"Oh hi!" Dez said continuing to get her things out of her bag

Sebastian sidled into the class, late as usual. He looked at the new teacher, smiled a wry grin and took his seat at one of the desks on the far right.

He was interested to see how this teacher would perform. He always loved being in the new classes.

Julia's heart practically melted as Jacques entered the classroom. Whew, I'm sure glad he didn't see me fall. I'm sure he would've liked it though... she thought, shaking her head and giggling at her thoughts.

As he sat down next to her, she couldn't help but beam widely. So she wouldn't get in trouble, she simply whispered very quietly, "Salut, Jacques." She had learned greetings in French just to impress him. Hopefully it would work.

Neva takes her brush from her bag and begins to run it through her hair absent mindedly whilst wondering what the lesson has in store. "I hope that Caterpillar has no ominous clue to what we are doing today. My motto is Anything with more than four legs is an enemy." She says whilst eying the caterpillar with a very suspicious look on her face.

Danni got to her feet, "Alright crew, I guess we can start now. As some of you know I'm Professor Pride, I'm new to this teaching thing but I am no stranger to authority." she said eyeing the class sternly. "Most of the time you will find me easy going and not to strict, but I warn you, do not push my limits. You will regret it. I expect your respect and in return I will give you mine. Any questions?"

Without waiting for an answer she pressed on, "Anywho, today we will be learning to turn animals, namely catapillars, into objects, namely muggle pencils. Who can tell me another spell we know of that turns an animal into an object?"

Tas smiled as she saw how friendly the new Professor was. She had always likes Transfiguration and especially the teachers who were almost always former Slytherin students.

She raised her hand trying hard to remember the spell. "Fera Verto?"

mandibear30 11-19-2006 09:32 PM

Mandi enterd the room and took a seat in the back. She looked around and saw the new teacher and wondered how this year would go. She had already promised herself she would try harder this year. "I can't do any worse than last year." she mumbled to herself. She took out her parchment and quill and waited for the class to start.

Zoe knew the answer. So, she raised her hand and said, "Feroverta, Professor."

lisa_on_a_bagel 11-19-2006 09:38 PM

"Feroverta is to change animals into water goblets..." She answered hoping she could help out gryffindor in the points.

Kemma hesitantly raised her hand, "Professor Pride, I know there's something called a switching spell, where you can swap one thing for another. So you could swap an animal for an object." She paused and squirmed in her seat, "But I'm not sure if that's what you mean. Maybe you only want something that's actually changed into something else?"

"Correct! The 'Animals to water goblets' spell." Danni replied grinning, "Three points to Slytherin!"

"When do you think a spell like this would be useful? Reasonable and creative answers are accepted."

"Very good answer Kemma, but I was looking for something that changed to something else. Good answer none the less."

"When you're thirsty and don't care much for sanitation" Neva chuckled.

Erinelle thought for a moment before raising her hand and answering "When an two animals are thristy and you can only give one a drink?" Erinelles voice got higher towards the end as if to ask a question.

lisa_on_a_bagel 11-19-2006 09:43 PM

Lisa Smiled As She Imagined a Situation" If You Trapt in the Woods And Needed a Drink But nothing to drink out of. Its good because it doesnt harm the animal" She Said Raising her hand After Coping down the previous spell.

william.cook1990 11-19-2006 09:43 PM

Sebastian raised his hand. "Perhaps when it is necessary to get a drink of water at a stream or the whatnot and there are some birds nearby? I mean, you could always transfigure them back later.

lullaby_mom 11-19-2006 09:43 PM

Dez raised her hand"If your in the wild with nothing but your wand and there's a streem & a animal near by" Dez said realizing it was a creative answer

chickensoup08 11-19-2006 09:43 PM

Chikie raised her hand. "Spells like that are always useful when pulling pranks on siblings" chikie said. This had happened to a lot when she lived with her mother.

Tas smiled as she earned new points for her House and raised her hand again. "I'd say when you want to hide the certain animal from someone for a certain period of time, because the magic wears off and you can't keep the animal in the goblet form forever, but for a period of time you can, just to hide it from someone."

Seeker_Seven 11-19-2006 09:45 PM

Tag raised his hand. "When you've got a whole load of caterpillars, but what you really need is a goblet. Although. . . I don't know why you'd pick a cup over an insect. Caterpillars are way more interesting." Of course, Tag also thought the caterpillar might object to being turned into a drinking utensil.

Listening to all the information being presented by both the professor and her fellow students, Kat began writting down detailed notes.

pgspickles 11-19-2006 09:53 PM

Paulien raised her hand "When you are on some sorta camping trip and you need somethign to hold your fresh water in"She said knowing this was a creative answer but might not be the one the proffesor was looking for.

Sister Of The Moon 11-19-2006 09:54 PM

Having just purchased a quick quotes quill, Neva listened intently to her professor and peers whilst her quill took down her notes.
