Transfiguration - Lesson One

You enter the classroom to see Professor Pride sitting Indian style on her desk playing with what appeared to be a caterpillar. She nods to you kindly as the small bug crawled over her hands, and indicates with her head that you should take a seat.

Thump0427 11-19-2006 08:56 PM

Thump walked into class taking a seat somewhere in the middle. He took a glance at the new teacher..Hmmm,dont know how im gonna be with this one...she seems new.And a catapillar O_o wonder what were doing "Hello Professor" he said out loud since he was the only one in class, while he tapped the table with the tip of his wand, small sparks coming out each hit

worldin 11-19-2006 08:56 PM

Randver walked into the transfiguation classroom and took a seat
''hello professor Pride im Randver Scoil one of the new students you'll be having this term i just wanted to tell you that i love transfiguration
and you and i will be seeing alot of each other so i look forward to start''
he scooted over and waited for the rest of the class

pgspickles 11-19-2006 08:58 PM

Pauline walked into class and took a seat "Hello proffesor" she said as she got seated.

Sister Of The Moon 11-19-2006 08:58 PM

Neva gives Professor Pride a bemused look and says "Nice Caterpillar". She makes her way to the back of the room. She sits at the farthest desk next to the window and begins to remove her quill, Ink and textbook from her bag. She places them neatly on her desk and awaits the arrival of her fellow pupils.

Sweet.Nightmare 11-19-2006 09:00 PM

Miley walked into the transfiguation classroom. She looked for the teacher but only saw a catipillar, then realizing that this was transfiguation, then bug was probably the professor. Cool! she thought to herself, taking a seat.

Loki 11-19-2006 09:01 PM

Marie walked inside the classroom. She noticed the new teacher she saluted her politely with her head. She was very anxious to started her lesson. She wasn't the best at transfiguration, but she wasn't terrible either. She saw that two ravenclaw students & two slytherin students was already here. She spoted a place at the back & went straight at it. She then waited for the lessons to begin.

TeeNa 11-19-2006 09:02 PM

Tas walked into the Transfiguration classroom looking around and noticing a new Professor. She smiled hoping that this class would be very interesting and sat down waiting for the lesson to begin.

chickensoup08 11-19-2006 09:03 PM

Chikie walked into the class, she smiled at the professor and then took a seat next to Thump. She gave him a polite smile to say hello and got out the necessary supplies for the class. She couldn't wait to earn Ravenclaw even more points.

Egyptian_Blue 11-19-2006 09:03 PM

Alanna entered the Transfiguration classroom determined to do better this year.

"Hello, professor," Alanna said, ignoring the caterpillar. It was probably just for the lesson. She sat near the back, where she could see but could manage not to attract much attention, hopefully. Soon she was all ready, with, books, paper, ink, quill, and wand neatly set out.

LovelyLunaLovegood 11-19-2006 09:04 PM

Brianna walked into tthe classroom and headed for a seat right near Chikie and her friend. She sat down and put her bag right next to her and said "Hey Chikie". She then turned her attention to the teacher because she was eager to see how Professor Pride taught and she really missed the lessons at Hogwarts.

Nightingale 11-19-2006 09:05 PM

Kay walked quickly into the Transfiguration class room and sat down at an empty desk. She pulled her hair up into a tight knot and prepared for the Transfiguration lesson.

feeheeheeny 11-19-2006 09:06 PM

Julia did a James Bond roll into the Transfiguration classroom and looked around as she came to her feet. She glanced at the professor and strutted over to her seat.

As she sat down, she dropped her school bag underneath of her desk and leaned back in her chair boredly, keeping one hand on the desk to keep from tipping over. "Hello Professor... uh... Pride," she greeted, remembering the name from the feast. This was when she lost her control of her chair and it fell over backwards. Funny, this same thing happened last term in another class. Except last term the fall hurt much worse.

Now looking straight up at the ceiling, Julia mumbled some things and rolled onto her knees. She stood her chair up on it's legs again, glanced around casually at the other students, then hopped to her feet. Quickly adjusting her Bugs Bunny Cape, she giggled. "Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all term," she announced with a smirk, bowing to everyone as she took a seat again. That's one way to start out a class...

