Jolie stepped into the library, her book bag slung over her right shoulder - weighted down with several school textbooks. Her blonde hair was tied back into a ponytail with a lavender colored ribbon and she seemed to struggle slightly under the weight of the books. Finally reaching the library study tables Jolie slid her bag onto the table and slipped into a chair. She coughed and rummaged around for some parchment and ink. |
Erin wandered into the library, carrying nothing. She just wanted to pick out a book for some extra reading. Before reaching the bookshelves, though, Erin spotted Jolie, whom she hadn't spoken to for quite some time. "Jolie!" Erin squealed, scampering over. She had forgotten that her skin was still green, but that didn't mean other people wouldn't notice it. Erin had gotten in a bit of a disagreement that ended with some hexes about a week previously. She still hadn't bothered finding a way to turn her skin back to its original color, but that didn't bother Erin; she thought green skin made her more unique. Erin plopped herself into a chair beside Jolie, grinning. "What's up, bud?" she asked. |
Jolie's hand had just curled around a spare piece of parchment when she heard a familiar bouncy outgoing voice. Smiling she turned her head upwards but the sight that met her eyes made her speechless. There was just no other words. "Erin! Y-y-you're green!" Jolie finally spit out, stuttering slightly. |
Erin was slightly surprised at Jolie's shocked tone and expression. "Oh, yeah," Erin said, smiling. She looked down at her green hands. "Looks pretty cool, huh?" Erin giggled. She glanced at the bag in front of Jolie on the table. "Schoolwork?" Erin asked. |
Jolie bit her lip and nodded. But of course she shouldn't be suprised should she? After all it was Erin - and Erin was just a tad bit outgoing. Well maybe more than a tad. Jolie smiled, "Yeah - pretty much. It's all I've been doing lately." She replied, still a bit taken back by Erin's skin color. "What have you been up to?" Jolie asked. |
Erin smiled, too. At least Jolie hadn't asked how her skin got green. That was a long story that wasn't too exciting to tell over and over and over again. Erin nodded. "Hmm. That's too bad," she said. "But with OWL year... what can you expect?" She shrugged, a sympathetic smile on her face. "Oh, not much," Erin said, shrugging again. "You know me. Never too much going on in my life. What have you been doing, other than studying?" |
Jolie nodded in agreement. "I really want to do well.." She replied honestly, scribbling a few notes on the parchment she'd laid out onto the table. Jolie giggled slightly, "I hardly believe that Erin." She remarked, glancing back up at her friend. Jolie shrugged, "Nothing really." She said honestly again, burying her face in her writing again. |
"You'll do fine," Erin said, smiling as she patter her friend's arm. Erin giggled, too. "No really," she said. "I've hardly done anything interesting lately." She shook her head. "Hmm," Erin murmured. She sat in silence for a minute, watching Jolie work. "Have you seen Silos lately?" Erin asked cautiously. |
Jolie grinned, "I should hope so. I've been working really hard.." She said, biting her lip again. Jolie glanced carefully at her notes - making small corrections here and there when Erin touched upon a subject that Jolie had been hoping to avoid. Her expression hardened slightly and she simply shook her head, keeping her head bent down so her friend wouldn't have to see her facial expression. |
"Yeah, I remember last year," Erin said. "I spent SO much time in my common room." She sighed, shaking her head. Honestly, Erin still had as much work to do now as she had when she was a fifth year. Now, though, she was more laidback about it; Erin didn't worry so much about her schoolwork. "Oh... Uh, okay," Erin said, biting her lip. Obviously, something was wrong. Erin wanted to ask, but she didn't want to force Jolie into a conversation that she so obviously wanted to avoid. "Are you... okay?" Erin asked. |
Jolie nodded, "It's probably where I'll end up spending most of my time this year." She agreed, stifling a yawn. Jolie's head snapped up, "No.. I'm not okay.. I mean - he didn't even leave one little letter for me." She said, obviously distressed. "Half the time I worry sick about him and the other half of the time I keep telling myself why should I waste time worrying when he obviously didn't care enough to say exactly what he was doing or where he was going." Jolie said quietly, her grey and green eyes focused squarely on the hard oak wood the table. |
Erin nodded. Homework was such a pain. Jolie began to talk, and the pain Erin heard in her friend's voice made her feel slightly uncomfortable and very sorry. It was painful for Erin to hear Jolie talk about Silos' absence; Silos had been one of her very best friends. Erin scooted to the edge of her chair so she was closer to her friend. She slung a comforting arm around Jolie and patted her shoulder lightly. "Jolie," Erin started, swallowing. "He cared about you. I know he did." She squeezed Jolie's shoulder as she tried to manage a smile. "Silos was... is one of my best friends. He talked about you all the time." Erin didn't try to reassure Jolie that Silos was fine. That was something that Erin couldn't promise. She didn't know where he was, and she didn't know if he was okay. |
Eek! Sorry Erin - I gotta go after this post <3 *luffs* Jolie nodded and listened to Erin.. "But... he could have at least told me if he cared so much." She said, folding her arms over her chest and leaning back in her chair. It was hard for Jolie to show emotion - she kept her face straight and void of anything she was feeling at the moment. |
Nicolas stepped into the Library. Homework and homework was all he had been doing for the entire day. It was his fault he had left it pending for too long. But he had always thought homework was evil. He dumped his stuff next to two people. Girls they looked like and it didn't take him long to recognise one of them as his own step sister whom he hadn't spoken to for such a long time. "Jolie!" He said as he smiled at her and the other girl. "Oh. Hello!" He said as he grinned at the other girl. |

