Excelsior was excited and surprised to see that he was the first student to enter the classroom. He read the bulletin board and began to prepare his presentation of what he would like to say regarding this subject. He waited for other students to arrive so the discussion could begin.

Ray entered the classroom there was one person, after he saluted him, he read the board, there final homework was this, he needed more people, so he just got back and stood next to the boy.

Ryan sprinted in, tripping over a shoelace as had become the norm for her entrances into classrooms just lately. She read the board, her head tilted to one side.
Not quite a practical lesson, but at least it's not written, Ryan thought gladly, turning to Ray.
'I've just got one thing to say, at this particular moment in time...and it's that I am never Stupefying Muggles again,' she mused, a small smile appearing on her pale face. 'They really give you the Evils'.

Ray laughed when Ryan commented on the muggles, he has been there and done it once when he was a kid it was by accident but yes he did stufy muggles before.
"Hey Ryan so how are you?"

'Mmm, I'm alright. So, I s'pose we should get on with what Professor Light wants us to do. Well....I think that both the wizarding world and the Muggle world would be much better places, but I doubt that Muggles are quite ready to be introduced to them just yet, don't you think? And maybe the same can be said about the magical folk. But all this hatred is wrong, and I was wrong to do what I did down in the Great Hall, so....yes. We need to live in harmony together, but I think we need to spend more time apart before we can do that. Absence makes the heart grown fonder, and all that. Maybe if the wizards stopped being told terrible tales about Muggles, and vice versa for the Muggles, we could all start gradually accepting each other....' Ryan said, her eyes glazing over as she got completely lost in what she was saying.

Mary came in the class, her eyes twinkling.She looked at the sign written by the Professor and then looked around.She was the only Gryffindor there.'It could be fun.' she thought.

"I totally agree with you Ryan but there is something that doesn't fit in all of this, you see I had experience with muggles that knew about magic and witchcraft, you can't believe how much they relay on you to do there jobs just because it is easier when we are casting spells and this is the reason why wizards should wait more before revealing themself to the muggle commuty. Plus don't forget that muggles are always afraid of what is more powerful than what they are, this is why they refuse us and just won't believe that we are as good as they are, they have this ideas that just because we can practice magic we worship the Devil and some other powers and forces... So yes I do believe that muggles and wizards have live in harmony but it is too soon for that not before muggles learn to trust and accept us for what we are..." Ray replied after Ryan finished.

"One of the big problems with muggles, as we've found out, is that they are jealous of our powers and want to be like us. They don't understand the magic that we have, they want to use it for themselves and be as powerful as we are. There has to be some kind of way to communicate with them that the fact is we are different, we couldn't build the kind of technologies and things that they have. Muggles have actually made some pretty amazing inventions along the way," Excelsior said, thinking about electricity, computers, cars and iPods.

"But, the future in dealing with muggles. We have got to find a way to communicate with them and share and recognize our differences, and that we are both valuable and serve a real need in this world", he concluded.

"Yes right!" said Ray at the boy just, "By the way my name is Ray Hufflepuff"

"Very nice to meet you, Ray," Excelsior greeted. "I'm Excelsior Black, Slytherin. It's nice to meet another first year, it's surprising how few people I actually know here!"

Ryan nodded, taking out a small LED light torch she carried around with her in a pocket.
'This is a Muggle thing,' she said, holding it by the keychain. 'Doesn't work at Hogwarts, of course, but you have to admit that Muggles have their own way of making magic. They deserve to be accepted, but only if they are gracious enough to accept us'.
She then noted that they were on the subject of introductions. 'Ryan Carter, although I've no doubt you already know that!'.

"Exactly!", Excelsior agreed. "They can't be jealous of our power, they have to understand that the powers we have are - different. It doesn't necessarily mean that we are better than they are, we're just different from them." Excelsior winked. "Of course, we know that we're better in a lot of ways, but we don't have to tell them that. There is a lot to be said for their sheer inventiveness. I couldn't have made anything like that," he said, looking at the keychain.

"So, I guess the big question is, how do we ever get to that point where muggles and wizards understand one another and work together in peace?"