Once she was situated, Julia took her materials for class out of her school bag. She gave the professor and innocent smile and began to hum softly to herself, wondering when she should go interrogate Lainey.

Looking across Thump returned the smile to Chikie "Hello miss" and he stopped the tapping of his wand, resigning to slightly gnawing on the tip of the wand wondering what this class would be like.

Holmesian Feline 11-19-2006 09:08 PM

Kat walked into the Transfiguration classroom excitedly, since it was the class she was most interested in. Smiling to the professor as she entered, she took a seat near the front of the room waiting for Erinelle to come and class to begin.

starlightangel 11-19-2006 09:09 PM

Erinelle walked into the classroom and sat down next to Kat and beamed excitedlty at her. Slipping her bag off her shoulder she took out her book, parchement, quill and ink and settled herself in a desk. She smiled absently, excited for her second lesson.

In her careful script, Erinelle wrote her name and the subject on a fresh sheet of parchement. She smoothed her black plaited hair behind her shoulders and waited for the lesson to start.

Thump0427 11-19-2006 09:12 PM

Julia....always so extra thought Thump letting out a small laugh and giving a small clap to her bow before waving hello and returning his gaze back to the teacher.

Raider 11-19-2006 09:12 PM

Danni nodded to all the students who said hello, not daring to take her eyes off of her caterpillar. "Nice to meet you too." she replied to the gryffindor kindly, still not looking up.

She jumped a bit as a crash reverberated through the class room. Her eyes fell onto a Ravenclaw girl now laying on her back on the floor, she grinned as she placed her catapillar on her desk and thought to herself, 'I'm going to like this one' After the girl had gotten to her feet and taken her bow Danni applauded a bit before giggling and winking at the girl. "I'll start class in a few more minutes, just waiting for those last minute people. Nice landing Miss..?"

Em's the Game 11-19-2006 09:17 PM

Kemma entered the class uncertainly. She'd been looking forward to the class ever since she'd read about it, and was anxious to do well. This seemed like real magic to her - somehow more magical than anything else.

Walking past the professor, Kemma gave a shy smile and a murmured, "Hello Professor." Quickly taking a seat, she pulled out quill, parchment and looked expectantly at the Professor.

lisa_on_a_bagel 11-19-2006 09:18 PM

Lisa walked in and Smiled to the the professor and Attempted to help the girl off the floor before taking her seat and removing a single peice of parchment and her quil.

lullaby_mom 11-19-2006 09:19 PM

Dez sliped into the room and took a seat near the front pulling out her things.

Julia couldn't help but grin at the professor. She didn't even get mad! There's a first. I'm going to like this one, she thought. Man, these new professors seemed really great so far. Julia could tell she would be getting away with a lot. "Agoobwah. Julia Agoobwah," she replied. "And thank you."

Taking Back Kirstie 11-19-2006 09:20 PM

Jacques entered the Transfiguration classroom. He didn't even notice that they had a new professor as he spotted Julia sitting not too far away. He strode over to where she was and slid into the seat next to her, giving the ravenclaw a smile and a wink.

michalice 11-19-2006 09:22 PM

Mich walked in and sat by Lisa, glad to see a familiar face. She got her quill and parchment and got ready for the lesson

Noticing a familiar face, Neva picks up her things and runs to the front of the class. She doesn't notice a chair placed at an odd angle. She trips over it and does a little dance while trying to steady herself. "Very graceful" she mutters before taking a seat next to Dez. "Hi! Nice to see a friendly face" She smiled, still somewhat embarrassed after her spontaneous audition for Stomp.

lullaby_mom 11-19-2006 09:25 PM

"Oh hi!" Dez said continuing to get her things out of her bag

william.cook1990 11-19-2006 09:25 PM

Sebastian sidled into the class, late as usual. He looked at the new teacher, smiled a wry grin and took his seat at one of the desks on the far right.

