Transfiguration - Lesson Two As always, Professor Pride was sitting Indian style on her desk as you entered the room. She nods politely and glances back out the door, looking for more students. |
Alicia walked into the Transfiguration class room. "Hello Professor Pride," she said with a smile before taking a seat in the front row. |
Kerry enters the classroom and smiles at the professor who looks extremely comfortable sitting upon the desk. "This should be a nice, laid back class," she thought and hoped as she found a seat toward the front and waited for class to begin. |
Ariana walked in, little flakes of dried mud still in her hair. She had a shower before class but it seemed she had missed some. Running her hands through her hair, she got most of the small amount and smiled happily to the professor, who was looking quite comfortable. Putting her bag down at her desk, she sat down with her wand on the tabletop and waited. |
Shauna strolled into the class, mud still flaking off her robes as she walked. Her shoes were still dreadfully covered in mud, so she chose to leave them in her dormitory. With fear of being late, she never managed to put on another pair therefore leaving her feet barren. She smirked to herself, hoping the professor wouldn't notice. She took a seat near the back, giving a small wave to Ariana as she took her place. |
Alexis walked into the transfiguration class, and sat down somehere in the middle. She took out her stuff and waited for class to begin. |

Cassandra slowly entered the Transfiguration classroom. "Hello Professor." She said before she took a seat in the middle. She saw a few other students already here. She put her bag down on the floor and took out her parachment, ink, a quill, and her wand, just in case. She looked around the classroom, waiting for the class to start. |
Kennedy entered the classroom with Aurora before the start of the lesson and took a seat at the front of the room. She greeted Professor Pride and began quietly removing the necessary supplies from her tote bag. She waited patiently for the lesson to begin. |
Aurora was right behind Kennedy, then she noticed her shoe was united. "Save me a seat. I'll be there in a sec.". Aurora set down her bag and bent over to tie her shoes. |
Bucky entered her next lesson, Transfigurations. The mere name gave her nightmares but her mind was settled on something else. She glanced over her shoulder too see if Tag had decided not to skip this class after all. Her ears scalded and her cheeks flushed thinking about what had happened in Arithmancy. Oh, how terribly embarrassing. Would it ever end. Heaving a sigh, she took a seat and prepared to be even more humiliated but this time by her own lack of skills in the Transfiguring department. |
Torie bounced into the Transfiguration classroom. She was happy to be here since she always learned really neat things in this class. After scanning the classroom, she decided to take a seat near the front of the room. "Hello Professor." she said. "What are we learning today?" |

Aurora got herslef back together, and sat with Kennedy. "Thanks, KK," she said. She looker up at the Professor, "Good day, Professor. Hope you are well. Did you get a chance to grade the homework from last time?" Aurora liked to keep track of her grades so she could let her Mum know. |

Bucky waved at the girl and chuckled. This was the one who had supplied fuel to the fire...sort of. And totally by accident she was sure. Did Professor Onyx ever manage to save what was left of that Arithmancy textbook or what? |
Dinara walked into the classroom. She looked for anyone she knew and spotted little Kerry. She walked over to her and sat down next to her. As she was unpacking her bag, she looked up at Professor Pride and waved a hello. |
Leo looked around the class and saw Bucky. Awesome! someone he knew. He went over to her and smiled, "This seat taken?" he asked pointing to the seat next to her. |
Rachel walked in and sat down. She took out her supplies and smiled at the professor. "How are you? What are we going to be learning today?" |

Bucky laughed and pulled out of her pocket a tiny burnt piece of paper. It was all she had left of the doodle and if you looked closely, you could still see Mr. Cinco's curly beard. She waved it at the girl and considering doodling some more during class unless she managed to pay attention long enough. |
Talons shuffled into the classroom and found a seat near the window in the back. She plopped down in the desk and pulled out her wand, a few sheets of parchment, and a quill. She glanced around the classroom for a familiar face, and seeing none, she began to doodle on her parchment. |

Talons looked up from her drawing and realized the speaker was looking at her. "Uh, sure." Talons replied. She scooped up her belongings, crept silently up to the desk next to her and sat down again. "Thanks," she said. "I'm Talons, by the way." |

