The staff have gathered at the Head Table to wish the students, old and new, a safe and happy new term!

Maddison watched as other staff members made their way to the table. Noticing a woman (who didn't seem much older than herself) Maddison gave her a polite nod and a smile. She couldn't help but admire her beautiful robes.

About to take a sip of her juice, Maddison stopped when she heard a voice. Looking up from the rim of her goblet she saw that it was a student. Sitting up a bit straighter and setting her goblet down, she tilted her head slightly at the young boy and smiled, "Well you may call me Miss Daaé."

She gave him one last smile before watching him walk off towards the woman with the beautiful blue robe. Turning her head, Maddison looked out at the Great Hall and took in all the new faces.

Allegra walked into the Great Hall, praying to God that she wasn't the last one to arrive. How embarassing that would have been. She took a seat towards the end of the table next to a new professor. There seemed to be a lot of them this term. She nodded to the one she sat next to and smiled. "Hi there. I'm Allegra De Luca. You are?" The woman seemed foreign like she was herself so that made her feel a bit better.

Eliza walked up to the staff table,her Blood Red eyes looking at one Professor to the other.Her new shoes were clicking along ,making it sound as if she was tap-dancing,and her long brown hair was tied up with a bright pink ribbon.

She was wearing her Gryffindor uniform,sparkling as always,and her had a small purple necklace around her neck.Eliza nodded towards each Professor and smiled brightly "Good day Professors!..."she looked at the Nurse "Nurse!"she whipped out her new wand and waved it infront of her,small baskets of cookies appeared;one for every Professor and for the Nurse.

She handed one basket to each of them before returning infront of them."Just a present for each of yous!"she looked at Professor Maline before she turned elegently and walked back to the Gryffindor table.

Maddison was awakened from her pensive state when she heard a voice introduce themselves. Looking over out of habit, just to make sure it was her who was being addressed, Maddison was pleased to see that the introduction was indeed directed towards her.

"It is a pleasure meeting you Allegra. Don't mind if I call you that do you?" she let out a small laugh before regaining composure and introducing herself. She wasn't sure if teachers should be addressed on a first name basis, she just wanted to do things right.

"I'm Maddison Daaé the new Groundskeeper." she beamed as she stated her new job title. "What fine subject are you Professor of Allegra?" she asked as she reached for her goblet.

Maddison smiled at the young girl who had greeted all of the professors at the table. She watched as she conjured up a basket of cookies for each of them. A very sweet gesture, but it was in vain. Maddison didn't eat carbs, but perhaps just this once she could splurge on a sweet treat.

Maddison chuckled at Allegra's mention of feeling old when called Professor. "Oh yes that could make someone feel rather ancient."

For some odd reason Allegra reminded her of someone. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but it was as if they had met before. Upon further examination she realized where she had seen her before. Allegra reminded Maddison of one of her muggle dolls. Barbie to be exact, only with dark hair.

"Oh yes! I very much enjoy being outdoors. Its so peaceful and being amongst nature is just a great way to live ones life. Although some would disagree with me...most people would actually. I suppose its the bugs that turn some people off to the idea of being outdoors." Maddison shook her head slightly at the mention of bugs. She really didn't mind them, they were quite harmless and even if you were bitten by something and seconds away from death, it wasn't anything a good potion couldn't fix.

When Allegra stated the subject she taught, Maddison's eyes widened a bit. "Ancient Runes? Very interesting. Yes I'm afraid that even I was not very fond of that subject, although now that I'm older I've come to appreciate it more."

Maddison shrugged her shoulders slightly at Allegra's next inquiry, "I'm getting along just fine I suppose. It was and still is a bit overwhelming, but I expect I shall adjust. Also the move from America to London was a bit stressful, but after I got all of my personal affairs in order, everything seemed to fall into place."

"How long have you been teaching here?" she asked before taking a sip of her juice.

Danni Pride entered the great hall with a huge grin on her face and her salt-encrusted hat on her head. She sweeped the hat off and beat it on her arm to get rid of the excess salt as she walked, scattering little pieces of salt as she went.

She smiled to the students and gave the Slytherin table a wink, before reaching the staff table and knelt next to Adam, seeing as there were no seats available. "'Ello Adam m'dear. How are you this fine evening?" she said with her usual cheeky grin and a light, friendly punch to the shoulder.

Julian Jacobs wandered from the Slytherin table, where he was fraternizing with Cassandra and Neva, and gazed upon the Staff Table. There weren't many Professors that he knew personally, but he hoped to get to know them this term. He spotted one though, whom he had met a few weeks back in Diagon Alley. Professor Maline, he remembered her name to be. He smiled and caught the attractive woman's eye.

"G'day to you, Professor," he said politely. He caught the glances of the other Professors and nodded to them as well. As a seventh year, he had learned to be polite to all the Professors. Not to suck up, of course, but just to stay on their good side. He certainly didn't want to tick off any Professors and lose points even before term started. He clasped his hands behind his back and smiled politely at them.