He was interested to see how this teacher would perform. He always loved being in the new classes.

feeheeheeny 11-19-2006 09:26 PM

Julia's heart practically melted as Jacques entered the classroom. Whew, I'm sure glad he didn't see me fall. I'm sure he would've liked it though... she thought, shaking her head and giggling at her thoughts.

As he sat down next to her, she couldn't help but beam widely. So she wouldn't get in trouble, she simply whispered very quietly, "Salut, Jacques." She had learned greetings in French just to impress him. Hopefully it would work.

Neva takes her brush from her bag and begins to run it through her hair absent mindedly whilst wondering what the lesson has in store. "I hope that Caterpillar has no ominous clue to what we are doing today. My motto is Anything with more than four legs is an enemy." She says whilst eying the caterpillar with a very suspicious look on her face.

Raider 11-19-2006 09:29 PM

Danni got to her feet, "Alright crew, I guess we can start now. As some of you know I'm Professor Pride, I'm new to this teaching thing but I am no stranger to authority." she said eyeing the class sternly. "Most of the time you will find me easy going and not to strict, but I warn you, do not push my limits. You will regret it. I expect your respect and in return I will give you mine. Any questions?"

Without waiting for an answer she pressed on, "Anywho, today we will be learning to turn animals, namely catapillars, into objects, namely muggle pencils. Who can tell me another spell we know of that turns an animal into an object?"

TeeNa 11-19-2006 09:30 PM

Tas smiled as she saw how friendly the new Professor was. She had always likes Transfiguration and especially the teachers who were almost always former Slytherin students.

She raised her hand trying hard to remember the spell. "Fera Verto?"

mandibear30 11-19-2006 09:32 PM

Mandi enterd the room and took a seat in the back. She looked around and saw the new teacher and wondered how this year would go. She had already promised herself she would try harder this year. "I can't do any worse than last year." she mumbled to herself. She took out her parchment and quill and waited for the class to start.

lisa_on_a_bagel 11-19-2006 09:38 PM

"Feroverta is to change animals into water goblets..." She answered hoping she could help out gryffindor in the points.

Em's the Game 11-19-2006 09:40 PM

Kemma hesitantly raised her hand, "Professor Pride, I know there's something called a switching spell, where you can swap one thing for another. So you could swap an animal for an object." She paused and squirmed in her seat, "But I'm not sure if that's what you mean. Maybe you only want something that's actually changed into something else?"

"When do you think a spell like this would be useful? Reasonable and creative answers are accepted."

Erinelle thought for a moment before raising her hand and answering "When an two animals are thristy and you can only give one a drink?" Erinelles voice got higher towards the end as if to ask a question.

Tas smiled as she earned new points for her House and raised her hand again. "I'd say when you want to hide the certain animal from someone for a certain period of time, because the magic wears off and you can't keep the animal in the goblet form forever, but for a period of time you can, just to hide it from someone."

Tag raised his hand. "When you've got a whole load of caterpillars, but what you really need is a goblet. Although. . . I don't know why you'd pick a cup over an insect. Caterpillars are way more interesting." Of course, Tag also thought the caterpillar might object to being turned into a drinking utensil.

Kemma rolled her eyes at Tag's response. Only Tag could turn a transfiguration lesson into something about loving insects.

"Well, I don't think whether or not you like catepillars is really the point," Kemma said wrinkling her nose at Tag with disapproval. Kemma turned to Professor Pride. "I mean, isn't the point of transfiguration to make use of whatever you have available?"

Lua was excited for the first class of term, being high on sugar she rocketed of her seat and raised her hand then answered "When your in the woods and only surrounded by animals. Lua thought for a bit before raising her hand a gain "I would say a beetle and transfigure it into a button. The smaller the animal the better the spell can be preformed. In contrary, the bigger the animal the more strength and magic you need to be able to transfigure it completely".

chickensoup08 11-19-2006 10:02 PM

Chikie raised her hand "Smaller animals that are less like to run while you are casting the spell, such as a snail which would make a lovely pin cushion. If the animal is very large it will take quite a bit of magic to fully transfigure, and a fast animal could easily escape before you have even begun. An elephant would be an example of a large animal and a cheetha(sp) would be an example of a very fast animal. While it is possible, it would be very difficult for us students to transfigure. Although larger animals are better to transfigure into large objects. An elphant would make an excellent sailboat for example and a cheetha would make a great racecar." chikie said with as slight smile, one point wasn't much but it was something

Mason raised his hand and said " I think a snake would be good to turn into a long object like a pencil or a wooden or mettle pole of some kind for defensive purposes. The snake is already long and can be held completely strait and it also doesn't have complicating protrusions like arms and legs".

