'Go you idiot!', his head screamed. He got up and started after her. "Hey Mia! Wait up! I'm in!", he said and hurried after her. |
Evangeline stepped into the library, her bag slung over her right shoulder. Her dark hair was down and her pale face showed no emotion regardless the ocean of emotions she was feeling. She seemed to be struggling slightly with the weight of her bag. When she finally reached the library study tables Evangeline slid her bag onto the table and slipped into a chair. She sighed rummaged around for some parchment and ink. |
Olivia selected a book from the shelf that she had been staring at for almost a half hour. She finally decided that she should stop staring at it before her eyes crossed. With a small sigh she walked around the shelfs to where the tables sat. A smile crept to her face when she saw Evangeline, the girl she had met at the lake last night. She walked up to Evangeline's table and smiled down at her, "Would you mind if I sat with you?" she asked quietly. |
Evangeline's hand had just curled around a spare piece of parchment when she heard someone talking to her. She looked upwards and found the girl she had met in the lake after the Quidditch game. What was her name again? Orl.. no, no. Olivia. That’s it. “Hi Olivia” – she returned the smile. “No, of course not.” – Evangeline shook her head. “I was just working on my Transfiguration essay. After we lost the game, I thought that Slytherin could use some more points” – she shrugged looking back at her parchment. |
Olivia smiled as she sat, "Are you any good at Transfiguration?" she asked, placing her book on the table with a loud thunk. "Oops." she whispered. Looking back at Evangeline, she shrugged, "I'm not that good at it myself, I prefer Potions class." she added. |
Evangeline nodded. “I guess so. I can handle the Switching Spells pretty well by now” – she stated scribbling a few notes on the parchment she had laid out onto the table. “I still have a few problems when it comes to transfigure some non-living things into a living being. The results are always weird” – she chuckled a little looking over at Olivia. “Potions? I like Potions as well” – she nodded again. “But I still prefer Transfiguration.” – Evangeline remarked. |
Olivia shrugged, "Well to each his own." she said with a smile. "So, whatever happened to those people who were sick last night? Did that one boy, Ryan was it, did he ever go to the hospital?" she asked, hoping that Evangeline wouldn't take it as an invasion of privacy. |
Evangeline nodded to Olivia’s remark as she glanced carefully at her notes. She was making small corrections here and there when Olivia asked the next question. She stopped scribbling and thought for a second still looking at the parchment. She didn’t remember if they went to the Hospital or not. Wait, she had heard something about it. Finally she looked up at Olivia. “Well,” – she started slowly. “I’m not exactly sure, but I think Ryan went to Hospital Wing. At least I saw him in the Common Room and he seemed just fine” – Evangeline told her. “As for Jen, I don’t know. I haven’t seen her since that night” – she finished. |
Olivia smiled and nodded slightly, "Well that's good, I'm glad that they are both all right, or at least we think they are." she added with a small laugh. Opening her book she looked at the front page and rubbed her temples as she focused and un focused her eyes, "I have got to make decisions quicker." she said to Evangeline, "I was looking at that book shelf for so long that my eyes crossed." |
Evangeline chuckled and looked down at Olivia’s book. “If you think you take too long, you should see me trying to buy a book.” – she told Olivia. “One day, when I was in the Diagon Alley, I spent the entire day at Flourish & Blotts browsing the bookshelves and trying to find some good book to buy. Clifford didn’t even believe when I told him.” – she giggled and her eyes twinkled at the mention of Cliff. “Anyway, I ended up buying 10 books in that day” – she admitted amused by her own behaviour. "What is the book about?" - she asked Olivia trying to catch a better glance at the cover. |
Olivia smiled, "I understand I am exactly the same way, I could spend an entire day inside that shop, and when I leave I have to get some people to help me carry my books." she said with a laugh. Closing her heavy book she smiled, "Well, this book is about becoming an animagus. It interests me quite a lot. I would love to try to become one." |
Evangeline’s face lightened up. “Really? That’s great.” Evangeline was genuinely happy. She had never found anyone that shared her love for books. Well, except her mother. Someone from her own age and that shared her absolute love for books was unusual. Everybody seemed to be too dazzled with Quidditch. “I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who was like me when books were in the equation” – she chuckled. “You know, my friend Blair…” – she started but frozen in her spot when Blair’s name slipped out off her tongue. Evangeline felt the monster within her waking up. She ignored him and coughed hoping that Olivia hadn’t noticed anything strange. “An Animagus?” – she asked raising her eyebrows. “That’s really hard but possibly I guess” – she shrugging. “What form do you think you’ll take?” |

