Professor Blaylock-Erikson sat on her favourite pouffe in the centre of the circular classroom. She was surrounded by books of all shapes and sizes, but her ever present teacup was nowhere to be seen. There was no way she was risking anything anymore. Not with these group of students.
The trapdoor was open and all that was needed were the students.

Ryan entered the room, frowning. Okay, so her first year had been a year of discovery. She had discovered that she loathed Potions, Ancient Runes, Arithmancy and Divination. Peering into a teacup until a sheep appeared or something like that was all well and good for people who actually got a kick out of that kind of stuff; but Ryan wanted action and practical lessons.
She saw Ray sitting at a table, and hurried over to sit next to him.
'Hiya, Ray!' she said brightly, although sending a sceptical glance around the stupid classroom as she did so, a frown appearing on her face as her hair faded to a dull, dirty-blonde. Not quite her natural colour, but she really didn't feel like changing her appearance at the moment.

Amelia climbed through the trap door and took her usual seat in the middle of the circular room. Divinations wasn't her favorite subject, but at the same time, it wasn't her worst either. Besides, the classes did prove to be rather entertaining this term.
After taking out her notes and her favorite pink quill, she looked up at the professor and smiled, "Hello Professor Blaylock! how are you today?"

'Sorry, Professor,' murmured Ryan, turning away from Ray. She certainly had no desire to lose Hufflepuff yet more house points, plus she probably already had a bed reputation for chatting from the Transfiguration teacher. She instead chose to glare around the room, as though each object had done her much harm.

Turning towards the source of the question, Professor Blaylock attempted a half smile. Her headache was returning and she already knew that her throat hurt like the very devil.
"I'm just peachy, dearling."
She glanced at her watch and frowned. The lesson would begin in five minutes...regardless of whether the entire class was present or not.

The class seemed quite unresponsive today, but that was probably her fault. She could feel the headache getting worse so she sat on her desk to minimize her movements. It seemed that every time she moved, her head pounded.
"We are not only going to revise everything we've learned this term, but also Divination as a whole. Who can tell me what Divination is?"

While Listening professor, Sana noticed that she seemed restless and probably had some problem. "Professor, are you alright??" she asked with a real concern as she was sitting near to her.
But she raised her hand answered her question simultaneously, "Divination is the practice of determining the hidden significance or cause of events, sometimes foretelling the future, by various natural, psychological, and other techniques".

Ryan put up her hand.
'Divination is magic that attempts to foresee future events,' Ryan answered. 'There are three main types. One is natal, or genethilical Divination; mainly set on birth charts and the angles of planets. Another is Mundane, or political astrology, and is usually used by the Centaurs. And the third is true Seeing, which the Seer, or one with the "Inner Eye", makes a prophecy that contains the information'.
She didn't care if she was wrong, it sounded elaborate, which was good for her.

Professor Blaylock nodded, "Well, that's the gist of it. Divination is the attempt of ascertaining information by interpretation of omens or ... supernatural agencies."
She smiled at the young Hufflepuff, "I suppose Seeing, or the Inner Eye would fall under supernatural agencies."

If a distinction is to be made between divination and fortune-telling, divination has a formal or ritual and often social character, usually in a religious context; while fortune-telling is a more everyday practice for personal purposes". Ray replied quickly.

Wincing, Professor Blaylock wagged a finger at the student, "Don't go ahead of the class now. That was to be my next question...Now I shall have to improvise."
However, improvising was quite difficult to do when one had a blistering headache.

"I think that yes divination is a bit personal, I think that sometimes some signs in divination like someone might see a sheep in a tea cup and an other might see it as an eagle prove a bit of personality in the reading of the signs".Ray said.
