| | |  Divination Lesson 1
As you climb up the ladder and into the classroom, you notice that it looks nothing like it did last year, or any of the previous years. Instead of the comfortable beanbags and low coffee tables, there were rows and rows of surgical looking tables. The class is decorated to look exactly like a muggle biology lab, and on top of every table are rows of glass jars containing something that looks horribly like a human heart! Professor Blaylock is sitting on her own surgical table up at the front of the class, swinging her legs as she eats an apple. "Come in now, you're in the right class!" she calls out, "Just find a seat and sit tight." As you watch her, you notice that she's wearing white robes that looked quite like those used in ancient sacrificial rituals...and that she's slicing her apple with a surgical knife. OOC: Come in, sit down and please keep the chatter to a minimum. I dont mind hellos and how do you do's, but lets not go in detail on how your granny is doing and all that jazz <3 | |

Kennedy entered the Divination classroom for her very first Divination lesson and was quite surprised by what she saw. It was not at all how she pictured the classroom to be, especially considering how different it was from Professor Blaylock's office. She greeted Professor Blaylock, "Hello Professor Blaylock, how are you today?" and took her seat, awaiting further instructions.

Christian walked in after his lovely swim in the lake. His hair still dripped with water, but the rest of him was dry. He had made the choice of leaving his soccer ball back in the common room, but he couldn't bare to leave Shadow, his kitten, behind. He knew Shadow wouldn't be any of a hassle for he was asleep in his bag and most likely wouldn't awaken until Christian had left the class and headed back to the lake. Feeling awake, he slid into the classroom. He spotted the professor on her desk cutting an apple with a surgical knife. Wondering if he should run away, he cautiouslly entered began to head to a seat. He greeted the professor eyeing her with great care and making sure he kept his distance. Christian was brave, but it faultered at sights of weirdness.

Haven't changed that much to say. But man, I still think them cats are crazy.

Caitlin entered the classroom, relieved that she was not late. She'd dropped her books in the hallway, and they were all rather hard to pick up with a sprained wrist. She wished her parents would let her fix it with Magic ... but no ...
Caitlin stood in one of the front tables, then peered up at the Professor, grinning. Whatever was going on, Caitlin liked it - Muggle medicine infatuated her, and apparently Professor Blaylock has an interesting side to her. They were going to get along wonderfully.
Caitlin cleared her throat, then raised her (sprained) hand. Then, with the other hand, she reached into her bag and pulled out an apple. "Mind if I eat mine, too?"

Ariana walked in yawning it had been a long night and she wasn't fully awake yet, but she had lessons so she put up with the fact she wouldn't be able to nap like she wanted too. Smiling at the professor she said, "Hello Professor, how are you?" and sat down near the middle of the room, putting her books out wating.

Caitlin grinned. "It's all right ... you'd previously said that there was to be no eating before the lesson ... I figured I'd try a loophole, and eat during the lesson."
If the Professor was trying to provoke Caitlin, however, it wasn't working. She liked Professor Baylock's sarcastic style. It reminded her of home, and especially of her brother.
Deciding to be quiet for now, she pushed the apple back into her bag, then dropped it to the floor. She couldn't wait to see what they were doing today.

Kerry walked into the classroom about to greet the professor when she was taken aback by the appearance of the classroom. The comfortable bean bags and coffetables she had always been accustomed to were gone and in their place were large tables that made the room look like some sort of labratory.
Kerry walked in still taking in the new appearance of the room, when her jaw nearly fell wide open at the jars in front of her. "Were those real human hearts in there?" She wondered as she inspected the jars, careful to keep a safe distance.

A wicked grin lit up her face at the student's words, "Aaah yes....I hope none of you ate before the lesson. It would be quite unfortunate if an accident were to happen."
She herself had only had that one apple all day, and only because she was starving. She would probably regret it as they moved on to the practical part of today's lesson. | |

Kerry was going to go down and have breakfast thinking her stomach could handle just about anything, but waking up late she never had time to get there, and now she was glad she did, she thought to herself as she waited to find out what they would be doing.

Curt walked into the Divination common room, looked pretty cool, nothing like he expected. He was pretty hungry having not eatin yet. He wasn't sure, but he couldn't sworn that the thing inside the jar was a human heart.

"Okie dokie, shall we begin this lesson now?" Natasha asked, not really waiting for an answer. With a flick of her wand, she trap-door that the students had come through slammed shut, thus barring any late-comers from entering the classroom (OOC: But you can still join in, just dont RP yourself coming in..you dig?). With another flick of her wand, a single tarot card flew up off the table and hovered in the air in front of her face.  She looked around the card at the students, "Now...what is this card, and why do you think I put it up with the notice about today's lesson?"

Kerry raised her hand, "That's the Ace of wands and it usually represents New energy, a burst of creativity, beginning a self improvement program, the start of a spiritual quest. So my guess is this class is about a new beginning, sending ourselves on a new spirtitual quest of learning" Kerry said completely unsure what to expect for the class as she looked at the jar in front of her.

Ariana frowned, not knowing what it was. No one in her family liked Divination, they all thought it was dodgy but she thought it was interesting. She began to take notes as the professor started the lesson.