"Have you tried... writing to him?" Erin asked unsurely. Quote:
"Uh... who are you?" Erin asked, looking at the boy again. Surely he would question her skin. I mean, it was green. Erin tried to smile as if she looked perfectly normal. |

Nicolas grinned again and extended his hand. "I am Nicolas. Jolie's step brother." He told her and that is when he noticed she had green skin. A little unusual, really. He was about to ask how her skin became green, but he decided not to. Some times, his excitement could be misread and it might even sound rude. |
ooc: Yes. "I'm Erin," Erin said, beaming. "Nice to meet you, NicNic," she said. Erin giggled. She loved giving people nicknames. Especially people she just met. "I didn't know Jolie had a step brother," Erin said, shaking her head. She quickly glanced from Jolie to Nicolas. The boy said nothing about Erin's green skin. This was a bit strange. Erin decided that she'd be the one to mention her skin. "My skin's green," she said, beaming proudly. Erin held up one green arm, showing NicNic the color. |

"Well." He informed her as he sat down in front of both of them. "You know now. She also had a step-sister. Who is...four." He said as he wrinkled her nose, trying to remember Babette's right age. "Yes. She is definatly four." He added. Nicolas saw the colour before she told him of course. "I noticed." He said as he examined her green skin. "How did this wonderful event take place?" He asked her as he beamed back at her. |

"Hmm. That's nice," Erin said, nodding. She didn't know that Jolie had any siblings at all. But that was actually rather expected; Erin was definately the more talkative one in their friendship. "Oh, I got hexed by a boy named Hayden." Erin giggled. "Because I turned his hair pink." She snorted. |
Quote:
"What did he look like?" He asked her, rather excited. It took his mind off the Herbology homework he had to do. |
"Hayden," Erin began, "looks extremely arrogant." This wasn't totally true, but she disliked the boy a lot. "He's a Ravenclaw- seventh year, I believe. Dark hair... well, when it's not pink." Erin snorted. "He's tall... And, I dunno, he hides behind curtains a lot." Erin shrugged. She really didn't know how to explain Hayden. "Do you know him?" Erin asked. |
Quote:
Nicolas nodded. "I met him once. I meant what did he look like after you had finished turning his hair pink." He asked her. |
Jolie shook her head, "I wouldn't know where to send the letter to.." She said, sniffling slightly. Jolie did crack a smile though at who she saw join them, "Nic!" She said, enveloping him in a hug. "Where have you been? I've been worried sick!" Jolie scolded him, ruffling his hair. She smiled at Erin, "Sorry - we just didn't talk much about my family." Jolie said with a small shrug. |
Quote:
"I do a lot of talking about my family." He told her. It was true. Anyone who knew him will know he has a step sister in her fifth year and and another one who is in ... hang on. Which year was Brigitte in again? He forgot! And a small sister who is four. |

"So, you have a fetish for quidditch players eh?", he asked grinning. "Um... Er.... Any quidditch players you've been out with?" |
