What was once the old Defense Against the Dark Arts office lays in the middle of the corridor, right next to the classroom. A harried little house elf paced just inside the door, and she turns to put one long finger to her lips at the sight of you.

"Shhh... we is being quiet. The babies is sleeping, please." Her protruding eyes dart to the twin cribs pushed against alternate walls. The room no longer resembles an office at all, considering the stone walls are covered in a lush, bright fabric designed with prancing blue and purple unicorns. Soft music floats through the air, and the house elf makes her way through some discarded toys to settle into the heavy rocking chair.

"You can't be coming in here without permission, but you is able to stand and watch from the door, please. The babies is finally asleep."

Armand could feel his heart pounding. "It could always be metaphorical, of course. Right Tash? I've no clue what it might be a metaphor for... but..." He swallowed hard. "I'm sure Genevieve will be fine."

"How could one of them have so much goodness and one have so much... of that?" She stroked Genevieve's blonde curls as if the little girl were the one disturbed by the news. "It doesn't mean it's negative, does it? I mean... well, betrayal is always bad, but sometimes separation is simply... necessary."

Armand registered something and bit his lip, not daring to say it. Instead he just nodded. "Well, maybe she's getting into the separation anxiety stage or something. Being separated from her mother would be perceived as a drastic change, and even a betrayal by her, right? Like, to be handed over to a caretaker or something."

Natasha nodded, still avoiding meeting Cassandra's eyes, "Yes, of course...the cards are open to interpretation, and I d-don't advise dwelling on them for fear that they will d-direct your actions..."

Rae settled Genevieve on one hip and reached for Natasha's hand. "My dear... thank you for using your gift for us. Tell Armand he can keep Sophia as payment," she winked at the woman, but it was half-hearted.

Natasha smiled softly at Cassandra's words and without thinking, she leaned forward and gave the headmistress a quick hug. She let go, blushing profusely, "I'm sorry, Cassandra, I don't know what came over me. I just want you to know that...if you ever need a shoulder, or a helping hand, I'm here for you."

"Thank you," Rae said softly, setting Genevieve on the floor to crawl off in search of her twin. "I know you offer it out of the generosity of your own heart, although the fact that you find that necessary is distressing." She smiled, ever the brave Auror. "Why don't you read me as well and tell me to take a vacation?"

"I think that's a good idea, your cards will make more sense seeing as you're well...older." Great, had she just insulted Cassandra by calling her old? "Older than the babies, that is...well, obviously you're older than the babies. They are babies, after all, and you are their mother." She bit her lip, blushing as she scolded herself.

"Okay, I'll just shut up and let you shuffle the cards...pick three cards after you're done shuffling."

Armand bit his tongue against laughing and patted Natasha's shoulder. He winced as Sophia got ahold of a lock of hair he thought was still behind his ear and moved it from her grasp. "Hey, now, I need that hair. I know you don't believe me, but it's true."

"She pulls my hair as well, but I've learned to wear it up," Rae gestured to where her honey blonde hair was pulled back from her face. In an attempt to act blasé about the whole thing, she pulled three random cards from the deck in succession.

OCC: Totally random... I didn't peek a bit.
4 of Cups, Judgement, 8 of Pentacles in that order. I did look afterward, though, and liked that the first and last are opposing cards.

Natasha exhaled slowly when she saw the cards, smiling encouragingly up at Cassandra, "Hmmm, right. Four of Cups means you're either erm *cough* self absorbed, OR or that you need to take a moment and look into yourself. Take some time off, rather. And it also means that you're stuck emotionally...you need to focus on something new in order to get yourself out of that situation."

She wasn't really comfortable with telling the Headmistress what to do, so went on quickly, "Judgement represents the need to make choices, to enjoying new beginnings and hope. I suppose when connected to your first card, this means you have to decide on what to focus on to get out of that emotional rut."