She looked at Eliza and at the present that she had left and nodded her head in acknowledgment, "Thank you Eliza," she said softly yet kindly one of Ophelia's many butterflies landing upon Eliza's brown pony-tail.

Danni looked away from Adam for a moment to gaze at Eliza. After a mment she smiled and took the bag, "Thank you Eliza, I'm sure he'll love them. And these cookies look delicious." she said as she took one out and munched on it. She gave Eliza a thumbs up and added, "Waddles is in my office if you would like to see him after the feast."

Eliza smiled as Professor Pride gave her a thumbs up "Of course,I'll go and say Hi to Waddles after the feast!"she said cheerfully,maybe Professor Pride wasn't that bad after all.
She gave a small bow to Professor Pride out of politeness as a butterfly landed on her brown pony-tail.

Eliza grinned delightfully as she walked back to the Gryffindor table once again,the butterfly still upon her pony-tail.

She nodded once more, and picked up Frank, "Oh yes, it was lovely, please, hold Frank for a moment would you?" She asked him, placing the bright yellow spider in his hands anyway. She wiggled her shoulders loosening them up and smiled at Julian in a knowing way. "You're being very polite with me Mr Jacobs," She said cheekily, "You don't need to be."

"She likes you as well." He had a deeper meaning to it, but left it at that. He hoped that Ophelia would get what he meant.

He decided not to create anymore conversation with the poor woman before her head burst with the amount of attention she was receiving. Instead he looked up and down the table at the present staff, he smiled kindly to the woman who sat next to Ophelia, the nurse he believed.

Ophelia then realised, it probably wasn't a good idea, she already seemed to have attracted a small group of students. Not that she minded. She watched the look of amusement on Julians' face with delight, he seemed to be very interested in Frank, and that pleased her. It also helped that he seemed to have a sense of basic respect for animals. "Yes, animals are just as important as us, actually, i would say even more so. Julian, you think well about animals, we'll get along fine," Ophelia beamed.

She laughed warmly, very amused by Julians comment, "Oh you're so wrong! Twenty-two? I'm much older than that! Granted, in the same decade, but who said i was refering to myself as an elder?" She giggled cheekily, "You have good morals Julian." She complemented him.

She watched the look of amusement on Julians' face with delight, he seemed to be very interested in Frank, and that pleased her. It also helped that he seemed to have a sense of basic respect for animals. "Yes, animals are just as important as us, actually, i would say even more so. Julian, you think well about animals, we'll get along fine," Ophelia beamed.

She laughed warmly, very amused by Julians comment, "Oh you're so wrong! Twenty-two? I'm much older than that! Granted, in the same decade, but who said i was refering to myself as an elder?" She giggled cheekily, "You have good morals Julian." She complemented him.

Julian nodded in complete agreement. He was glad that he found someone who loved animals, magical creatures, as much as he himself did. He gazed down at the arachnid, smiling down at it. "I don't think I'd ever be able to think ill of animals," he said truthfully. "Brilliant color, by the way," he commente, referring to Frank.

He looked up in surprise. "Honestly?" he asked. "Much older? I don't believe it. Not with the way those younger students are gazing at you. You'd think that you were a goddess, the way they stare at you." He chuckled, glad that he was immune to her charms. Granted, he did think her beautiful, but he had someone of his own, and was not at all interested in a student/Professor affair. Too messy.

Julian smiled politely when she complimented him. "Why thank you very much, Professor," he said graciously. "I appreciate the compliment." He smiled at her once more as he absently played with Frank.

She laughed slightly and tilted her head to the side. "Ah yes, that spider is a present from Neva actually, no wonder i'm so fond of it." She beamed happily, her butterfly halo now moving over her shoulders and neck, a few still floating around her head.

She blinked suddenly gaping at Julian with shock. She continued to blink with surprise, thinking that surely, he was joking. There was no way students were looking at her like that, were they? "Julian...you must be mistaken! They're not looking at me like that are they? A Goddess? Oh..." She blushed, incredibly amazed that at twenty-nine, she seemed to be attracting younger admirers. She looked around the hall as if to assure herself that she wasn't, when she caught sight of a young Gryffindor boy gazing at her. She gave him a warm, polite smile and turned back to Julian, stunned.

She smiled and nodded her head, taking a sip of her pumpkin juice once more.

Julian shook his head. "No, I don't believe I'm mistaken." He followed her gaze and smiled. "See, Professor?" he said. "I told you. That's why I don't believe that you're older than twenty-two." He nodded firmly. He himself could believe it though, that she had admirers already. With those butterflies fluttering around her head, and her sweet countenance, it's no wonder she had students staring at her.

She opened and closed her mouth like a goldfish, completely amazed. "Oh...but...it's...why?" She asked, still incredibly stunned that she had already seen one of her said admirers. She wasn't doing anything special, and yet...she seemed to have aquired a fan club. It was so strange to her.