'Like I said, it'll take time and patience on both sides. There is good and bad in everyone, wizards and Muggles alike, and we're all different. Maybe that's where we could start; agreeing that no-one is the same, and we all have good and bad. Not all wizards are bad, not all wizards are good. It's exactly the same with Muggles,' Ryan theorised, smiling.

"Well that is the hardest thing, there is no way to make human understand our power if we do not shows and reveal to them what we... But in time I think that human will eventualy understand that we are just like them, that we can help them in medicine and technology as they can help us, there will be a moment in time where muggles and wizards will have to work together to save themself, don't you think?" asked Ray finally

"I agree with both of you," Excelsior said thoughtfully. There are already a few examples of wizards who are working with muggles in very important ways right now. Look at Professor Forrester, just as an example. He has worked with the muggles on the space program, which is very, very important to both our technologies. That shows that wizards and muggles are capable of working together at finding solutions. It just takes time and understanding."

'S'bound to happen sometime. Muggle and Wizard, as equals, fighting together for something they both want......that's it! We just need common ground to start from! With the mob, they were angry and waving pitchforks and adults, while we were....well, relatively calm, for a while....and young and trying to protect ourselves and the school. We shared no likenesses, and that's exactly what we need!' Ryan cried, her face bright and happy.

"Exactly! Rather than working apart from each other, as both sides were in that situation, we simply need to have understanding of each other and work together. The muggles have such little understanding of wizardry, and situations like that wouldn't occur if they did," Excelsior said with a sigh. "That is really horrible, what the muggles tried to do. They need to know more about us, but how much information is too much?"

"Right I think that you have a point, muggles should now that there is a limit to our potential, that we can't help them raise there death or cure everything, they should now about our civilisation...our history and the influence it had on there history and vice-versa, they must know that we aren't here to take over them and that we need to come to an understanding, and in there turn they need to tell us about what they can do and what happened to them as well" Ray replied.

'Well....I think the Muggles only deserve to know as much as they tell us. It's fair, so that no-one will get locked up in a one-sided thing where information can be used against us or them. But Muggles can't really expect us to welcome them in with open arms...I mean, look at all the witch-burning there was back in the olden days! Fair enough, the wizards and witches used a simple tickling charm so that they came to no harm, but that's hardly the point,' Ryan said, smiling. A lesson that involves talking, she thought. One of the best lessons ever.

Excelsior groaned. "That's true, and they wonder why we don't exactly embrace them. The Salem Witch Trials are an excellent example of that. Clearly, there is a lot that needs to be worked out, and I don't think they need to know everything about what we're capable of doing. I don't know whether it would serve them any good if they knew about the unforgivables, for example, that would really freak them out! There are some things that I don't think they can ever handle."

Excelsior couldn't believe they were having such a good discussion with only three people.

"Yes Ryan but if we want to live in harmony w need to forget our past, we can hang in the past and expect something". Ray said quickly.

Amelia was still a bit in shock that Professor Light was not teaching the class today. It seemed many of the teachers this term were having independent study classes, which was probably due to the disappearance of the twins, and other strange happenings. Finally, not wanting to miss out on points, she spoke about the topic of improving muggle-wizard relations.

"Well, I think that muggles should be required to take a history of magic class, as we take a muggle studies class. That would just be for starters, because it would allow them to learn more about our lifestyles and that we're not all evil; we were just born with supernatural abilities.

Also, just as there is a muggle government and a ministry of magic, I think there should also be a government developed purposely for wizard-muggle relations. There could be both a muggle and a wizard in charge, which would improve communication between the two communities."

Amelia paused thoughtfully, listening to what the other students had to say.

"Wow," Excelsior said, impressed. "Those are really excellent ideas. I think those things just might be the answer."

Ryan nodded, agreeing with Excelsior.
'Fantastic ideas!' she enthused, grinning. 'I'm Ryan Carter, by the way. I think a Muggle-Magic Ministry would be an amazing idea'.
She leaned against the wall, wondering if maybe, just maybe, she would be able to sneak a few minutes of sleep? She decided against it, but didn't continue with her sentence.