Em's the Game 11-19-2006 10:06 PM

Kemma sat, thinking hard about Professor Pride's question. Since she didn't know how things transfigured, she was having a hard time imaging what would be easier.

"What about turning a bird into a hat?" Kemma thought of her mother's garden parties with all the ladies dressed in their Sunday best. "Since lots of hats already have feathers, you'd only be partially transforming the bird. And they're about the same size."

Loki 11-19-2006 10:12 PM

Marie would have like to answered but everyone was so fast that she decided to wrote down all the answer that everyone gave. She thought maybe later, if she's fast enought she would gave one.

Holmesian Feline 11-19-2006 10:15 PM

"YES!" Danni said loudly, "Exactly the answer I was looking for. Invertebre's are easier to transfigure because there is no backbone to change. 3 points."

An elephant would be an example of a large animal and a cheetha(sp) would be an example of a very fast animal. While it is possible, it would be very difficult for us students to transfigure. Although larger animals are better to transfigure into large objects. An elphant would make an excellent sailboat for example." chikie said with as slight smile, one point wasn't much but it was something

Going back to the front of the class she added, "I chose caterpillars because they are invertebre, small and similar in shape to the object we want. Now everyone come up and take a caterpillar. Jacques walked to the front of the classroom. Selecting two of the biggest caterpillars from the box the professor had provided, he walked back to his seat. He stopped alongside Julia's seat and placed a caterpillar on her desk.

"I got you a caterpillar" Jacques said, stating the obvious. He smiled and sat back down in his chair, putting his own caterpillar out in front of him.

Seeker_Seven 11-19-2006 10:23 PM

Still horrified at Professor Pride's comment about caterpillars providing nutrients, Tag swallowed and attempted to respond. "Er, Professor--" Sadistic! "Invertebrate animals, such as insects, would be easier to transfigure because they are less complicated. Animals with backbones, like mammals, are usually harder to manipulate with spells." Tag doodled on his parchment, scrawling out the words, 'Insects are friends, not food' in large loopy letters.

Lisa Walked to front practically dancing. She won them 3 points. She picked a caterpillar and returned to her seat. She Pulled put her wand and moved her notes aside, she would be pretty upset if the spell went astray and ruined her notes. She then muttered "Inanimus Finite" and waved her wand over the small caterpillar. It made an awkward movement at first but nothing changed. She tried 2 more times and she thought it looked longer and more yellow. By her 4th attempt though Lisa had a brand new muggle pencil sitting on the table in front of her. She looked up and smiled at the professor.

Dez got up and went to get a caterpiller out of the pile "thanks" she said to Proffessor Pride on her way back

Randver came up and took a catarpillar and took it back to his desk and said the spell''Animaic Inanimus it did't work in the first try but it did in the second then he said the spell''Inanimus Finite''the cattarpillar tunrned back
and Randver repeted this a few times

chickensoup08 11-19-2006 10:25 PM

Chikie walked up and grabed herself a caterpiller then headed back to her seat. Chikie placed her caterpiller on the desk. She pulled out her lovely wand and said "Animaic Inanimus". She watched as her caterpiller transformed into a ordinay muggle pencil. She picked it up and examined it to make sure it was a complete transfiguration and it was. She then put it back on the table and transformed it back into it's caterpiller form. "Inanimus Finite"

Tas walked up to where all the caterpillars were and took one. Returning to her seat she held the creature on her palm and pointed at it with her wand. Animaic Inanimus, she muttered trying to imagine how the pencil would look, but the spell, as usual, didn't work at the first attempt and the hairy pencil on her palm was wiggling. She frowned and muttered the spell again - this time there was a full effect and a nice pencil was now lying still on her hand.

