Leo noticed her smile left her face. He shrugged it off, why should he care?

"Oh you were kid," Leo said sweetly."It's just you said the same thing" he said again. "Well, I can't decide punishment on that since I am not a Professor" Leo said, "They should" he pointed to each and every professor as he said so.

Vince saw the continuing fight against a Gryffindor boy do something about this boy named Wood. He sighed and continued looking at the professor who seemed to greet him back. He heard the conversation over the accident, but he didn't mean to since they were near him. He wished he could not hear them, as he sighed. He looked back at the professor and said, "Well who are you exactly?" He did not the professor's last name, so he could not address her properly.

If he says kid one more time... thought Ringo, savagely.

Natalie sighed and looked at Professor Pride.
"Professor, please, you know Wood. You know what he's like, he's always picking on Ringo for no reason. Just like he did to Waddles in the Leaky Cauldron! Ringo was only defending himself, ma'am. He'd had enough of being pushed around. It's the start of term, could you perhaps let him off this one? Just this once, please?" she asked, hopefully.

Taking a deep breath, so her head would not explode, Danni replied, "its Professor Pride, now please return to your seat Vince."
Danni shook her head and shrugged, "That is not up to me Natalie, it is up to Professor Tolkien, I only came over to tell him what I know of the situation. Now please, Everyone not involved retun to your seat."

Natalie sighed, with a last glance at Professor Pride that said 'thanks anyway'.
She kissed Ringo on the cheek. "Good luck. I'll see you later."
With that she made her way back to the Gryffindor table.

He sighed, quietly. Professor Pride was fair, he knew this made him look like a trouble making git. What a good first impression I've made to the new teachers... he thought, pitifully.

Vince heard his name being called by Professor Pride, the transfiguration professor. He did not understand why he had to return to his seat. Maybe she thought I was part of the fight, while I wasn't... he thought inside his mind, still confused of why he had to return to his seat. He was having a good conversation with the Care of Magical Creatures professor. He sighed and looked at Professor Pride, wondering what he did besides talking to the CoMC professor. Maybe students shouldn't go in the staff table to talk to professors this time... he thought again looking at the time. He still did not know what to call the professor he had just met. "Well, goodbye... um Care of Magical Creatures... professor," still not knowing how to address her properly. "It was nice meeting you," he said, heading back to his seat, still confused of why Professor Pride introduced herself again to him, even though he had met her in his first year.

Taking a drink Ophelia smiled lightly watching the fiasco unfold, and thankfully, she wasn't involved. She turned her bright eyes on Vince as Professor Pride introduced herself to him and remembered her face, she hadn't met that colleague yet. "I'm Professor Maline, Vince," She said to him quietly as he turned away, and got back to her meal.

Hazelle sighed. She wasn't sure which was worse, the students approaching the table to start the sucking up early, or the ones already complaining about losing house points. She didn't care if the students thought it was fair or not, you don't question a professor.

Her headache was getting worse, but she still gave a supportive smile to Danni Pride.

Danni squinted against the light in the great hall to ease her headache and turned to look at the other professors. She caught Hazelle's smile and smiled back, giving her a half-hearted thumbs up.

He watched the arguing children and nodded somewhat. "Yes, this is rather what I remembered of Hogwarts." He looked to the professors currently handling the situation. "I still find it amazing that they're willing to cause trouble before they even have house points to lose. Do I want to know exactly what took place?"

For once in his life, Maximus wasn't focused on flirting with the females at the table for his mind was on Quidditch. "Now, where are my captains?" he mumbled to himself as he scanned the tables, trying to pick them out. It took a good ten minutes for him to locate all four of them from his vantage point.

"If you'll excuse me, I need to deliver a few messages to the Quidditch captains." He stood up and walked down into the throng of students, meandering from table to table until his deliveries were complete.

Cora nodded sadly. She didn't want Ringo to get into trouble! But she smiled at Leo and obediently stepped backwards. He obviously didn't want her to get involved!

Upon spotting the Quidditch teacher Cora glowed. Quidditch was the one thing that she could do well. But she couldn't make the team as she was only a first year. She sighed and smiled politely at him.

Then, deciding not to dig any deeper to try and get Ringo off, she wandered back towards the Slytherin table.

