Agie shook her head. "Are you losing your youth already?" She teased, sticking out her tongue.

"Ahh no where special, just out and about, meeting and greeting people. You know how it is" Agie winked.
Agie then checked to see if anyone was listening. Actually I have been finding food for my Cruppy, and I was just heading up to the dorm to feed him"

"Whenick," she agreed. Or Patrick... Both. Her eyes flashed open when Kerry joined in. "I'm not so great at essays." When slid her ear away from his neck, slowly and reluctantly, until her head rested on his shoulder. "I haven't even started," she admitted. She hadn't even been to the library at all, so she wouldn't know about firsties hard at work. Shame on her.

"I'm alright at essays, it's just I like writing stories better." Patrick replied to When. He made no comment on her shift to his shoulder other than to stick his tongue out at her. He had been quite happy to have her head there. Besides it was a good headrest.

"Stories, huh?" When said. "I can't do those either." A smile twitched on the corner of her lips. "I'll have to read one, then," she decided. Her eyebrows went up. "What? You like my hair all up in your chin, do you?" She stuck her tongue right back at him and moved her hand for a moment to poke his stomach. Really, she liked her hair all up in his chin just fine. She moved her hand back to his palm.

“Well if you’ve started than you’ve gotten further than I have. I’m procrastinating big time on this, which is sad, because it’s really not that hard of an essay, I just can’t seem to get my head around the idea of school work again.” Kerry shrugged.

She listened, as the boy talked about the first years in the library. “I hope they’re all Gryffindors.” Kerry laughed. “But good for them… I used to be the same way as a first year…so eager and excited. Now I think I’m more about being social and just enjoying my final years at Hogwart’s … I know I should really be getting ready for NEWT’s next year and preparing for the real world…it’s the time here is just flying by so quickly and I want to enjoy every minute of it.” Kerry said shaking her head. “Man I really need to get more motivated.” she smirked.

Kerry looked at the boy a bit closer. “Ok, I admit..I’m a bit embarrassed to ask this as I’m sure we’ve met before, haven‘t we?? I mean your face is very familiar, .but I can’t recall your name, I telling you.. I think I’m losing it.” Kerry laughed. “Oh, and I’m Kerry by the way, and in case we haven’t met. It’s very nice to meet you.” Kerry nodded.

Kerry looked at Agie, “Perhaps” she laughed, “I am starting to feel so old. Is it me or are the first years this term very small? And that’s saying a lot coming from me.”

Kerry watched Agie’s face as she tried to tell Kerry she wasn’t up to no good. “I’ll believe it when I see it, and you need to go take that crup down to the pet room or the animal hospital before you lose points for Gryffindor! Crups are not allowed in the common room, don‘t make me take him from you.” Kerry warned Agie.


“Well that makes two of us who haven’t started, although essays don’t bother me.. Once I get started anyway.” Kerry grinned. “If you need any help, I’d be glad to be of some assistance, after all…we Gryffies need to stick together!” Kerry winked.

"I can, lots," Trick said, "my English teachers got over-excited about me sometimes," he continued. "What story? Animal Farm? I've been trying to get a hold of that one for ages." He asked looking very excited. "You made my neck all cold when you moved. It doesn't like being cold. So you have to tell it sorry." He answered quite seriously. He poked her back, only on the shoulder, using his unoccupied hand.

"Yeah, i was never really into school work. Except potions of course." Patrick said to Kerry. "Maybe not. I just know you because you're the prefect. You must have seen me around though. I'm a fifth year by the way. Patrick." he replied in answer to her question about whether or not they knew each other.

When's nose wrinkled up at the mention of NEWTS. "Next... year," she said, her tone completely horrified. "Patrick, Patrick, Patrick." Whende replied for him, thoroughly enjoying herself. It was a nice name to say.

"Oh. Of course. I'm sorry, neck." She had no way of warming it up either. Of course, she could take her hand from his. Or use the hand wrapped behind her back. So she sighed, as if it were some sort of absolutely awful thing, and put her head back where it had been. She rubbed it back and forth, grinning. "The power of friction," Whende explained.

"Animal Farm? What's an animal farm? Like with pigs and that?" She paused to think. "Any story."

"It's OWLs this years for me," Patrick said sounding slightly nervous.

"Grrrrrrrrrr" he said as Whende's neck rubbing made his voice vibrate more than normal. "Thhhheeee powweerrrrrrrr of frrrrrriiiitionnnn makkkessss meeee talkkkk funnnyyyyy." he said sounding as if he were speaking into a rotating fan.

"Yeahhhhh, communistttttt pigggs," Patrick said putting his free hand on the top of When's head to make it stop frictionising his voice.

“Now see… I stink at potions. I’m lucky I don’t blow up the potions lab. Give me a charm or a spell and I have no problem with it… I guess having to make something up myself just throws me for a loop. Maybe it’s I’m just not good at the preciseness of it…or something.. I don’t know. Is it really sad that my strongest subjects are probably the most boring like History of Magic and Muggle Studies?” Kerry laughed…”what will I ever do with those?”

“Yeah I feel the same exact way. I’m trying not to wait til the last minute to study and get caught cramming. Although…something tells me that’s going to happen anyway.”

"Communist pigs on an animal farm? That's a weird book," she concluded. When giggled. "Power of friction makes your throat sound nice." Then his hand was ontop of her head and there was no more power of friction.

"OWLs," she repeated. "They're all icky tests, just the same." They made her brain confused. "I'll probably end up cramming too."

She laughed. "Potions. See this?" When tugged at a lock of loose hair. "This was a potion too." She beamed and let her hand drop back down to Patrick's. "Nope. Not at all. I love Muggle Studies. We get to draw stick figures and abstract art."

