"It all depends on how you treat the Dragon I guess. If you treat it fairly and with compassion it won't turn into a Dark creature. But if you treat with it hate, than yes. So I guess, it just depends on the dragon and it's attitude." Ariana said, raising her hand, not quite sure. She didn't think any creatures were dark, it was just how you treated them.

shortfry 04-11-2007 01:05 AM

Kerry raised her hand "I don't think it's a dark creature as it can't really be trained by anyone to do any dirty work, it's classified a 5, which means Known wizard killer / impossible to train or domesticate. I would think a dark creature is one that is purposely trained to be dark and evil, but I could be wrong."

marfamarfa 04-11-2007 01:07 AM

Torie raised her hand. "I don't think so, Professor considering that they don't meet all of the criteria for being a dark creature. Although they are magical in nature, they don't intentionally seek to harm humans. Often times it is humans that seek to harm them. As well, dragons have a complete life cycle. They are born, they live, and they die. They don't stick around simply for spite."

Cassirin 04-11-2007 01:08 AM

"Ah, I see there's a difference of opinion here. We need to delve into what is and what is not a dark creature. Let's take a for-example. Ariana said that we could make a dragon dark. I agree that we can rile a dragon up to attacking, but let's flip that. Is a dementor ever NOT dark?"

lemondrop13 04-11-2007 01:09 AM

"No a dementor is ALWAYS dark because it always seeks to harm others. It doesn't act only to survive. It actually enjoys harming people." Kennedy replied.

Suziella 04-11-2007 01:09 AM

Suzy raised her hand, "i dont think that a demontor is ever not dark. I mean yes they are controled, but they still can try to do dark things with out being provoked."

shortfry 04-11-2007 01:13 AM

Kerry raised her hand, "But there are times that if a dementor doesn't sense evil or darkness, it will not bother with someone and will pass them over, so maybe in that sense it's not dark. I mean they sense the deepest darkest memories in people... since they are blind. They feed off these emotions. If they can't sense these emotions in people then they can't act upon it, right?" Kerry asked really confused.

Amber agreed with al of hem she knew the answer but didnt answer quite fast enough

Golden Monkey 04-11-2007 01:19 AM

Ariana wanted to answer, but bit her toungue hard to stop herself. She knew what the answer should be, but she had her own ideas. Instead, she sat back and wrote everything down.

Cassirin 04-11-2007 01:26 AM

"I don't know a dementor that will pass someone by and not suck them dry. They may not give the kiss to everyone, but there is no one that goes unaffected by their presence. A dementor was created to be dark, has no natural life cycle, and hurts for the sake of hurting. They aren't natural creatures, and that's the difference between a dark creature and a creature that is just dangerous. What other dangerous creatures can you think of taht aren't dark?"

lemondrop13 04-11-2007 01:27 AM

"A Manticore. It may attack you but it will do it to eat you. It wants you as a food source to survive. It is a predator but not a dark creature."Kennedy answered.

wingardium leviosa 04-11-2007 01:28 AM

"a hipogryff" Amber said

Golden Monkey 04-11-2007 01:29 AM

Ariana raised her hand, "Um, a Blast-ended Skrewt? They may be dangerous but if you know how to handle them, you'll find they are quite harmless, well sort of. But certainly not dark." she said.

marfamarfa 04-11-2007 01:32 AM

Torie giggled. "A Pixie! They are merely pests!"

shortfry 04-11-2007 01:32 AM

Kerry raised her hand, "the merpeople unless really provoked or finding themselves in dire need to defend themselves I would think are not dark."

Suziella 04-11-2007 01:32 AM

Suzy raised her hand, "n erumpent is a dangerous creature. Its a rhino like creature that has fluid in its horn that explodes."

marfamarfa 04-11-2007 01:36 AM

Torie raised her hand again. "As well, bowtruckles can be dangerous if they are provoked, but they only do it as a defence mechanism, not to purposely harm people."

Cassirin 04-11-2007 01:41 AM

"Good... excellent. Now we're thinking. So let's name some DARK creatures. These are creatures that cause harm for the sake of harming, that don't have a natural lifecycle, and that were created magically."

lemondrop13 04-11-2007 01:42 AM

"Some dark creatures include grindylows, red caps, hinkypunks, and kappas, banshees, dementors, and boggarts." KK answered

Suziella 04-11-2007 01:43 AM

SUzy raised her hand, "Um would banshees be a dark creature?"

Golden Monkey 04-11-2007 01:44 AM

"Um, would Inferi be one?"Ariana asked, her hand raised. She honeslty didn't know since she wasn't really happy studying the dark creatures.

shortfry 04-11-2007 01:45 AM

Kerry raised her hand, "would a werewolf count?"

marfamarfa 04-11-2007 01:46 AM

"A baslisk." said Torie.

Cassirin 04-11-2007 01:57 AM

"Yes, those are all good suggestions, but let's explore the werewolf for a moment. Thoughts? Opinions?"

lemondrop13 04-11-2007 01:59 AM

"During the time when the werewolf is in its human form, it is not a dark creature. However, when it does transform, its sole intent it to attack people with the intention of passing on the disease to others or to kill them, thereby making them dark during that time." KK suggested.