Leo beamed, At least this time she was nice to him. He nodded and muttered a thank you, he then took a seat next to Bucky. Leo took out his books and looked straight at the Professor, he was more quiet than he usually was. |

Sebastian meandered into the classroom a few minutes early and sat down in his normal seat on the far right side of the classroom. He reached towards his bag and opened it up, expecting to find his books. Instead, a frog jumped out, making a loud croak, before heading towards the front of the class. Sebastian cursed under his breath. He had no idea how the frog had gotten there, but now it was sure to cause a distraction, as it was jumping from desk to desk. |
Talons laughed. "Ok, well my real name isn't Talons, it's Emma Taryn Richardson, but nobody calls me that. It's nice to meet you too. And you don't look old to me.. I'm a sixth year." She smiled in spite of being thought younger than she was. "I'm in Hufflepuff, how about you?" |
Cassandra walked in and greeted the professor. She sat alone. She pulled out her wand and twirled it within her fingers waiting for instructions. |
AShley waited for class to begin. She sat there and looked around. |
Torie jumped in surprise as a random frog came bounding her way. Not being a squeemish sort, she jumped up and attempted to catch it as it neared her. She grabbed at it unsuccessfully, missing it by a hair. Giggling madly, she attempted to track it down again, finally succeeding. Holding it in her hand, she looked around the classroom. Raising it up she asked, "Did anybody lose a frog?" Just then, the frog hopped out of her hand and continued toward the front of the classroom. |
Sebastian was now at Torie's desk. "Well, it hopped out of my bag," he said, pulling his wand out of his robes. "But I didn't lose it. I've never seen it before in my six years at this school." The frog was almost to the teacher's desk. He cringed. |
Torie smiled at the strange boy now standing beside her. "Well, he's pretty cute. Do you mind if I keep him?" She looked over at him, giving him a quick once over. She noticed his Ravenclaw patch and grinned. "Ravenclaw, eh? You miust be pretty smart." Extending her free hand, she offered it to him to shake. "I'm Torie, by the way. You are?" |
Melony walked in and waited for class to begin. |
Sebastian took a minute and said, "Accio Toad." Luckily, he was good at summoning charms and the toad zoomed to him. "I try to be smart," he said, handing the frog to the girl and reaching back for his bags, setting them in a desk next to Torie's. I'm Sebastian Dominicus, sixth year, Ravenclaw. But you already knew the Ravenclaw part." |
She gratefully accepted the frog from her new friend before smiling broadly. "That I did." she said as she made her way back to her seat. "It's nice to meet you and thanks for the frog. As I said, I'm Torie. This is my second year here at Hogwarts. So, do you like Transfiguration? Obviously you're pretty good at charms, judging from the control you had on your Accio spell." |
Danni hoped off her desk and shut the door, "Alright everyone quiet down, anymore talking will earn you 5 points off your house. Today we will be discussing, Animagi." OOC: Sorry everyone but I have to get off the computer for the night, check back later and I will have posted more. |
Amelia was sitting next to Dinara, and just as the professor announced the lesson for the day she looked over and gave Dinara a knowingly wink. For she had read up on animagi just this past summer, and she investigated the possibilities of her learning how to become one. She opened up her notebook, and wrote the date and title at the top of the page. She then folded her hands neatly in front of her, waiting for the Professor to begin the lesson. |
Rebecca looked at the professor and took out some parchment and a quill, she wanted to take notes on this lesson |
Ali took out her parchment and her quill and wrote the topic at the top of the parchment. "Animagi." Then she looked up and waited for the professor to start discussing the topic. |
Kennedy got excited when Professor Pride said they would be learning about Animagi today. It was ironic actually, because during her last ancient runes class Kennedy cast the runes in relation to the issue of whether she would ever gain enough magical experience and Tranfiguration knowledge to become an animagus. And now, here they were about to learn about animagi. Her rune cast said that if she waited patiently, the means of going about becoming an animagus would appear before her. And here they were! kennedy smiled and wrote on the top of her parchment, "Transfiguration Lesson #2: Animagi." She looked up and anxiously waited for what Professor Pride was going to say next. |
Cora's mouth dropped open when Professor Pride said that they would be learning about animagi. She was already a metamorphagus, but hoped to one day become an animagi. She pulled out a piece of parchment and her new quill and began to fill the page with her swirly writing. C-B. Latiffa |
Yes! Finally. Hayley thought to herself. She wondered what it would be like to be an Animagus. Obviously fun She thought again. She go a quill and some parchement out, she was actually going to listen in this class, it sounded interesting. |
Ariana grinned like a fool when she heard the lesson plan. Pulling out her book she wrote down the word "Animagi" and set off reading about it until the professor began the lesson. She had to get this class right; last one didn't go as well as she'd hoped, but she was a determined Ravenclaw. |
Ashley wrote down Animagi and started to read about it. She was going to win some points for her team no matter what it took. So she sat there and studied |
Myra just sat there with her quill in her hand.she had written "Animagi" and she was rotating her quill lazily in her hand while reading about animagi. |
Cora leant back in her chair and rifled through her book. "Ah!" She began to read, her blue eyes darting over the paper as though they were trying to get out of her head. Every now and then, she would jot down a phrases, quote, or sometimes draw a diagram. Whatever the circumstances, she was learning. |
Kassie pulled out her quill and parchment. Her face lit up when the teacher said animagi. She wanted to be an animagi terribly. This was a good way to learn all she could about it. Chewing on the end of her quill she waited until the teacher said more. |
Rachel immediately broke off her conversation with Talons, making a mental note to talk to her after class. She had her quill in her left hand and it was hovering above the parchment. |
Seeing Rachel turn to the front after the professor spoke, Talons returned to her own parchment. She wrote 'Lesson Two- Animagi' across the top in flowery letters. As she waited for the professor to speak again, she embellished on her writing and resumed doodling absentmindedly. |
Suzy wrote down at the top of her paper "Animagi." She had always hoped she could have an animagus. She loved white tigers and would love to experience being one. |
Danni smiled as the students faces brighted, "I have been approached on this subject more than any other in my two terms teaching here, so, I figured I'll answer some of your questions. Instead of you answering my questions, you may ask me the questions." Sitting back on her desk she added, "Well go ahead." |
"so how do you become an Animagi?" Molly asked not knowing much about it. |
Kerry raised her hand, "I have a question. Forgive me but I'm just not sure...I mean know what an animagus is, but how does one become an animagus? I've heard it's very difficult." |
Alexis raised her hand. "Can you choose which animagi you become?" She asked in a quite voice. |
Suzy raised her hand, "professor do you have an animagus?" |
Seeing as her classmate had just asked the same question as her virtually at the same time, Kerry decided to ask one other question that was on her mind, "Professor I know once you do have an animagus... you have to register it. How do you do this? Is it a test? Or do you just go and speak to someone, sign something and it's you're all registered?" |

