Rissa stared at her fellow classmates in disbelief. "Sometimes," she said irritatedly, "Sometimes, you don't have a choice but to fight. Not everybody wants to duel. I believe that most of the time, the situation is thrust upon you, which is why the Professor is trying to get us to think and have more knowledge so we know how to react to the situation." Rissa paused to take a breath. She hoped she wasn't getting out of line. "Have courage and strength is great and all, but not if it is misused. One shouldn't go around and hex everyone who bugs you just for the sake of it...Although..." she said, her tone softtning..."I'm not saying anyone of us would do that....:

Ariana gave the professor a small smile knowing the answer to this question. Putting her hand up she said, "I read somewhere about a necklace of opals which instantly curses the victim when touched.I think a Gryffindor student fell vitctim to one a long time ago." She had read this in a history book hr mother leant her last year.

"Cursed objects," suggested Patrick raising his hand.

Liz nodded to what Curt had said. "I agree Professor Dark Objects can range from a small ring or a sword for that matter. Dark Wizards and witches probally put spells on the objects, making them Dark objects." She finished and smiled.

Davina's hand shot up into the air."Well professor there are many dark objects at large, many you wouldnt even think are dark objects. Some objects can be charmed by dark magic, for example necklaces and such. One example of an object that was made evil though professor would be the poisonous candle."

suzy couldnt think of any dark objects off the top of her head, but she raised her hadn anyway, " i think that anything could be a dark object if the person that is using is a dark wizard."

Amelia's hand shot in the air again at this question, yes... i know some dark objects, she thought as her mind began racing wildly.

She responded clearly to the Professor, "There are many dark objects Professor. One famous store that sells dark items can be found in Knockturn Ally, called Borgin and Burkes. They can range anything from human bones and skulls, a pack of blood-stained cards, a glass eye, the Hand of Glory, hangman's rope, masks, cursed opal necklaces, vanishing cabinets, shrunken heads, live and gigantic black spiders, poisonous candles, human fingernails, or flesh-eating slug repellent.
She stopped talking, and gave the teacher and other students a change to respond.

Rissa thought for a moment..."I'm not sure what they are.....but I've heard adults speak of these in really hushed tones...they're like.." Rissa thought, scratching her head...."I know what it is...IT starts with a H and sounds French...Ah! Hocruxes or something..." Rissa trailed off, hoping that this wasn't a forbidden topic...

Kerry raised her hand .. "It's difficult to say for sure what can be dark items as wizards now a days have the ability to put dark magic into just about any item. It is imperative to be aware of this becaue Dark Magic is more than simply curses, however. Magic which involves tampering with the free will of another person. This is why it is so important to learn about the Dark Arts and the defences we can take against it.

Amelia smiled at the Gryffindor who knew of horcruxes, because this means she wasnt the only one that had read about them. "Yes Professor, I recall reading a book about horcruxes. Something about them being a part of your soul, that is split off when you kill someone. Of course, why would anyone want to split their sould because isn't a person stronger when their soul is whole?"

Kennedy gave her opinion, "I agree with my fellow classmates that any object could be dark if used the wrong way. Even a potion, like polyjuice potion can be used for dark means."

"Cursed objects are equal to dark objects," July said, hand raised. "Even a simple, cuddly teddy could become a dark object once cursed. The dark arts can turn almost anything into a dark object," she went on. "Gubraithian fire is sometimes used as a deadly weapon. And I guess one could consider Licorice Snaps dark, when in the hands of the wrong people," she added as an afterthought, grinning slightly to herself.

She wrote down the same list, under her title
DARK OBJECTS

she felt the list was an important part of the day's studys.

Cassandra took notes on her parchment of all the Dark objects they said, careful to not misspell anything.

Aurora was starting to get hungry. she reached into her bag and pulled out a tin of choclate chip- pumpkin cookies her Mum had sent over with her house elf.
"Anyone want one?" she asked her fellow students. Even though they had been in her bag for a few hours, they were still as warm and gooey as if they just came out of the oven.

Cassandra raised her hand, "Wouldn't Felix Felicis Potion be one if it got intot he hands of a Dark Wizard? Doesn't that potion bring luck? So if it got into the wrong hands, that witch or wizard could barely be stopped." Cassandra hoped it was right, or somewhat correct.

suzy was very hungry, "ooo can i have one?" she whispered waiting for the teachers reply.

"Sure! Help yourself!! " right after Suzy took one, another one magically appeared in it place. "Take two if you like. It looks like it is an endless batch. Mum like to make sure we all get treats. Professor, Would you like one or two?"

"Yes, I've heard many good examples, but let's clarify. A wand is a wand, regardless of the intention of the caster. It is still intrinsically a neutral magical object. But there are SOME magical objects that are not neutral in their magic. They can only be used for Dark purposes, and they are not dependent on a wizard to work. Does anyone know what I mean when I say they are not dependent on a wizard?"

suzy grabbed one. they were so very delicious. " thank you sooo much!"

The cookies smelt delicious, but Rissa shock her head and declined. She wasn't that hungry, and she wasn't too sure if eating in class was allowed. She smiled at her fellow student, silently thanking them for offering in her head.

suzy raised her hand, "it means that the dark object can do bad things by itself it doesnt need a dark wizard to say a spell or incantation, or whatever to make it work, it works on its own."

"so these are objects that no matter who uses them, they still are dark objects. Even if they got in to the hands of a person that isn't a dark wizard, the dark powers of the object are still present?" Nat questioned out loud to make sure that she understood.

"Professor, " Aurora spoke up," Woulndt that be an object that is evil to begin with.. no matter whom uses it. Like the opal Necklace " Aurora quoted out of a book
