Armand, a thousand questions in her eyes which she knew she could never be able to put in words. She tightened her hold on her family...she would protect them for as long as she could.

He held his family close, smiling. Looking over at his wife, he saw all he needed to see. This really was his family. He kissed Natasha softly before looking to Jasmine. "Welcome to the family."

Jasmine opened her eyes at Professor Erikson's words and smiled. Then to her dismay she felt tears well in her eyes and felt like she was about to bust out crying. Not wanting to make a blubbering fool of herself, Jasmine cleared her throat quickly, sniffed and said to her future parents,"Thank you so much! I promise to be the best daughter ever!"

Stepping back, she wiped her eyes quickly and sensing that the two adults might have some things to discuss,said "Well,I better start being a good daughter by making you proud with good grades. So I'm off to do some homework."

Smiling she turned to leave only to turn back and run to give all three a noisy kiss on the cheek. Grinning and with a twinkle in her eye, Jasmine skipped out of the nursery humming a happy tune.

Natasha watched Jasmine leave before turning away from Armand, blinking back the moisture from her eyes.

Damian patted his mother's cheek.

She kissed his cheek before turning to her husband. She cleared her throat, "How soon?"

A month. That didn't sound like a very long time at all. Four weeks...it wasn't so bad. In four weeks, an insane amount of things could happen. Someone might blow up the North Tower during one of her classes, or a sheep could get loose in the Great Hall...

Then again, it was just enough time for her to get herself prepared. She'd need to owl-order a few books on teenagers and how to be a parent for one of them.

Let's see...if I order those books today, I could get them in two days...which will give me about another two weeks to finish reading them all.

"A month sounds just about right." She beamed up at her husband, "There's so much to do! I never thought it would be this hectic to adopt...I've never done it before, you see?"
