| | Divination Lesson 3 Professor Blaylock sat in the centre of the circular room, which actually looked like it normally did. Low tables were scattered around the classroom, with big comfortable cushions for the students to sit on. No plants, no jars filled with livers...right, she thought, hopefully this was going to be a normal lesson. Or at least, as normal as it could get in Divination. She took a peek at the clock, wondering where Armand was. He was late. OOC: Come in, take a seat and keep the chatter down. Lya! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Shauna! Fifth | Shauna just, well... sat there, or rather lied there.
Everyone in this class seemed to know each other, and seemed to have... differences with one another.
She thought to herself.. palm 'readers'...
She raised her hand to the question at hand. "Er.. palmists?" She had no idea if this was remotely correct, but it made sense!

| The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas. Ariana's hand rose up again "Aren't they also known as chirologists?" she wrote this down to be sure. She was beginning to love Divination, but today her heart wasn't in it.

"Um, chiromancers, palmists, palm readers, hand readers, or chirologists?" Cassandra said, a little unsure about some of these, but was sure about a few.

Ha. She would have answered but everyone in the class kept barking their mouths and whatnot. She rubbed the pillow in her front, feeling quite itchy and shoved her hand down her front in an attempt to scratch her belly. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Armand Beta-Erikson Slytherin First Year Hogwarts RPG Name: Damien Beta-Erikson Slytherin First Year | Slytherin by heart Armand smirked at Leo's reaction and leaned back. Thankfully he didn't need to do much, and they'd already gone over the reading. He was just a dummy now, and beyond the students there wouldn't be many surprises.

"It is believed that its origins are with the Roma fortune tellers and Indian mystics." Kennedy responded.

"I have no idea Professor. I'm sure it has something to do with Gypsies," she replied. "And I doubt it originated in Chyromanlandia." |

"Modern palmistry can trace its roots back to Roma (gypsy) fortune tellers." Cassandra said, her hand raised, she was a little unsure about this answer, but oh well...

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sloane W. Fordyce First Year | Cheesy Mac Kennedy giggled lightly to herself when she heard the Gryffindor girl jokingly say the word "Chyromanladia." It was the first thing to make Kennedy laugh all day and she was quite grateful for it. Kennedy's mood lifted a bit after this point.

| The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas. Ariana flipped through her notebook but couldn't find the answer. She shrugged and wrote down the answers, trying to close her mind from intruding emotions and thoughts. It seemed to be working though, but she was getting tired now and almost yawned in class. Clearing her hed, she looked up at the professor for another question.

One pair of green eyes looked into the other. Merlin, Celestina Warbuck had actually answered a question in her class! She should have made a bet on this! "Why, yes, indeed...Gypsies...well done, Bucky." Still a little shocked, she exchanged a knowing glance with Erikson, as if saying "OMG CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?!" "Errm...wow, yes, okay. A lot of people think that Chiromancy is just reading a person's fortune...but what is it really? Can anyone hazard a guess?" |

She snorted, and leaned back in the mass of pillows she managed to assemble around her.

| The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas. Ariana raised her hand, "Well, it's also known as a pseudoscience. I mean, everyone's hands ae diffrent so it's not a good form of Divination, half the time,if not all the time the readings are wrong or missaid." she guessed. "It's a lot of guesswork, isn't it?" she said.

Kennedy thought about Professor Blaylock's question but wasn't quite sure if she should answer. In fact, she wasn't quite sure if she even had an answer! She decided to give it a shot and made a guess, "Well, can't you tell a lot about a person's character from the hand? And also, if you use the non-dominant hand, doesn't that often give information about the person's past and childhood? So really, it tells more than just their future fortunes - it tells their past and part of their present."

She turned to Leo and stopped rubbing her pillow belly momentarily.
"See that? Yay me!" She commented and threw her arms up briefly before returning to rubbing her pillow and nodding as if she was truly interested in the lesson.
"It is..." Bucky was in a blank. "Okay, Professor Blaylock. One annual answer from me, okay?"
She thought about it some more. Nope. Blank. |

"Yes, that's the answer I was looking for. Take 2 points, dear." Natasha smiled at the young Ravenclaw kindly before turning to the rest of the class. "Right, besides telling a person's future, you can also tell a lot about the person's character from their hand. For instance," She reached out for Armand's left hand and held it up in front of the class so that the palm faced them, "Ar-Professor Erikson has a very long Head line, which tells us that he's the type of person who likes to think things through very carefully." She put his hand down, giving it a pat before going on, "We can also tell a person's past from their hands. Now, can anyone tell me which hand tells the past, and which hand tells the future?" |
