| | |  Potions Lesson One
Adam, once he had located the proper key, opened the door to the Potions Classroom. A large titanium cauldron much like the one in his office was in the middle of the room near a table which was located in front of a blackboard. He walked in, followed by his small black kitten Kasabian, who promptly jumped up on the table, curled around and went to sleep. Adam set his notes on the table and sat on it, waiting for the students to arrive. While he waited he magically lit all the candles in the room, which made up for the lack of natural lighting in the dungeons, and also warmed the room.
OOC: Class will start once a suitable number of students have arrived. Once I start class, don't post yourself arriving or you will be docked points, just act like you've been there all along. | |

Vince looked at the professor greeting the students who had also greeted him, smiling as he knew this was a nice professor. Looking as he saw him grab a box, he gave a confused face, wondering why everyone need name tags if they could normally introduce himself. Knowing it was hard to remember everyone's name, taking a badge, writing his name, Vince Emrys. He smiled, ready to do some potion working.

Curt came into potions in a hurry after Care of Magical Creatures. He walked up to the professors dest and grabbed a name card. "How are you today Professor?" said Curt has he wrote his name in big letters on the card. He then went to grab one of the seats in the front row and unpacked his belongings for potions.

Adam looked up and saw his classroom was very nearly full. Just about everyone had a namebadge, except for that boy who had only greeted him once he'd gotten to the back of the classroom.
"You don't want a namebadge?" Adam asked the boy (Jake). "Okay then Daisy" he added, giving the boy a nickname that was hilarious to him, even if it wouldn't be to the boy in question.
"I think we're about ready to start now. First thing I want you to do is open up your Potions Textbooks that you bought in Diagon Alley and open them to the title page".

Gem wrote in her messy scrawl, Gem Jewels. She sat down and at once felt nervous. She wasnt very good at Potions. When she tried to recall names of ingredients they always evaded her. She bit her lip and sat down next to Emma, tapping her fingers on her desk. "Hello," she whispered, fingers still tapping and she waited for class to begin. She may be nervous but she was excited on the prospect of learning. She flipped open her book and looked at the Professor, stifling a giggle when he called a boy 'daisy.'

Still deciding where to place his name tag so it would be visible to everyone Hayden heard the professor give instructions. He quickly put the namebadge on hold and got out his textbook. After it was open to the title page he stuck the namebadge to his forehead, making sure not to get his hair caught in it.

After shutting her bag she flipped the book open to the first page, the title page, wondering why they would be starting at the title page, which didn't seem to have any important information on it other than the name, author, and publisher of the book. The boys in my House are sure amusing! Gem thought with a smile. One's name was now Daisy and the other had his nametag stuck to his forehead. The pretty Ravie chuckled and she glanced at both of them, smile still present, golden colored eyes sparkling. They seemed nice to... Maybe it'd be good to make a few guy friends because at the moment she pretty much knew only all girls with the exception of Skylar and her cousin.

"You make a valid point Daisy, I realise I haven't introduced myself to the class. When he observed that most of the class now had their textbooks open to the title page, he continued talking. "Now, the authors of that textbook. Their average age is 93. Not that there's anything wrong with being old, but they've been making the same potions the same way for the last 70 odd years. I don't know about you but that sounds dreadfully boring to me. I like to change things up, deviate from the bog standard potion instructions. So the very first thing I want you to do is to add your name to the list of authors, because this term you will be adding your own ingredients to the potions listed in that book" Adam said, standing up from his seat on the table.
