Josh misunderstood her question and she knew this when he gave his answer. She wasn't so sure if now would have been the best time to go after Amos or not. She hoped that Josh would give her some "guy" insight.

She turned her head up the hill and saw Amos had stopped and looked doubled over with pain. She sighed heavily then turned back to Josh. "Will you -- just make sure that it goes ok? I mean I don't think he'd ever hurt me but -- just in case -- will you?"

She nodded her head when he said he'd keep an eye on things and she slowly turned around and walked up the hill. Amos was sitting against the tree she was just at. Ironic. She stood at his feet and looked down where he sat.

"Can I talk to you?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

*He looked up at her.* "Yeah..." *He then looked back down waiting.*

Josh nodded and added.' Yeah im here. " he told her as he gave her a smile and rubbed her arm for a second. He pulled her over to becky and smiled. " Hey alright sorry." he siad to becky as he kept an eye on kate and amos. Ready to jump in at any moment.

"it's alright but don't ever do that again Josh Moonson" Becky said still looking a bit worried "I've already seen one of my friends do that and i would rather not have to watch another. Having that happen to Jayden was shocking enough. I don't think I'd be able to handle having to take you to the hospital wing too"

Kate went down on her knees infront of him. "This is going to sound rediculous but -- just hear me out -- please?"

"It must have looked horrible," she began. "To see what you saw in that rediculous paper. It's true I still care for Josh, Amos. I can't lie to you about that, but please listen to my reasons why."

"When I came to Hogwarts I was already a broken girl -- damaged from my father's marriage and being ignored by the one person I thought I could count on for the rest of my life. I came her not wanting to be close to anyone. I was here to learn and study and get ahead in life so I could make something of myself and one day prove to my idiotic step-mother that Wizards are fantastic in what they do."

"I had made a few friends while I was in Diagon Alley. Cameron, Camira, Lawliet and you of course. But I still hadn't really let myself be open with anyone. I didn't want to let anyone in. If I did -- I knew I'd only end up hurting myself all over again and I wanted to avoid that fate at all costs."

"Josh was a turning point for me. He made me see how important it is to let people in so they can help you. Not all people are going to be like my father and my step-mother. If it hadn't been for Josh I probably would have suffered through our 7 years at Hogwarts -- and quite possibly the rest of my life -- feeling completely alone."

"Josh has made it perfectly clear that --" she chose her words carefully. "-- that we will always be -- just friends. The kiss was an accident on both our parts. But I was the one who acted on it, and I was the one who asked. If you're to be angry with anyone, be angry with me. Not Josh. A friendship like the one you two have is not worth loosing because of some stupid girl like me. He was so concerned after the fact -- he knew that there was a strong bond of trust between you two and he was well aware he broke it. It's not his fault at all --"

She drew in another sharp, cold breath that stung her painfully.

"It's my fault -- I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Amos. You have to belive me that I would never want to hurt you. Ever --" her voice was breaking now but she wasn't about to cry. She didn't deserve it. She was the one who'd caused the trouble -- caused Josh to continue his not so great day and caused Amos to feel this way.

*He sighed and looked down.* "Did you ever think what you doing might do to me... What if I went off and snogged Wednesday or Tuesday?"

*He looked up to her.*

"I understand that you two were close but... I thought that...

You were the only person who liked me for who I was. It felt good to have someone not care how smart, strong, fast, or anything I was... I could never be mad at you... but... I thought after Josh that... that you cared for me..." *He kept his eyes on her.*

"Where do I stand with you now? To me it looks like I was some toy to play with for awhile. What am I to think now Kate? I still-..." *He didn't know what to say. He was in so much pain.
Kate was one of the few people he could talk to openly about feelings. But this was a blow he never saw coming. At that moment his fathers voice rang in his ears.

You've always been such a stupid boy, being so trusting. It will kill you one day Amos Romulus.

He could hear his father laughing. He always did find it funny when Amos talked or showed his feelings. He turned back to Kate trying to push away the sword in his back and heart feeling.*

Im sorry... amos pulled me into the water. I had no plan of jumping in. Or falling in for that matter. Whatever it was."he said to her as he sighed." Im not going anywhere. You would really have to wack me hard to get rid of me." he said as he nudged her. " You alright?" he asked her.

"yea i'm ok. I've been feeling a bit...off i guess lately" Becky looked at him "everything seems to be crashing down around me and then I'm left standing. Ryan's gone. Sam's gone. Amy's gone. Jayden is so broken up about Ali that he might be here but his mind is elsewhere. Then seeing that didn't exactly bring back good memories." She looked at him and smiled slightly "I'm glad you are ok though. Superwoman is using up all of her superpowers on everyone else. everyone just seems to be really down lately, and of course I'm the one that everyone turns to,which i don't mind I hate seeing my friends upset. And god knows you all listen to my problems, which you are doing right now so i'll jsut stop rambling now." Her face got red. She hated when she did that, gets worried and nervous then jsut rambles on and on...

