Professor Branxton walked to the far end of the lake and stood in the shadow of a large oak. It was an out of the way kind of place to meet without looking like they meant to be out of the way. Perfect. Now all he needed were Lainey and the children. He stood in his pristine outfit and shiny shoes and flicked his wand absently, banishing dust from the edge of his robes from his walk outside. | |

It gave the hem a bit of sheen that he disliked but, it was inevitable that he would be unable to have any charmless garments being the father of toddler twins. He looked up and then around. "A fine day for just about anything but snowball fights."

Aschere saw the professors standing by the lake and went towards them. They seemed to be talking in code, for all she could make out.
The lake stretched out beside them, a huge, flat expanse of shimmering water. Little wavelets appeared with the light breeze, and lapped against the shore.

At that very moment, a hastily-formed snowball came whizzing past Doyle's ear and smacked Professor Lainey in the shoulder.
Tag had intended the snowball to merely graze the two professors as a joke. . . but his aim was not so good with snowballs as with quaffles.
"Whoops," he called from the nearby tree, where he'd been sitting and collecting insects. "Ahm. . . sorry! Crazy weather we're having lately, isn't it?"
Get ready to run.

It was late in the day when Rosalie finally got herself out of her Pajama's and into real clothing. She'd coerced a girl in the dormitory to braid her waist length, auburn hair for her, which was much preferable to doing it herself.
Rosalie was walking around the edge of the lake in four inch, spiked heals, no easy task of course, but one she did often enough. It didn't seem to phase her nearly as much as the cold air did. Her fur lined robes were hugged tightly around her thin frame, her brown eyes downcast, watching the ground as she ambled along.
When her eyes fell on two pares of feet, she looked up to find Professors Branxton and Lainey. It seemed normal enough to see the History of Magic Professor...but Branxton?
"Erm...hello..." She said, feeling mildly awkward about this particular encounter.

Ryan slowly walked down past two professors who seemed deep in conversation he was just passing by when he saw snow he wondered why there was snow must have been some crazy weather they were having. Ryan saw Tag throwing snowballs and made a snowball and threw it hard at Tag's back

Where was her naughty, dirt-filled, bug-collecting, quidditch-loving, foolishly-charming boyfriend of hers anyways? She planted herself nearby a tree, students littered (hehe) casually everywhere and in the near distance she could spot Professor Lainey and Professor Branxton.
Then a white blur was flying across the sky---towards Lainey. Looking up at the nearby tree, she cocked one brow at the gunner/snowball thrower.
"You like trees, don't you?"
It was clearly, a rhetorical question. | |

Ryan walks by toward the lake when he notice two professors. One of them he could easily remember as professor Branxton but the other one wasn't someone he could remember that well. He didn't believe that he met that one the previous term or if it was the case it was a period extremely short. Stuffing the letter that he just received, he walks toward them. "Hello professors. What a lovely day outside.... don't you think ??"
Leaning down in order to get some snow in his hand. He could feel that with Tag having throw the first snowball this could easily end up with something very interesting.

Professor Branxton frowned, clearly not pleased. He would have given the boy detention but, the crime had been committed against Lainey so there was little he could do if she did not feel the need to discipline the boy. "Did you manage to find many other trustworthy students to join us?" he asked, though it was clear word had gotten around when he saw others come up to stand with them.

In the blizzard of snowballs that suddenly seemed to have started flying all over the place, one of them hit a branch of the Oak tree right above her, showering snow all over everyone under it.
Aschere squealed from the shock and then recovered in time to start making some of her own ammo.
A manic grin appeared on her face as she spotted the person responsible, aimed, and fired.
Satisfied, she turned back to looking perfectly innocent, while trying to dust the snow off.

Curious what this pare was doing outside, Rosalie decided to stick around and watch. A ways away, she saw a girl in her year, a Gryffindor whose name she’d never known, who was sitting by a tree. That seemed innocent enough. Rosalie headed towards a rock by the edge of the lake, and sat down on it, keeping her booted feet on the ground.
From where she was perched, she watched the students throwing snowballs at the Professors, talking, and the others observing like she was. Anything that would bring Professor Branxton outside had to be worth watching.

She settled down, trying to avoid the snowballs to protect Herc, and gentyl started to stroke her pet.

"I may save the trees, but the trees won't save me now," Tag muttered to the redhead beneath him. He dropped from the branch onto the fall grass below. Perhaps it would have been more prudent to book it back towards the castle and hope that Lainey had somehow forgotten the way to her House tower. However, it was also common knowledge that Professor Lainey was completely off her rocker. Tag did not want to die a premature death. Not in the prime of his Quidditch career. He grabbed Bucky's hand for support.
He sauntered slowly up to the two professors, attempting to be casual. "Professor Branxton! Professor Lainey. . . what a pleasant day for a. . . " Private rendevue between two unlikely staff members? He blinked at the other students who were drawing near. "Fall picnic?" Yes, that must be it.

Ari, who had just ambled down by chance, had noticed the snow. SNOW! Nature's fluffy dandruff, and there was lots of it! SNOW! FLUFFY SNOW!
Ari started singing an odd, tuneless little song that went along the lines of - "Snow snow snow snow snow snow snooooow!".
Needless to say, Arian Haf Morgan was crazy.

Celestina found herself reluctantly before Professor Branxton and professor Lainey. From gathering facial expression she could tell that Lainey wasn't all too bothered about being assaulted by a snowball. Which was to be expected. The woman did like to play...and Bucky shivered at the thought of the paint war last term.
Branxton though...he looked tense. But then again, every time she had seen him, he had looked the same. Maybe he suffered from constipation.
"Nice day, huh, Professor Lainey? No bears either."

Branxton cleared his throat. "If I could have your attention, please," he began and waited for things to settle down. "If you are merely here to play in the early snow, please go elsewhere. However, if you would like to join Professor Lainey and myself on the Redecoration Committee, please stay so that we can plan and coordinate our... efforts," he said, firmly deciding against 'attack' which offered the wrong connotations.

Aschere decided to go over to the tree and sit down with some of the other students already gathered there, and wait for whatever was about to happen. She smiled as she watched the others fooling around in the snow, and watched in wonder as more and more students gathered around the oak tree. She was beginning to get an inkling what this was all about, and felt a little rush of excitement.
She sat down, chin on hands, and watched.

Celestina gripped Tag's hand tighter and bumped it against her thigh. Redecorating Committee, huh? Bucky looked around her casually. The folks lounging around didn't seem very stylish. Poor Hogwarts. It wasn't going to exactly be Pimped Out was it?
"Redecorating?" She inquired cautiously. "As in...for the Holidays? I claim the tree!" She declared raising her free hand. If Lainey was involved it was bound to be insane. But...a little bit fun.
Just a little bit. Then she was being pulled into a hug. And Lainey explained further and she couldn't help but think it was a good idea even though the grin on the Professor's face looked exactly like the one she gave her before she shoved her head in the lake...
"I still get the tree...right?"

Lainey pulled Bucky into a side hug, hugging her tight with one arm. "You'll like this. No bears," she whispered while Doyle had called attention.
"I think we all owe a bit of.. ah... gratitude to our Minister of Magic, Brennan Cooper," Lainey spoke loudly, continuing what Doyle had started. "He's so graciously sent us a member of his own team to help out here in the school." If the students couldn't see that Lainey was up to NO good, they were clinically blind. "Bit of... Hogwarts hospitality. Re-decorating to suit tastes." Lainey smiled innocently.
