Closing her eyes briefly, trying to calm down, she nodded, assuring herself and stepped forward through the opening in the bushes. |

The Gryffindor champions entered the foreboding maze, with the bushes all but slamming them in. No turning back now.
The first one, Bucky, hesitated long enough to get her barrings, and started off at a slow pace, she approached the first fork, for either left, right, or straight, so she must decide.
The second, Whende, soon appeared beside her, and was forced to a pause from her quick pace.
They contemplated the directions a little too long, for out of nowhere, a giant blue fur ball came crashing down the path directly in front of them, yelling "ME WANT COOKIE!!!"

Celestina stared at the paths ahead of her and wondered where the heck to go now. Maybe she'd close her eyes and point randomly and BOOM that's where she'll be headed to. There was an uneasy feeling at the pit of her stomach. Her hand gripped tighter around the disheveled shamrocks littered inside her pockets. She was just going to go to her left when something blue and loud came at her. Whipping her wand quickly, she ducked the first attack and squinted at it, aiming her wand at it's body. "Stupefy!"
"Cookie?! Do I look like I carry cookies around?" She shrieked at it. Cookie?! What was next? Someone asking her for cheese or any other dairy product? | |

The blue fur ball had been stupefied by one of the champions, and the other stood there offering her hair. Neither moved, or rather, none of them moved. Cookie couldn't move, and why the other two hadn't....who knew?
Blast-ended skewerts came from behind the two champions, and, naturally, shot fire at them.

Bucky sniffed the air. Something was burning. Feeling heat rise up on her legs she glanced down to notice her robes were on fire. Instinctively discarding them she ran up, trying to find somewhere to hide. Tough luck. Her wand still drawn she turned around just in time to duck a fireball. "Aguamenti!" She shouted and sprayed the blast-ended skrewts. That would cool them down for now and deciding not to take her chances she stupefied them as well. | |

Just when she thought she was free from danger, at least temporary, Bucky was facing a very angry looking wolf. She patted her pockets wondering what she had inside. Maybe some old pasty? Nope? Just the shamrocks and she wasn't about to chuck those at the wolf. Not yet. They were supposed to be lucky, Tagren... Fiddling with the ring she received at the end of the first task she slipped it on in case it granted her super powers.
Avoiding direct eye contact, she raised her wand slowly and aimed it casually at the nearest bush to the wolf. "Incendio!" She hissed and hoped the fire would at least scare the wolf. Not likely but she couldn't really bring herself to hurting the animal. | |

As one of the champions went running off down another side way, the other set a bush on fire and chased the wolf away. The way is now clear for Bucky to continue onward.
Whende, on the other hand, is now lost somewhere, but, thankfully, there's a suit of armour who pops up to offer some advice amongst the forks present.
"You know, you could go to the left," he pointed his right arm to the left, "the weather is quite nice there, I hear. Or...if you like some adventure, you could go right." He used his left arm to point right, "One never knows what one will find over there. Of course, straight ahead is good as well," his left foot pointed straight, "nice and straight, that's the way to be, fastest way between two points, I always say. Then, obviously, you could go behind you," his right foot pointed this time, "No place is ever as safe as a place as the one you've left." By this time, the suit of armour looked like he was in the middle of a game of muggle twister. Which piece of advice do you take?

Whende couldn't help but giggle at the suit of armor. He looked pretty funny, like he should have come out of the Wizard of Oz. Right sounded awfully tempting though, besides, she had no idea where she was anyway. Right it is.
"Thank you," she said, saluting the armor. She started off to the right, walking backwards to see if he'd salute back. That'd be pretty nifty.

Out of nowhere, cornish pixies came flying at whende, picking her up, dropping her, messing up her hair, trying to steal her clothes, any and everything they could do they did.

It was true. Most animals were scared by fire, including humans. She began to walk forward, fingers gripped tightly around her wand. The maze seemed to be collecting neat little creatures all determined to eat her alive. A dragon? Swallowing she flinched slightly at the screaming. There was no turning back--was there? Clenching her fists she cursed inwardly her mother's voice who taunted her. Dragon first. Stepping around it on her tip-toes she hoped it wouldn't wake suddenly and try to light her up. | |