Josh gave her a sweet smile." its alright. i dont mind." he told her as he then moved to give her a hug. " i dont mind listening. some needs to listen to you. and you cant talk to them about them so thats not going to work. So here i am." he told her as he was here for her. " talk away. "

Becky couldnt help but smile back and returned the hug. "I just I feel like I'm falling, like just falling and that one by one the people that i think would be there to catch me just keep disappearing. I though i would be able to count on ryan for anything, tha h wouldn't even have let me fall...not even trip and then we broke up and it was like the whole world came crashing down. then i met Sam and then he broke up with me ad that was the end of that and my best friend Amy i rarely see anymore and then there is Jayden and i know i can count on him for anything but he is having a lot of his own problems and i do't want to make things worse by telling him mine. and then there is you and you've got your own problems too and I just. I don't know what to do, I really don't. I ca't go home once school's out, unless i want to be my father's punching bag again. And Ryan told me i could stay with him even after we broke up but i haven't seen him. And Sam offered to but that would be awkward. And Jayden offered to beat up my father which i couldn't let him and I'm just really confused and nervous and oh i don't even know anymore" with that Becky sat down in the snow and pulled her knees up to her chest looking at the lake "well that made me feel a little better"

You can always crash on me. Im here. When your tired of being superwoman i'll be your superman." he told her with a smile. She had to have someone, everyone did. Even if he problems of his own he wouldnt mind to take time to help a friend. Thats who he was. He was there for his friends, even if it meant ignoring himself for it. "well if you havent found a place when school ends you can come stay with us. Mind you i have two brothers and they like to make noise , but if you can handle them then you'll do just fine. " he said with a smile." I mean minus the insane muggle mother and the two other insane brothers the place isnt half that bad. Besides my dad is never home. " he said then sitting next to her so she could lean on something if she needed.

Becky looked up at him an smiled "i dunno being my superman will be pretty tough. Are you up for the challenge?" she looked out over the lake smirking when he talked about his brothers "well i'm an only child so that would be rather interesting. I don't want to intrude though. I can always stay at the Leaky cauldron, with all teh weirdos." She glanced over at him and saw that he was sitting next to her. she leaned against him with her head on his shoulder "thanks Josh"

yep im up for the challenge. " he told her as he then smiled,' Yeah its an interesting adventure thats for sure.brother are a bit insane."he told her as he then smiled." you should stay at our house. Its full of insane people but not weirdos. Close , but not exactly the same. " he joked as he was glad that she leaned on him. she needed someone to let her do it. " No promblem ." he told her.

Kate’s stomach churned uncomfortably. She hadn’t really thought about how she’d feel if Amos kissed any other girl. Josh probably would have killed him if he kissed Tuesday, but she wasn’t going to voice that. Saying Josh’s name at this point in time probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do.

The pain in his eyes was too much for her to handle, and her heart was shattering all over again. “Amos, don’t you dare think that you’re nothing more to me that just a toy. I can imagine, giving the current situation that you feel that way, but you have to believe me when I say that I care for you deeply; More now than ever. The timing with Josh and I just – wasn’t right.” It didn’t feel the greatest to say this about Josh, but it was true. As far as right now goes – and Kate had to accept it – Her and Josh were not going to be together.

She drew in a shaky breath, and felt her body trembling as she sat on her knees, staring into the eyes of one of the few people who truly cared for her. “I didn’t do this to leave you, Amos,” she said quietly. “I never intended on leaving you – please believe that.”

She tucked her hair behind her ears, and this time her eyes focused on the ground. “It’s your decision,” she said, her voice dropping to a whisper again. “I was the one acted. If you don’t want to work this out and don’t want to stay I – I’ll understand.”

"well they can't be any worse than my parents" Becky looked up at him and glanced down at the ground, her head still on his shoulder. The thought of her parents made her frustrated and confused inside. She absolutely hated how they treated her, like a piece of dirt. Tears of anger formed in her eyes as she ried to fight them back. "i just...i don't understand. How can you treat your own daughter like that. Like she's some...punching bag that you take your anger out on, just because I'm a witch and i'm different. I hate it and i hate them." The anger just kept building up inside of her and she formed a snowball and threw it hard against a nearby tree. She continued to throw snowballs at the tree, and tears she was trying to fight back were now running freely down her cheeks and she just broke down holding her head in her hands "Josh I don't understand. What did I do to deserve that?"

Josh sighed as she started crying. he didnt like to see people crying. He moved pull her into a hug." Im sorry your parents do this to you. You dont deserve it and you've done nothing wrong. Your a great person becky. Look you saved someone lives and mine if no one was there. Your there for friends even when you dont want to be. Thats not meant to be taken lightly.Your parents are just jerks and dont see how great you are. Some day they will realize it. What they've missed. Then you can be the one laughing because they ignored something awesome in their life. You dont deserve any of it...unfortunately thats how it goes sometimes. But we fight through it and learn how to hex them. Then everything is better." he said with a small smile.

As he pulled her into a hug, she buried her head in his chest listening to him. She sobbed silently as he talked knowing that everything he said was true. She laughed through her crying at his last statement and looked up at him and smiled "I'm not so sure hexing them will change anything but it's a nice thought. I'm just ready for this term to be over so I can restart."

He gave her a smile." Yeah maybe not changing anything, but i thought it would help put a smile on your face." he told her as he nodded in agreement." Yes that would be very nice. I am waiting for it." he told her. he couldnt wait to go home to see his older brother. It seemed like he was the only one he could trust.

Becky sat up wiping the tears from her eyes which were by this time extremely red and puffy. She smiled at him "well superman your plan worked. I'm sorry i just completely broke down. I know guys don't exactly enjoy watching girls cry. And now i must look pretty bad. You better not look at me, I might have the effects of Medusa and turn you to stone or something" She giggled wiping away the last of her tears. "hopefull I don't look that bad"

Im glad it worked. Its alright. I dont mind being here for you especially since you need someone. Im always here. " he had a little laugh." I dont mind the crying as long as its not painful crying. Thats what we dont like. Happy crying is just fine."he told her as it was his own personally opinion. Though he had to admit he didnt quite know how to respond well to crying.
