In front of the front desk counter there are long oak tables, like the ones in the Great Hall, that span the length of the library. However, these are surrounded by bookcases laden with texts. Some students begin sitting down on the bench and taking out their homework ready to get started on their work. Others obtain large reference texts before settling down in their spots. Others have formed small study groups and begin conversing in a soft whisper about their newest assignment.

Rapunzel noticed Cameron peeking at him out of the corner of her eye. She smiled to herself and continued working, until a question stumped her. She thrust her quill down with a sigh and leaned back in her cushiony chair, bored.
She chanced a glance at Cameron's work out of the corner of his eye. Rapunzel wasn't very good at being coy, so she flat out asked, "Whatcha working on?"

Working on his homework he heard Rapunzel suddenly blurt out. He laughed and pushed his homework toward her. "Charms. Its not that hard." He said. He took out his wandpointing it toward the celing he muttered a few words and a daisy fell out. He smiled and handed it to Rapunzel. "Isnt magic amazing?" he asked. Rapunzel blushed ridiculously red and daintily accepted the flower. She smelled it appreciatively and then gently lowered it to the desk.
"Why yes, I love magic," she whispered, and conjured a thin vase from the air. She filled it with water, one of the spells she was best at, and then slipped the daisy into the vase.
With a sigh, she admired her work and grinned at Cameron. He had such infectious, charming smiles......
"Charms is probably my favorite subject," she mumbled. "It's a real shame about Professor Branxton's girls missing though, isn't it?"

Rapunzel was about to reply, but prompty closed her mouth in confusion. What did he mean, exactly? Hate what? Her blonde hair was really getting to her now, as Rapunzel had really no idea what Cameron was talking about.
"Er...do you mean...the kids missing?? Is that what you were referring to when you said you hate...it?" she asked with a slight frown. "I'm afraid I don't follow," she added hesitantly, hoping that he wouldn't find her stupid. For some odd reason, this boy's opinion mattered very much to her.

Rapunzel blushed again, her whole face turning red, all the way to the roots of her hair. Was he talking about her? Could he? Or was that too much to hope for?
She stared down into her lap where she had been subconsciously shredding the daisy. Her wavy hair fell down into her face, creating a half-shield around her emerald eyes. She chanced a glance back up at Cameron, and couldn't help but grin herself.
"Yeah, I know what you mean," she replied faintly. "All the good stuff happens at the end...." she sighed wistfully, then added a cheerful thought with a wink. "There's always next year though......."

Rapunzel felt flushed where Cameron had touched her but she made no move to brush him away. Gently, she removed his hand and placed her own slender one on top of it in a comforting gesture. She felt terribly embarassed about prying into his friend's life and was shocked to hear his unexpected response.
"Oh," she replied very quietly. She knew what it was like to lose a loved one, although loss was a touchy subject with most people. "I'm so sorry to hear that, Cameron. How...how is she doing?"
