Adam, once he had located the proper key, opened the door to the Potions Classroom. A large titanium cauldron much like the one in his office was in the middle of the room near a table which was located in front of a blackboard. He walked in, followed by his small black kitten Kasabian, who promptly jumped up on the table, curled around and went to sleep. Adam set his notes on the table and sat on it, waiting for the students to arrive. While he waited he magically lit all the candles in the room, which made up for the lack of natural lighting in the dungeons, and also warmed the room.
OOC: Class will start once a suitable number of students have arrived. Once I start class, don't post yourself arriving or you will be docked points, just act like you've been there all along. | |

Curt smiled, "Ah Almost." he said smiling at the professor. He remember his brother had been sent to the hospital wing for not brewing his Witsharpening Potion correctly the night before final exams. Curt just laughed at the thought.

Just because it's used in a potion doesn't mean it has those attributes. Another example is fluxweed it's a mint related plant but when mixed with other things it helps make polyjuice potion. "

Gem had never used the potion before because she hadnt heard of it. She smiled to herself, hoping she never would have to use one, hoping her wit was strong enough by itself. But maybe in Potions... Potions she wasnt brilliant at but this teacher was really inspiring her to study. He seemed very passionate about Potions and was making it rather fun.

" "Also true. Ingredients have their own properties, as to the potions they are used in, but those properties may not be the same. Some innocuous ingredients when used in some potions can be deadly, and conversely some extremely toxic ingredients if used in the right potion can be very safe.
Anyone know an example of a very toxic ingredient, and the potion it is used in?"

Yep, no way I'm making a wit sharpening potion she confirmed in her mind. She didnt want her brain to melt or something, that'd be horrid. Daisy seemed to be quite good at Potions... so did the rest of the students. She'd need someone to help her study a bit more sense Potions didnt come naturally to her. But when Gem Jewels was determined she found a way to do better and she knew she'd be by the lake all evening studying Potions and watching her snake egg for COMC. It would be a nice evening.

"That's a good point, but unless you have an uncle with an Armadillo farm, it's quite hard to capture one yourself. That and the vast majority of potion makers, myself included, prefer our ingredients ready to use, otherwise you could spend months or years tracking down the raw ingredients you needed for a particular potion"
