Neva gets up from her chair reluctantly and wimpers whilst picking up her hairy caterpillar. She sets off at a run back to her seat to shorten the time she has to hold the creature. Neva removes her wand from her belt and says in a clear voice "Animaic Inanimus". She looks dumbfounded as the thing turned into what looked to be a lump of coal. "Inanimus Finite" she sighed, turning the Caterpillar back to it's own form. Neva leans into the creature and stares at it hard. "Right Mr hairy. I don't like you and you don't like me. But if you coopereate we can get this done alot quicker. You don't want to be squished under a size five kitten heel boot do you?" Neva smiled sadistically. Neva shakes her arms as if to work up some energy. She points her wand at the creature and says sternly "Animaic Inanimus". She laughed as the still shaking Caterpillar turned into a pencil. "Woohoo" Sge claps and begins to do her happy dance. Straightening herself up she looked around to make sure nobody saw that and sat down in her seat. "Inanimus Finite" she grinned. |
Mich followed Jacques and got up and got herself . She returned to the table and took out her wand. She muttered the spell Inanimus Finite a few times, pointing at the catterpillar each time, trying to change it. After a few attemps Mich finaly got her catterpillar to change into a pencil, she smiled at her effort glad to have made it happen. she muttered the spell again and the pencil turned back into a catterpillar |

Picking up her wand, she flicked it and said the spell, "Animaic Inanimus," The caterpillar shuddered and became thiner, more stick like, and then a pencil like, almost. She laughed happily and reversed it. Once more Erinelle tired again, this time, she managed to get it right. She squealed delightedly and laughed, clapping her hands. "I did it!" She squealed. |
Carefully taking her caterpillar, Kemma laid it gently on her desk. She paused. Theory was one thing. Actually having to transform it was something else. It look so helpless, just waiting there on her desk. Kemma licked her lips apprehensively. Just do it, just do it! Don't think about it. You'll be changing it back. It won't feel a thing, right? Right? Pulling out her wand, Kemma flicked in the caterpillar's general direction and uttered "Animaic Inanimus." Nothing happened. She tried again. Nothing. Maybe she needed to get the wand closer. She flicked her wand closer and closer, saying the spell louder and louder. This was getting frustrating. Then... She didn't mean to flick so hard. Her wand came down upon the poor caterpillar's body with a resounding squash. Gooey innards squirted from both sides and the invertabrate's lack of vertebra was clearly demarcated by a large impression in the center of its person. Kemma was horrified and immediately burst into tears. |
Dez went back to her desk and sat down. She moved her notes onto the floor next to her bag and tryed the spell "Animaic Inanimus" she said waving her wand, nothing " Animaic Inanimus" it worked she now had a pencil spe picked it up "cool" she murmered then set it back down "Inanimus Finite" the pencil changed back "sweet" she murmered |
Walking up to the desk, Kat took a catipillar back to where she was sitting and began working on the spell. Taking out her wand, she said the spell,"Animaic Inanimus" To her surprise it worked the very first time as the catepillar instantly became a simple pencil. Now for the hard part she thought. Picking up her wand again she said, "Inanimus Finite" and the catepillar returned to it's original state. |
Neva, bored, decides to be a little bit of a smart *** and adjust the colour of her pencil. " Technicular Introverta" she says and turns the pencil lumionous green with pink spots. " Technicular Introverta" , yellow with brown spots. " Technicular Introverta" purple with black stripes. " Technicular Introverta" rainbow coloured. She decides that enough is enough and reverts the creature to its original form and creats a little fence so it doesn't wander off. |
Jen didn't like the idea of having to touch the caterpillars but some things just had to be done. She walked up to the front of the room and picked one up, its squirming almost making her drop it several times as she made her way back to her seat. Dropping the poor creature on her desk, she pulled her wand out of her pocket and repeated the spell to herself twice. When she was ready to try it on the caterpillar, she pointed her wand at it and said in a soft but clear voice, "Animaic Inanimus." Much to her surprise, there was now a very still, very hairless pencil on her desk. With a small nod of satisfaction, she tried the counterspell. "Inanimus Finite," and there was once again a caterpillar on her desk."Well now that's nifty," she muttered glancing around the room. |