"And finally, the eight of Pentacles represents hard work and focus. When this card shows up, it means you need to devote yourself to a particular project, or also that there is a need to learn something new."

She stared at all three cards, "I suppose the sum of it all is that you need to take some time off, pick a project to concentrate on and then work hard at it." That project could be anything...and Natasha had a strange feeling that it had something to do with the twins.

Armand smiled. "Sounds informative." He looked at Natasha, playfully disappointed. "Why couldn't I get readings like that. Mine were all love and commitment... and stuff."

Natasha turned to Armand and frowned, "Well, you picked the cards...and if you don't want love and commitment and stuff, well, don't feel like you're forced to." She turned back to Cassandra, and smiled shakily at the other woman, "Well...I suppose, that should do it for the day. I should probably get going..."

He looked sheepish. "Merlin, Tash, I didn't mean it like that..." He watched as she began to pack up to leave and looked down to Sophia, strangely reluctant to put her down. Not long ago he was scared to death to hold her. He sighed.

Natasha shook her head and stopped packing for a while, "You're right, I'm sorry, I don't know what's gotten into me lately! I've just been feeling a bit testy," She shrugged apologetically to both Rae and Armand, and took little Sophia's hand in hers, "Forget about my moodiness, now, do we get to play with the twins again?" She asked Cassandra playfully.

He sighed in relief, glad he wasn't in trouble. "Well, I know I've been under some stress lately. I'd imagine you are too. Maybe we should take a trip to Hogsmeade once we've some free time... whenever that is."

Rae let them have their peace for a moment, stacking up bottles the house elves hadn't gotten to yet and searching for a clean bib for Genevieve. Finally, with no more busy work to do, she turned back to Natasha and Armand. "You can stay and play, or come back and visit anytime you want. They've napped recently, but they may be hungry."

Natasha couldn't help the giggle that escaped her at Armand's obvious discomfort. She took the baby from his arms and cooed down at her, "I think your mummy scared the Manly Man!" she said, tickling the girl's tummy before she handed the child back to Rae. "Thank you for the offer, Cassandra, but I think it's time I headed back to the tower..."

Michiko laughed into her palm at what professor natasha had said. "Professor Rae?" she said softly, "would you like me to help out with the feeding at all?" She smiled and nodded a goodbye to both the exiting professors. She turned to 'vivi' and sophia, smiling at the young girls. "ohh they're so adorible" she crooned softly. They were pretty well behaved for children at that age. She had heard from her mother that she could be very noisy at times when she was a baby. She smiled to herself thinking about how her parents took the madness.

"Thank you, my dear, but I'd best do it. They're awfully fussy about eating right now. It takes a precise touch," she seated Genevieve at the table in her chair before sitting Sophia next to her. Feeding them both at the same time was a trick, and she had to set everything up to do it. Food, bottle, bibs, a cloth to wipe her own face and theirs, and several spoons.

Doyle had thought of going to the Headmistress's office but, figured if Cassandra wasn't in the nursery with the girls she'd forgive him for looking to them before her. He had been most pleased to hear of the special arrangement for the girls which had been made at the school. He knocked on the door, not wanting to alarm anyone by entering without warning.

"Come in," Rae called from where she'd pulled up a stool. She offered Sophia a bite of strained carrots, and she was completely unable to capture her daughter's attention. "Fee! Take a bite for Mum." The baby clapped her hands and squealed, and Rae glanced to the door. "Doyle!"

Doyle smiled and went over to Cassandra who's arms where full. he kissed her cheek and sat down beside Sophia, giving her a little hug which resulted in some carrot face getting smooshed to his shoulder. Uncharacteristically, he did nothing about it before taking the spoon from his wife to attempt the feeding. "How are my girls?"

"Not well, actually," Rae smiled wearily and switched to Genevieve. Vivi snatched the bottle from her mother and tipped her head all the way back. "Mean little thing," Rae smiled fondly and turned back to her husband. "I let Professor Blaylock give them a reading." She sighed.