Suzy wrote all of the teachers answers down. Suzy wondered if her animagus could be a tiger, because, she sorta has the temperment of a tiger. Oh how she wished. |
Kerry thought about trying to imagine each bit of the animal as your transforming and the horrors that happen when the transformation goes wrong and shudders, as she thinks about what personality, and mannerisms she has that most closely related what animal - wondering what she'd be if she transformed into an animal. "Professor, what kinds of things have you seen gone wrong when trying to become an animagus? And were any of them permanent?" |
"Professor, are you going to show us how to study to become one?" Molly asked not sure if she wanted to try to become an animagi. |

Jasmine smiled happily at the topic of today's lesson. Animagi. She always wondered what her animagus form would be and wondered if her gift of beaing able to communicate with animals would be a help or a hinderence. Professor Maline was helping her deal with everything but they hadn't yet had a chance to further investigate the limits of what she might be able to do. Hearing the professor tell them to ask any questions, Jasmine decided to do just that. "Excuse me professor. I have an ability that allows me to communicate with animals, do you think that will be an advantage for me to become an animagus or a disadvantage?" |
Myra raised up her hand. Proffessor, when did you become an animagus?" |
Hayley wrote down praticaly everyhing that the professor was saying, The thought of becoming an Animagus was brilliant, but obviously, she was much to young. And plus, the teacher had an animagus to show them later! This is offically, the best lesson ever! She thought to herself and grinning broadly. |
Ariana riased her hand nervously, "Professor, I have think I have an ability to sense what others are feeling, I just found out about it actually. My question is, does your emotions have anything to do with wht kind of Animagus you are? I mean, let's say you just lost someone very close to you and are extremly emotional, and you're abotu to leearn your animagus. If it's let's say a dog, willi it look scruffy loking and weak becuse you're sad, or will it look vibrant and full of life?" she thought it was a good question, she had been curious about it ever since that day at the lake with Silos. She was stilll scared that she could sense his emotions, though ever since then she couldn't sense any others. She needed to find some answers. |