Serena was amused. Already Professor Pride had managed to make an impression and a good one at that. As Serena had predicted, she was having no trouble keeping reign over her class. Rising from her seat, she walked over, waiting for a break in the group before scooping up a caterpillar. She wrinkled her nose slightly, not really caring for any types of insects, vertebrates or invertebrates. Upon sitting, Serena removed her wand, repeating the words a few times in her head. Once she had accomplished the correct nonverbal reciting of the spell, she pointed her wand at the caterpillar and intoned. “Animaic Inanimus.” She watched as the caterpillar began to transform, but the process stopped soon, leaving a yellow pencil with a eraser end wiggling. Suppressing a giggle, Serena chanted “Inanimus Finite” and the caterpillar returned to its original form. Trying to clear her mind of all thoughts, Serena waved her wand once more, repeating the spell. This time it worked. With a smile of relief, she changed the pencil back to a caterpillar. However, her delight was interrupted by the sound of someone bursting into tears. Looking over, she spotted a Ravenclaw who had apparently flicked her wand just a bit too hard. She glanced up at Professor Pride, wondering just what she would do. |
Tag collected his caterpillar from the front desk, eyeing Professor Pride warily. She looked a bit shady. . he doubted she'd come about these caterpillars legally. He sat back down next to Kemma, then watched, horrified, as she hacked the poor thing in two, sending guts flying every which way. Tag looked around wildly. What was this, some sort of insect torture chamber, hidden under the guise of education? Very quietly and carefully, Tag slipped his caterpillar into his pocket. There had to be some way to save them. . . |
Mason went and got his Caterpillar. He sat down and tried the spell. "Animaic Inanimus". The Caterpillar wiggled strangely and turned yellow. He tried again "Animaic Inanimus". The Caterpillar grew longer. He tried again "Animaic Inanimus" The Caterpillar grew a Sharp point on his nose. He was discouraged. He decided to try one more time. "Animaic Inanimus" the Caterpillar made a "pop" sound and became a pencil. He looked at it shocked. He couldn't believe he did it. He looked at it closer and saw that it squirmed slightly. He didn't care. At least he had made a pencil. now how to change it back. |

She was extremely happy with herself. At least the practiced she had pay off. |

Getting to her feet she walked back to her desk and picked up the caterpillar she had been playing with earlier. She placed him on her shoulder and once again began to walk around the classroom. Spotting Tag slip his caterpillar into his pocket she leaned in behind him and whispered, "you can keep him if you manage the spell. If not... he can always join Snork here." she said grinning and pointing to the little green guy on her shoulder. |
Chikie repeated the spell a few more times then sat quietly waiting for the class to continue. Just as she finished she heard someone start to cry. It was one of her fellow Ravenclaws and she had apparently squished her caterpiller. True it was sad but it was nothing to get that upset about chikie thought to herself wondering what the new professor would do. |
Connor felt a little silly, he'd never even known he was a wizard until last year, and now he was being taught spells. The caterpillar he had gotten seemed fairly angry when the wand was pointed at him. "Animaic Inanimus" he said closing his eyes. When Connor open them, to his amazement a pencil was sitting on his desk. He'd done it... on the first try |

Having mangaged to transform her caterpiller several times back and forth, Sylvia looked about the room, wondering if anyone needed help. Satisfied that everyone seemed to be doing alright, with the exception of Kemma who was recieving help at the moment, she picked up her text book and turned to a more interesting chapter, underlining and taking notes with her caterpencil... |
Chloe sat down after collecting her caterpillar from the teacher's desk. She placed it onto her desk and picked up her wand. She pointed her wand properly and said with perfect pronunciation, "Animaic Inanimus." The caterpillar changed to a pencil almost instantly. Chloe grinned and picked up the pencil, making sure it didn't squirm or anything, but it was perfectly still like a real pencil. She sighed and was thankful she hadn't caused the caterpillar's guts to squirt everywhere like the girl near her. She would have felt terrible. "Is this what you're looking for?" she asked the professor, holding the pencil up for her to see before changing it back to normal. |
Neva looked about the room and noticed Sylvia writing notes with her newly acquired pencil. She scribbles a note onto a piece of parchment :- Quote:

Mason had managed to change the Caterpillar into a pencil and back with only the side affect of it still being bright yellow. He had no idea how to fix this so he waited for instructions. |

Looking at another girl from her hou..erm.. Slytherin house she nodded and said, "Yep thats it! Now see if you can turn it back." |
Si went and got his Caterpillar. He sat down looking over his notes tried the spell "Animaic Inanimus" and the Caterpillar became a pencil, then trying the turn the caterpillar back "Inanimus Finite", smiling Si looked around the class at the others |
After getting her approval from the professor, Chloe pointed her wand at the pencil and said, again with perfect pronunciation, "Inanimus Finite." She smiled as the pencil changed from a stiff piece of wood to a wriggling little caterpillar. 'Thank goodness I didn't screw up already,' she thought with relief. |

Catching Tag's eye, Kemma flushed and tears pooled in her eyes. She blinked them back. Somehow Tag being right there made is all so much worse. Taking a big step back from her desk, Kemma practiced the spell with her wand out of caterpillar range. This time she used a lot less flick. Miraculously this seemed to work quite a bit better. With a suprising pop, the caterpillar was there one minute and a the next he was a pencil. Kemma gasped with consternation. It was almost as bad as killing him. This encouraged her to work twice as hard at turning him back into a caterpillar. He will survive. He will turn back into himself. He will, will, will! And to her great relief, he did. |
