Library Seating Areas

In parts of the library there are numerous seating areas where large, puffy arm chairs are arranged in small groups. The soft firelight from a nearby fireplace warms the students who are reading quietly with a book in their laps, some close their eyes hoping to get a few minutes of rest before their next class, and other's simply chat in soft, hushed tones.

Jacqui walked into the library as she couldn't seem to find any other quiet places. She sat on a fluffy armchair and moved around a bit, getting comfortable. Then she reached into her schoolbag and pulled out a novel, then plopped the bag onto the floor and started to read the book.

Jolie walked into the library, her book bag slung around her shoulder. She brushed her blonde hair away from her eyes and sat down quietly in one of the many soft chairs. Jolie tucked her feet under her and flipped through the pages of her book until she found her spot.

After reading for an hour or two she tucked her book back in her bag, slung it over her shoulder and walked out towards the Common Room.

After finding his book, Ameer walked over to the seating area and seeing someone else sitting there, he smiled. 'At least I wont be alone' he thought. He walked over to the seating area and sat down on a sofa, opening his book and burying himself in it.

Rodinth walked around browsing the shelves looking for a good book. He saw a book on Dragon's and pulled it down. He stumbled under the weight of the book and flopped onto one of the chairs near a boy rougthly around his age. he opened the book and examined the contents

After Ameer read a few chapters of his books, he pulled out his wand and pointing to his wrist, he whispered 'timera' and instantly the current time was displayed on his wrist. He gave a start of shock. He had been in the library over 3 hours. He gathered his belongings and walked over to the librarians desk.

After quite a while Jacqui leant back on her chair to think about what she had just read. She then glanced around her and saw a girl and two guys sitting on the nearby chairs and smiled at the fact she had been so entranced by her book she hadn't noticed three people had sat next to her. As one of the guys got up and left, Jacqui pondered on what to do - she'd love to make new friends, but this was the library and they probably didn't want to be disturbed.

She decided to make her presence clear, so if they wanted to talk then they'd do it. She looked down at her book and read a couple of sentences, then suddenly laughed loudly.

Sho walked over to the seating area and found an open chair. He sat down softly and opened the small book he had brought with him. It was a muggle book...er...graphic novel to be precise. He was going to miss getting the new ones at the store, but he could always have them sent to him.

He looked around at the other students reading quietly.

Savannah with her feet tucked under herself, in one of the many small group seatting area, sat comfortably in the armchair. her messanger bag layed beside the chair, and a book on her lap. Parchment, ink and her quill ontop of the open book.

Of course, Tiger; the two week old palm sized kitten sat right inback of the textbook, cuddling closely to his owner as he slept. The kitten was just like a baby duckling. Always following its mum around, that was exactily how Tiger was. He went everywhere with Anna, except classes.

The young hufflepuff girl brushed a strand of brown hair behind her ear and continued her writing, moving the parchment over somewhat to see the book then moved it back, and wrote something down again.

After a long, long while, Finally Savannah looked up from her studying, realizing she had lost track of time. She quickly closed her book and put her homework back into her bag, Picking Tiger up and swong her messanger bag over her shoulder before rushing out of the library.

Ella staggered away from the book shelves holding a thick book. Hogwarts a History was dropped onto the table with a loud THUMP. Not bothering to sit, she turned to the index, and scanned it.

She found the page number, and turned to the appropraite page. There was a time line. She read through it, looking for familiar names when she spotted something of interest.

Jacqui could not stand it when no one replied to her laugh, and stared at the girl next to her. She knew she had seen the girl somewhere before. After a few minutes, Jacqui jumped as she realised who the girl was. Thats right... I was at the coutyard with Nicolas and that girl gave him a wave, but what was her name again? ... ... Jolie! Jacqui thought, then leaned over to Jolie. "Er... Sorry to interrupt you, but is your name Jolie by any chance?" She whispered.

After grabbing the first book she spotted, Kiara sat down on the furthest chair from all those that were in the Library. She slowly opened the book and started to read the first words of the page. However, she never managed to read the whole sentence for there were soon so many tears in her eyes that it was impossible for her to actually be able to know the difference between an 'e' and a 'c'.

Not wishing to be seen in that state, she let her curls fall by her face so that pratically no skin could be seen behind the brown hair curtain. She closed her eyes firmly as a tear decided to get out and roll down her cheek. Before it fell on the book, she raised a hand an quickly cleaned the tears from her eyes, though soon enough they were once again filled with even more water.

Eric slowly walked into the library, glancing about every now and again, not all that interested in the books. No, he was looking for a quiet place to think. It seemed as though his fifth year at Hogwarts were taking up much more time than he had originally considered and now he felt as though he were wearing himself out. He needed to either think alone or to speak with someone, but the someone he wished to speak to hadn't been seen for quite some time.

With a slight frown, he wandered to the seating areas, going towards the furthest corner. When he arrived, he noticed vaguely another person sitting there. When he looked again, however, his heart leaped with joy as he recognized that familiar curtain of hair.

Quickly moving in that direction, he came to a stop just as the girl raised her hand to her eyes. "Kiara?" He spoke quietly, kneeling down in front of the girl. Was she crying? That was certainly what it looked like. What had happened? Something with her family?

Padie 07-29-2007 12:09 AM

Kiara let out a sigh as she cleaned her eyes again for what seemed like the twentieth time that day. No matter how many times she told herself she was being stupily silly, she just couldn't stop herself from crying and feeling like a fool over and over again. She should have listened to her oldest cousin when she was her age. By then, the girl said the right thing: ''don't mess with guys, you'll end up hurt''. Though Kia had never fully believed in that, not even after what happened to Elli, she couldn't stop herself from wishing she had payed more attention to her cousin when she was a teen.