"I'm alright at spell-casting but nowhere as good as people like Cassandra," Patrick said. "Unfortunately, she also my biggest rival in potions." he said shaking his head sadly. "Become a muggle historian," he said grinning. "Cramming, I do it all the time."

"Yeah, I guess it is kinda weird," he said shrugging. "I like my neck un-eroded if you please,"he said keeping a firm hand on When's head. "Yeah Muggle Studies is fun sometimes." he said smiling.

"You're sure great at hexing people," Whende grumbled. She was only teasing a little bit. Maybe 6% of her tone was tease. "Right." When said. "Because if it eroded it would ooze guts and vocal cords." She paused, a slight smile tugging at the edges of her mouth. "The power of friction," she said under breath, rubbing her hand against his back. "Muaha."

"When have I hexed people?" he asked sniffing as if offended but smiling all the same. "Well if my asparagus starts bleeding it'll be your fault," he whispered back when she restarted friction.

"A muggle historian...yeah there's a fun job." Kerry said sarcastically. "I don't know..perhaps I'll work at the Ministry ...something with muggles affairs or something. They are quite fascinating..it could be fun."


Not sure if Whende was talking to her or not, Kerry couldn't help but jump in at that comment. "Shhh... don't tell anyone ...that's my well guarded secret. It's more fun to throw a hex at someone when they're not looking." Kerry laughed. "Shocking, I know ...coming from a prefect, but come on.. you can't say that most of the students around here feel that way." Kerry laughed.

"Maybe you've actually grown" Agie laughed. " Nahh, you're right, they are tiny"

Agie loved to see that she was getting to Kerry, but there was no way she'd give up her cruppy. Even if her sister was the prefect. "You will not go near him, I'll tell him to bite you if you touch him. And I'm not taking him down to the animal hospital...He is MINE" Agie said firmly.

When frowned. "Nevermind then," she said. Though she was pretty sure, no basically positive that it had been in her second term. She looked up at him, blinking several times. "You have an asparagus in your shirt?" she asked, her face dead serious. Whende looked down a blinked some more. "Kerry? Hexing? Scandelous," she teased.

Patrick looked shocked for a minute, then, "Tsk, tsk, Kerry, you'll get your post taken away," he said shaking his head. "Yeah, muggles must be fascinating if you aren't one. I'm half-blood so I know all I need to know." "NO, not in my shirt my appendix is my asparagus," he said teasingly to Whende.

“Grown?? Yeah… I only wish. You got the tall genes in the family..not me.” Kerry laughed shaking her head.

Kerry just rolled her eyes at Agie’s threats. “Ahhh revenge is sweet my dear sister…revenge is sweet.”

Kerry laughed. “Shhh… don’t let my secret get out. We don’t want everyone to fear me or anything. Besides.. It’s mostly Agie I practice on anyway.” Kerry said in a fit of laughter. "Although Agie will never admit to it... she's too embarrassed to admit her big sister can be just as mischievious as she is at times."

"Muggles are nice," When agreed. She wasn't going any further than nice. "You're appendix?" Truly, the configuration of his back was completely and totally confusing. "So, is your appendix down here?" She started just above the base of his spine, walking her fingers slowly toward the top. "Or more up here? How about here?"

"You're secret is safe with me." Whende grinned. "I'll lock my mouth and throw away the key." She took another step up Patrick's back. "What about there?"

"Nah... I don't really go around hexing people behind their backs and siblings don't really count, so I don't think I have any reason to worry about my post being taken away. Although it would be tempting on some of the trouble makers at times. I had to stun a young slytherin the other night in the great hall. I felt horrible but she was hitting some Huffies with some spells.. I can't even remember. It was the only thing I could do to stop her..since I couldn't seem to get there fast enough. Man...what is it this term? Is it me, or are some of the students a bit ummm.. more brazen...shall we say?" Kerry said shaking her head. "I'm just glad Gryffindors are staying out of trouble this term.

Hearing that Patrick was a half blood, Kerry perked up. "Ooh, so are Agie and I, but we don't spend a whole lot of time with our muggle side of the family or in the muggle world, so we only know a bit of what we've seen and heard."


"Well, the muggles I've met so far are nice...though a bit erm... wacky - but hey, that's what makes them so fascinating, and thanks for keeping my little secret. It saves me from hexing you, then." Kerry teased.

Patrick put a hand behind his back and guided When's to the left side of his waist. "There," he said. "Yeah, every year they seem to get more and more rowdy," Patrick said nodding in agreement with Kerry. "I go muggle during the summer so I know everything about muggles," he said sounding disinterested. "I guess it's for my own good but I'd like to at least get the Daily Prophet over the summer but my dad said that living in cities is bad for owls so he won't let me use Kagami and he sends her out into the countryside a lot.

"Brazen, yeah," When nodded. "Here?" She barely had time to walk her fingers up another step before he'd led her to the correct spot. "So, you've got an appendix with an asparagus in your waist?" she asked. Her eyebrows went up again. "I go..." What did she go during the summer? "I go hermit every summer."

"No just an asparagus," he said laughing. "Oh yeah, you still living in your cave?" Trick asked. he'd forgotten about When's yearly cavelife.

"Yep. In my cave." She chewed on her lower lip. "I didn't live there very long this year, though." She'd been back to DA pretty dern fast. When absently ran her thumb against his hand. "What does an asparagus look like, then?" she asked.

"I spent this summer in Glasgow. I live there now. On Great Western Road." Patrick said to Kerry mostly but a bit to Whende as well."Well, mine looks like a potato, but everybody has a different shape," Patrick said nodding solemnly.