Looking about through her bright blue eyes, Professor Maline widened them in surprise. She didn't realise there were so many students attracted to the staff members. Did this happen every term? She shugged as if it was nothing important, watching Cora-Blue wander off back to her table once more.

Digging into the meal in front of her again, she smiled absently, it was nice to know that students felt they could talk to the Professors so freely, even if it was stopping them from eating.

Adam was glad for a momentary break in the student foot traffic that seemed to be coming up to the staff table and he concentrated on his food, cutting up a piece of steak and dipping it into tomato sauce before eating it. He made a mental note to take some steak back to his office to feed Kasabian with later.

Natasha watched the scene unfolding right before her eyes with a sense of dread. Oh dear, when she'd pulled the Five of Swords from her Tarot deck earlier, she had no idea how it would come...and of course, that it would come during supper! At least Professor Pride seemed to have taken care of the situation very well, and she wouldnt have to abandon the lovely lovely treacle tart on her plate.

She heard the question posed by one of the new professors, and as she took him in she felt oddly perturbed. He was quiet shocking, this man...and she swallowed her irrational fear of him to answer, "I believe it is some form of m-male inter-house rivalry." She cursed her tongue for the slip,right when she was doing so well, too!

*Madame Rowena looks over a few seats and sees Natasha pondering the outcome of her tarot cards. Though she never had any experience personally with tarot cards, there was an unexplainable shiver that went through her body at that moment. It passed as quickly as it came and Madame Rowena hardly remembered it a moment later as she reached over to pour herself some tea*

Trent finished off his meal and patted his belly in satisfaction. "That was good nosh," he said with a smile on his face, "I best head out to the grounds now to see if any of the little blighters are causing trouble. Speak to you all later and thank you for the company." He removed himself from his seat and headed out of the side door of the Great Hall.

"Well that would make some sense." He regarded her quietly and smiled to her. "Armand Erikson, the new Herbology professor. Something bothering you, Miss...?" He vaguely wished he could introduce himself properly, though as it was they were talking across a number of other staff members.

"Yes, that is an excellent idea," Jack stated to support the new professor. "Professor Pride, sorry your first opening feast has been marred by this. Wood can be a difficult student. He has a habit of picking on those who aren't, as he sees it, "pure blood"."

Then Tolkien looked directly at Ringo and continued, "That said young man, you too have a bit of checkered past. You are Ringo, if I am heard correctly, and you have been allowed to attend Hogwarts after you were expelled from another wizarding school. That is not normally done but your parents assured us that you would let's say "keep your nose clean". You have not made a good start on that promise. It's rather early to start docking houses points, so I think we should place these two boys in a detention together, Professor Pride."

"Perhaps their detention tasks should be something that will force them to improve their abilities to deal with each other." Tolkien suggested to Professor Pride. "I can oversee the detention or if you prefer you can do it." Tolkien waited for Pride and her response.

Danni gave Tolkien an odd look but said nothing at his remark about it being her first term. She hadn't been very social to the other professors last term with getting settled and all, so she didnt hold it against him for not remembering her. She gave Ringo a devilish grin and said, "Oh dont worry about it Professor Tolkein, I'm sorry I dont know your first name, I have an idea. I will handle they're detention, but feel free to stop by." With that, Danni nodded to the boys and went back to her seat to eat.

Maddison was so preoccupied with the delicious food she was consuming that she hadn't even noticed the parade of students that had come and gone from the staff table. Reaching for her napkin, she lightly dabbed the corners of her mouth after she finished her meal. From what she could see all of her colleagues seemed rather friendly and diverse in personalities.

She would have loved to have stayed and gotten to know them more, but she had much to do before things got too crazy. Giving Allegra a friendly wave she excused herself from the table and gently patted each Professor as she passed.

Walking swiftly passed the students she nodded and smiled before disappearing from the Great Hall.

"W-well, oh, it's B-Blaylock. Natasha Blaylock." A faint pink stained her cheeks at her second (or third?) slip of the night, "There's nothing bothering me, Professor Erikson, but thank you...for your concern." she could hardly explain the fact that she stuttered when she was nervous; and that he made her nervous. Merlin...all that over mashed potatoes?

He nodded, leaning forward a little to get a better look. He tilted his head, causing some stray strands of hair to fall into his face. "You do look familiar... Prettiest girl in school? Bet you're around 35 years old, right?" He smiled, leaning his head against his hand.