But then again, she just couldn't imagine herself without Eric. Eric... At this, her eyes filled with tears again, and this time she couldn't stop a tear from actually falling on the book.

Suddenly, out of nothing, Kiara heard a soft voice by her side, making her jump on her seat. She raised her eyes to meet Eric's face. 'Eric?' She answered, quite surprised. Everything seemed to have disappeared from her mind as she let the book slip from her lap while she threw her arms around his neck and burried her head on his shoulder, tears rolling down her cheeks once again. 'I missed you so much, Eric, so much' She whispered.

Granger1814 07-29-2007 12:21 AM

Eric's eyes widened in surprise when Kiara looked up at the sound of his voice, now seeing for himself the tear tracks across her face. He had hardly any time to react to this sighting when he was suddenly embraced in a tight hug. Finding himself in a rather awkward position, he immediately raised one hand and patted Kiara's back, listening as she began to speak.

"Oh, Kiara." He murmured, drawing back a bit, but still holding onto her. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to go so much time without contacting you. The work started immediately and it sort of overwhelmed me. I know it doesn't give me that great of an excuse." He admitted. "But I really didn't mean to leave you hanging like that."

Padie 07-29-2007 12:33 AM

Though she was still crying, Kiara's face finally lighten up a bit as she managed to place a small smile on her lips. She just couldn't stop herself from doing so since she was nothing but joyful to finally see him standing in front of her. When Eric finished speaking, she nodded softly at him, as she roughly cleaned the tears from her face.

'I know, I know' She said in a shallow voice. 'I just thought... But I was being silly, I know I was' She added, more to herself than to him, her eyes falling on her hands, now on his shoulders, for a few moments. 'I-I'm sorry I wet your shirt' She apologized, now meeting his eyes again.

Granger1814 07-29-2007 12:42 AM

Eric watched Kiara carefully, feeling a rush of relief as she managed to give him a soft smile. That was certainly a good sign. Sighing quietly, he reached into his pocket, producing a small handkerchief which he handed to her to clean up her tears. He had never seen her cry before and he certainly didn't want to see it again, preferring to keep her happy.

Frowning slightly as Kiara spoke, he thought of asking what she had thought, but decided against it for it would only upset her again. "It's fine." He reassured her, standing up a bit to settle into a nearby chair, pulling it close to hers, his own smile coming to his face. "You okay now?"

Padie 07-29-2007 01:01 AM

Kiara let go of Eric unwillingly and sat back on her chair after picking up the book she had let fall on the floor. It was only then that she actually read the title of the book, an old muggle romance book she had seen her cousins read before, but which she had never decided to read herself. She placed it on her lap though she wasn't even considering on opening it again at all.

When she finally looked at Eric again, still with a tiny small on her lips, she noticed he had a handkerchief on his hand. 'Thanks' She let her small widen a bit more, as she grabbed it gently, her own hand brushing on his accidentally. 'Hmmhmm' She nodded, still smiling. 'Just being silly, really' She shrugged. 'By the way, Lua's been worried sick about you' She told him as she remembered the last encounter she had had with her friend
.

Granger1814 07-29-2007 01:09 AM

Eric smiled once more as Kiara thanked him for the piece of cloth, reaching for it immediately after the words had been spoken, her hand brushing against his. A familiar jolt hit him at that moment, a warmth spreading down his arm attached to the hand that she had touched. "Ah....I see." He said with a small nod.

"But what you thought isn't really what you thought?" He asked inquisitively, wanting to be certain that everything really was okay.

At the sudden mention of Lua, Eric sat back in his chair heavily. "Oi. She's going to hex me into oblivion." He muttered. "I haven't seen her either. I've definitely got quite a few people to see again."

Padie 07-29-2007 01:19 AM

Kiara's eyes widened slightly as she heard him. Due to her emotional status, it took her a bit more time than usual to understand what he meant but, thankfully, her Ravenclawness was quick enough to answer him before he had taken enough time to notice her stupidity. 'Yeah, I suppose so' She nodded, still smiling, her eyes now free of tears even if there was still a distinct trace of them on her face. 'It's just the whole pressure building up I guess' She shrugged again. 'But don't worry about me' She gave him a warm smile.

When the subject of their conversation turned to Lua again, Kia titled her head to the side slowly. 'Yeah. Especially her. I think she's been trying to enter every single room of the school, trying to spot you' She nodded.

Granger1814 07-29-2007 01:25 AM

Eric glanced down at the book that Kiara held in her lap, and therefore was unable to notice the expression upon his girlfriend's face. It looked to be some sort of romance novel, which wasn't any particular interest to him.

Raising his gaze to meet Kiara's once more, he smiled back, quite pleased to see her face light up again as he was so used to seeing. "Alright then." He said quietly, promising silently that he would drop the subject.

Laughing suddenly at the thought of Lua hunting him down, Eric folded his arms across his chest. "You shouldn't have told me that." He teased. "Now you'll have to be the one to protect me when she finally does see me."

Padie 07-29-2007 01:33 AM

As Eric's eyes looked at the book she was holding, Kiara looked down too and blinked. 'Just so you know, I've got no idea how this ended up here' She told him matter-of-factly, touching the cover with the tip of one of her fingers.

At the sound of his laughter, all the sadness that seemed to be the only emotion she knew disappeared at once. How could she have been stupid enough to doubt that he did care for her? 'Hmm... Oh, I don't know about that' She told him thoughtfully,, her eyes now on the ceiling. 'I mean, I quite understand her so you'll just have to convince me to protect you' At this, she looked back down at him, an innocent look on her face which showed that her thoughts were not as innocent as she wanted them to seem.