She giggled, "I know you do Nic." Jolie said nodding and glancing back down at her notes for Charms. |

"Oh." she said at Evangeline's question, "I'm not quite sure yet, but my favorite animal is a cat, however I think I might like to fly, so maybe I will be an owl. I haven't deciced yet though, I am just starting to read up on it." she said. "What about you, have you ever thought of being an animagus?" |
Evangeline cocked her head as she gave a small giggle. “Don’t worry, I think that I am adopted loads of times” – she said brightly. Being here talking to Olivia was making her feel much better. She looked at her unfinished homework guilty listening to Olivia. She didn’t feel like doing homework anyway so she looked at her new found friend. “I dunno” – she answered slowly -“That’s a real good question”. She lingered there for a minute wondering about what form she would take if she was an Animagus. Definitely, nothing with wings, since she was terrified of heights. Evangeline remembered that Blair was afraid of heights as well and kicked herself mentally for thinking about her lost friend. “I really have no idea” – she shrugged finally. “But I’ll think about it” – she smiled. |
Olivia smiled, "Sure, think about it." she said with a nod. She noticed that Evangeline wasn't doing her homework and raised an eyebrow, "Im sorry, am I bothering you?" she asked, not wanting to be a burden whatsoever. |
“I will” – Evangeline nodded back. “And then, I’ll let you know” – she smiled at Olivia. Evangeline looked with a puzzled look on her face. “What? No, of course not” – she answered still confused. “Where did that come from?” – she thought looking down at her homework. Hang on a second. Her homework. Of course, that was what Olivia must be talking about. “You mean because of my homework? Don’t worry about it” - she shrugged with a grin. No one who had seen her that morning in the girl’s dormitory would think she was the person. “It’s almost done and I can finish it quickly. Besides, I still got time” |
Olivia nodded, "Well good, I was just checking because sometimes, I tend to ramble, and I would rather not do that today, I am too tired." she said with a smile. "For some reason I couldn't sleep last night, I was too distracted." she said flipping to the end of the book, "Well, this thing is quite long don't you think? If it begins to get boring I'm afraid I won't be able to finish it. |
“I guess it’s normal to be tired if you couldn’t sleep” – Evangeline shrugged smiling warmly at Olivia. “Usually when I can’t sleep I read a little, it always helps. Of course that lately I’ve been so tired that I start sleeping at the moment that my head hits the pillow.” – she chuckled slightly as she watched Olivia flip through the pages of the book. Evangeline nodded at Olivia’s comment. “Yeah, it is long. But if you’re interested in the subject it might not be boring” – she told her looking down at the book. |
Olivia nodded, "You're right." she said with a smile, as she closed the book again, "I suppose I'm just not in the mood to read at the moment." she added. "So, how is your essay coming along?" she asked pushing the heavy book out of the way. |
Evangeline chuckled slightly when Olivia said she was right. Her closest friends always used to say that Evangeline was always right. And in fact, she was. She didn’t want to brag about herself with Olivia because they didn’t know each other that well. “It’s coming pretty well, I think” – she nodded as she looked down at the parchment again. “I have to write about my evolution using the Switching Spells. I already practise it, now I only have to finish writing it.” – she said as she covered her mouth trying to hide a yawn. “Look Olivia, I’m too tired as well. I think I’ll go back to the Common Room” – she told Olivia stuffing her things back on her bag. “It was nice talking to you” – she added standing up. ”I’ll see you later, maybe” She grabbed her bag and made her way out of the Library. |

Antwone walked into the library with his satchel over his shoulder. He looked around for an empty table for himself in a quiet corner of the library and sat himself down. He pulled out his Herbology questions, a piece of clean parchment and a black feathered quill. He dabbed his quill into his ink bottle and started to rub his chin as he looked over the questions: Quote:
An hour passed and Antwone was complete with his Herbology homework, extra credit drawing and all. You are so much like me and not like me at all, I tell you. The sound of his grandfather's voice ranged through his ears. He stowed his completed homework away into his backpack and headed out toward the grand staircase. |