Maya Ellwood 11-19-2006 10:27 PM

Maya sighed and shrunk into her seat. Jeeze. She walked up and took a caterpillar. She let it creep over her shoulders and put it back down on the table. She poked it with her wand and murmered ' Animaic Inanimus. ' and quite strangely enough, the caterpillar changed into a green pencil. She poked it, hoping that it wouldn't squirm.

Sister Of The Moon 11-19-2006 10:27 PM

Neva gets up from her chair reluctantly and wimpers whilst picking up her hairy caterpillar. She sets off at a run back to her seat to shorten the time she has to hold the creature. Neva removes her wand from her belt and says in a clear voice "Animaic Inanimus". She looks dumbfounded as the thing turned into what looked to be a lump of coal. "Inanimus Finite" she sighed, turning the Caterpillar back to it's own form.

Neva leans into the creature and stares at it hard. "Right Mr hairy. I don't like you and you don't like me. But if you coopereate we can get this done alot quicker. You don't want to be squished under a size five kitten heel boot do you?" Neva smiled sadistically.

Neva shakes her arms as if to work up some energy. She points her wand at the creature and says sternly "Animaic Inanimus". She laughed as the still shaking Caterpillar turned into a pencil. "Woohoo" Sge claps and begins to do her happy dance. Straightening herself up she looked around to make sure nobody saw that and sat down in her seat. "Inanimus Finite" she grinned.

michalice 11-19-2006 10:28 PM

Mich followed Jacques and got up and got herself . She returned to the table and took out her wand. She muttered the spell Inanimus Finite a few times, pointing at the catterpillar each time, trying to change it.
After a few attemps Mich finaly got her catterpillar to change into a pencil, she smiled at her effort glad to have made it happen.
she muttered the spell again and the pencil turned back into a catterpillar

Erinelle wandered up to the desk and took a catapillar, she let it crawl across her hands a couple of times and laughed delightedly as it tickled her hands. Wandering back to the desk she put it on the table. Then sat down again.

Picking up her wand, she flicked it and said the spell, "Animaic Inanimus," The caterpillar shuddered and became thiner, more stick like, and then a pencil like, almost. She laughed happily and reversed it.

Once more Erinelle tired again, this time, she managed to get it right. She squealed delightedly and laughed, clapping her hands. "I did it!" She squealed.

Carefully taking her caterpillar, Kemma laid it gently on her desk. She paused. Theory was one thing. Actually having to transform it was something else. It look so helpless, just waiting there on her desk. Kemma licked her lips apprehensively. Just do it, just do it! Don't think about it. You'll be changing it back. It won't feel a thing, right? Right?

Pulling out her wand, Kemma flicked in the caterpillar's general direction and uttered "Animaic Inanimus." Nothing happened. She tried again. Nothing. Maybe she needed to get the wand closer. She flicked her wand closer and closer, saying the spell louder and louder. This was getting frustrating. Then...

She didn't mean to flick so hard. Her wand came down upon the poor caterpillar's body with a resounding squash. Gooey innards squirted from both sides and the invertabrate's lack of vertebra was clearly demarcated by a large impression in the center of its person. Kemma was horrified and immediately burst into tears.

Dez went back to her desk and sat down. She moved her notes onto the floor next to her bag and tryed the spell "Animaic Inanimus" she said waving her wand, nothing " Animaic Inanimus" it worked she now had a pencil spe picked it up "cool" she murmered then set it back down "Inanimus Finite" the pencil changed back "sweet" she murmered

Walking up to the desk, Kat took a catipillar back to where she was sitting and began working on the spell. Taking out her wand, she said the spell,"Animaic Inanimus" To her surprise it worked the very first time as the catepillar instantly became a simple pencil. Now for the hard part she thought.

Picking up her wand again she said, "Inanimus Finite" and the catepillar returned to it's original state.