And also, where do those people who are animagi, actually learn how to develop their ability?" |
Shauna raised her hand, "Call me selfish, but if, theoretically, i'm going to spend all this time and study all this knowledge to maybe one day become an animagi, what are the benefits? And advantages? Basically, what will it do for me besides give me some fur.. or...scales...". Gross. Shauna didn't see the big deal of being able to turn into a cat. Just buy a cat if you like them that much that you feel you need to turn into one. |

Amelia listened to the questions asked, and one popped into her mind from Molly and Kerry's questions and the responses they got about being too young. Also, about how she learned from one-on-one with her teacher. "Excuse me Professor, but I was curious if there was anyway where if we showed acceleration in the subject of transfiguration, if you could perhaps work with us one-on-one to learn to become an animagi?" |

Molly sat, eyes wide with amazement, as the professor flew around the room. She was an absolutely beautiful bird. It just seem to fit her. Molly took out her parchment and tried to sketch a picture of the bird/professor as accurately as she could. Then she took down some notes below the picture on why the professor becomes that type of bird. |
Amelia watched in amazement as her Professor transformed into this small heron. Wow! I wish I could fly..., she thought until she felt something light land on her shoulder. The professor was on her shoulder!! -- how strange. She laughed and smiled at the bird, before it took off and landed back in the front of the classroom to answer her question. Amelia nodded in agreement, and made a mental note that she would strive for great success for the next 4 years in Transfiguration. "Thank you Professor; I will do my best not to let you down." She winked. |
Rachel had already spoken to the professor on this topic. She knew that the professor wouldn't teach her until she was older, but learning the everything about it beforehand would be helpful anyway. Her old AP classes had made her a quick writer and she wrote everything that was said by the professor and students on the topic. She looked up as the professor turned into her animangus form, and smiled. She was a pretty bird and Rachel hoped that if she was a bird, she'd look as good. Then a thought came into her head, 'Nah, you're probably something like a horse or something that's fast and deadly.' Rachel raised her right hand, while her left hand kept writing. "Professor, so how exactly does being an animangus work? Do you know ahead of time what you'll be, or do you just turn into that animal, then go to a mirror and say, "Oh, I'm a bird. Lovely." or something? I never understood how that worked. |

Rachel's hand shot up into the air. "With a transfiguration, you do it by a wand and it's advanced, but not as advanced as being an animagus is. But with an animagus, you don't need a wand, you can just do it at will and you have a set animal, whereas with transfiguration, you can take on any form. An animagus is advanced, to the where only few that tempt it actually successed. Also, transfiguration, isn't as personalized as an animagus is. Animagus form is based off of who you are, but transfiguration isn't." |
Molly raised her hand to take a guess "Professor, isn't transfiguration a spell and an animagus is a skill you develop to change youself into the same animal over and over? Like you couldn't have a bunch of different animagi, but you could use transfiguration for a bunch of different things." |
"Isn't a transfigured human incapable of remembering their own identity and having similar thinking, whereas an animagus retains all sense of self and thought processes?" Kennedy couldn't spit this out the way she wanted. |

Rachel smiled. She had finally done something right. She thanked the professor for the great lesson and walked out intent on giving a great homework assignment to the professor. It was almost as though the professor had made a lesson just for her. Oh yeah, this was her favorite class. She waited outside the classroom for Talons to finish packing. This was a good class and she wanted to discuss it with her. OCC: She's at the lake. Just sit down and start talking to her if you want, if you have any other location in mind PM me. |
"Well bye proffessor! This class was awsome!!" said Myra and she left the class. |
beck scurried up to the teacher and grabbed her homework. no time to dilly dally, she was already late for her next class. "oh curse it all" she muttered as some of her papers slid to the floor. |
Suzy wrote down the homework and packed her things. She hoped one day she could learn to become an animagus. |
