Kerry sat and admired the Headmistress for her courage in speaking out. She couldn't think of any questions at the moment to ask, so she sat back and waited to see what her classmates would want to know about her or the class itself.

cecilia certainly knew where professor Rae was coming from. she felt that way herself. She smiled as she opened her notebook. this class was going to be fun!

Nikki was shocked to have the professor open up like that in front of the class, but it also made her respect her. It must have been really hard to go through that. She felt very privileged to have such a great professor.

Ariana sat in her chair amazed at what the profssor had gone through. Ariana loved what the professor said about knowledge being power, it was quite true. Taking her quill she sat ready, waiting to see if anyone had any questions.

Caitlin shook her head no. She had no questions; she only wanted to learn. The teacher's opening speach shoked her a little - of course, she'd heard about the Professor's husband, but she wasn't prepared for such an open topic at the beginning of class.

She didn't mind, though. Instead she scribbled a note onto her parchment: Look into the past. Learn more about HM.

She set down her quill, her right hand throbbing, and looked up expectantly at the Headmistress, waiting for her to continue or to answer questions.

Savannah listened interestedly as Professor Rae spoke,
She was very excited and wanted to know everything and anything.
Savannah giggled as The Professor said she'd fire herself if she didn't think she knew what she was doing.
'This is going to be so much fun' Savannah thought to herself and turned her head slightly, Smiling at Cecilia before turning to look at the Professor again.

Nikki started to make some notes, just preparing herself for the class...She looked over at her friend Kerry who was doing the same, so she also had a look at her notes.

Occ. awe i have uni by then so looks like i'll miss the class *sigh*

Kennedy sat with her quill at the ready and new parchment laid out on her desk, quite anxious to begin her first DADA lesson and to meet Professor Rae. Kennedy had not yet had the pleasure of meeting her and was excited to be able to finally do so. When Professor Rae joked about firing herself had she not been qualified, Kennedy giggled softly. She could appreciate the Headmistress's humor. When Professor Rae spoke of her past and her present circumstances, Kennedy could only sympathize, but not empathize because she herself had never experienced a loss so significant or painful. Though it saddened her that Professor Rae had experienced the loss of her husband, Kennedy was at least glad that she had shared the story with the class because it put things into perspective. The reality of the world is that not all witches and wizards are good and bad things can and do happen to people who don't deserve it. The sooner she and her classmates learned that fact, the better off they would be.

BEck sat next to mj and wrote her notes as the professor spoke, "hey mj!" she smiled

Ariana put down her quill and leaned back, stretching hr muscles. She pulled out her sketchbook and started sketching the window beside her. It had a wonderful view and Ariana wanted to capture it in charcol. She ignored everyone around her as she bgan to get engrossed in her work.

Atmor sat with her chin rested on her hand and she sighed he father forced her to take DADA this year, she didnt really look forward to it.She looked around and saw Cecilia, rolling her eyes she looked somewhere else hoping she wouldnt notice her.

Heather sat with her mind buzzing with thoughts.she waited with her emotins running high.she just couldnt wait for her first D.A.D.A class of the year.

Cecilia saw Atmor out of the corner of her eye. She just ignored her, forgot that her presence was even in the room, and immediately cleared her mind.

Then,very late,Rose came rushing in.She was so upset she was late but she dozed off after potions homework."Sorry,Professer I dozed off after potions homework"she said with a tired breath."It is okay Rose".Rose sat down,Jerry,who had a crush on Rose since their first year,moved from his seat to the emty desk beside her.Rose got out her wand quill and parchment and hurried to make up for lost notes.

Atmor rolled her eyes at the Ravenclaw she had just lost her house points. She had just noticed Cecilia looking around at her, she shook her head and looked down her her hand.

Vince looked at the girl being late because she basically dozed off when after she had done her homework, sighing, making sure it was not loud enough for everyone to hear, as he thought of the point removal the girl made for Ravenclaw. He looked at her, his eyes widening when the professor never answered her, and she already took her seat. Great! Ravenclaw will probably lose ten points for this one... he thought, sighing. He scratched his head, quickly glaring at the girl. Looking back at the professor, he wrote his name on his parchment, waiting for questions and further instructions she was going to tell them.

Torie sat quietly near the back of the room as she listened to her classmates talk. A tear trickled slowly down one cheek, and she brushed it away angrily with the sleeve of her jumper. Professor Rae's story had been so sad, and it had taken all of Torie's willpower not to burst into tears once the Professor had finished speaking. Sniffling slighty, she reached into the pocket of her skirt for a tissue and tried to blow her runny nose as silently as possible.

When she had managed to get a hold of herself, she pulled her knees up and rested them against the edge of the desk. She leaned backwards slightly so that she rested her back on the desk behind. In this semi-comfortable position, she surveyed the class with her bright blue eyes, taking in all of the students gathered there. She felt so priviledged to have been able to return to Hogwarts this year, as she had almost been too sick to come. Luckily, she had recovered in time, and was relishing the experience more than ever.

Torie continued to watch and listen. She tried to think of a question to ask Professor Rae, but unfortunately could think of nothing. She waited patiently for the lesson to continue.

Ariana sighed as the Ravenclaw girl came bursting in late. There goes our lead she thouht miserably and was determined to get those points back. She turned back to her drawing, waiting.

Jill smield brightly at the mentioning of the Professor's girls. She looked up and her eyes darted between the board and the professor, awaiting notes to be taken.

MJ heard Beck's voice and smiled but didn't want to lose her house points. She sent her a message she was glad she had learned to use it. Hey Beck, sorry I don't want to lose points ffrom our house, I lost us some last time in Astronomy... she told her and waited for the professor to say something. As she wrote her name on the piece of parchment she sighed. She was tired from last night.

Cecilia smiled secretly and poked Savannah with her elbow, she knew that Atmor had just seen the Claddagh Ring that Conner had given her. She also knew that Atmor was no dummy and would know The Legend of the Claddagh ring. She wondered what the reaction would be when Atmor told Zachery that she was betrothed to someone else...

Kennedy was startled by the Ravenclaw who came in late. Immediately Kennedy's face reddened in anger. She had earned her house a fair deal of housepoints over the last few days and this clueless person was going to get them taken all away. Trying to calm herself so that she didn't burst into tears from bottled up anger, Kennedy began some deep breathing exercises and vowed to try even harder to earn more housepoints this lesson.

Patrick pulled out quill, pqrchment and ink and addressed the sheaf. Looking around waiting for the notes to start he didn't see anyone he knew in this class.

Savannah looked at Cecilia as she felt her bump her in the arm,
She smiled slightly and quickly grabbed her hippogriff book out of her bag and opened it around the middle before looking at Cecilia once more,
'Please, Don't talk to her Ce, Its not worth it. I don't want to get introuble.' Savannah thought to herself, Hoping Cecilia would pick up on her thoughts.