Sister Of The Moon 11-19-2006 10:32 PM

Neva, bored, decides to be a little bit of a smart *** and adjust the colour of her pencil. " Technicular Introverta" she says and turns the pencil lumionous green with pink spots. " Technicular Introverta" , yellow with brown spots. " Technicular Introverta" purple with black stripes. " Technicular Introverta" rainbow coloured.

She decides that enough is enough and reverts the creature to its original form and creats a little fence so it doesn't wander off.

Jen didn't like the idea of having to touch the caterpillars but some things just had to be done. She walked up to the front of the room and picked one up, its squirming almost making her drop it several times as she made her way back to her seat. Dropping the poor creature on her desk, she pulled her wand out of her pocket and repeated the spell to herself twice.

When she was ready to try it on the caterpillar, she pointed her wand at it and said in a soft but clear voice, "Animaic Inanimus." Much to her surprise, there was now a very still, very hairless pencil on her desk. With a small nod of satisfaction, she tried the counterspell. "Inanimus Finite," and there was once again a caterpillar on her desk."Well now that's nifty," she muttered glancing around the room.

Serena was amused. Already Professor Pride had managed to make an impression and a good one at that. As Serena had predicted, she was having no trouble keeping reign over her class. Rising from her seat, she walked over, waiting for a break in the group before scooping up a caterpillar. She wrinkled her nose slightly, not really caring for any types of insects, vertebrates or invertebrates.

Upon sitting, Serena removed her wand, repeating the words a few times in her head. Once she had accomplished the correct nonverbal reciting of the spell, she pointed her wand at the caterpillar and intoned. “Animaic Inanimus.” She watched as the caterpillar began to transform, but the process stopped soon, leaving a yellow pencil with a eraser end wiggling. Suppressing a giggle, Serena chanted “Inanimus Finite” and the caterpillar returned to its original form.

Trying to clear her mind of all thoughts, Serena waved her wand once more, repeating the spell. This time it worked. With a smile of relief, she changed the pencil back to a caterpillar. However, her delight was interrupted by the sound of someone bursting into tears. Looking over, she spotted a Ravenclaw who had apparently flicked her wand just a bit too hard. She glanced up at Professor Pride, wondering just what she would do.

Seeker_Seven 11-19-2006 10:37 PM

Tag collected his caterpillar from the front desk, eyeing Professor Pride warily. She looked a bit shady. . he doubted she'd come about these caterpillars legally.

He sat back down next to Kemma, then watched, horrified, as she hacked the poor thing in two, sending guts flying every which way. Tag looked around wildly. What was this, some sort of insect torture chamber, hidden under the guise of education? Very quietly and carefully, Tag slipped his caterpillar into his pocket. There had to be some way to save them. . .

Mason went and got his Caterpillar. He sat down and tried the spell. "Animaic Inanimus". The Caterpillar wiggled strangely and turned yellow. He tried again "Animaic Inanimus". The Caterpillar grew longer. He tried again "Animaic Inanimus" The Caterpillar grew a Sharp point on his nose. He was discouraged. He decided to try one more time. "Animaic Inanimus" the Caterpillar made a "pop" sound and became a pencil. He looked at it shocked. He couldn't believe he did it. He looked at it closer and saw that it squirmed slightly. He didn't care. At least he had made a pencil. now how to change it back.

Marie walked at the teacher's desk & took a caterpillar. Then walked at her places. She try to concentrate a little, then tooked her wand & waved at it. She prononced the spell "Animaic Inanimus". First nothing happens. She didn't knew what she was doing wrong. She tooked a deep breath. Perhaps it was the way she was moving her wand. She try again & said "Animaic Inanimus", she said the spell with a more convinced voice. This time the spell seems to worked. The little caterpillar transformed into a cute muggles pen. She was very happy with herself. She had a huge smile. She decided to turned back the caterpillar. She flicked her wand above the pencil who was the little invertebre before & said "Inanimus Finite" & the caterpillar return to his true form.

She was extremely happy with herself. At least the practiced she had pay off.

Danni ran over as a small Ravenclaw girl burst into tears. "Its all right dear. Scorgify! I know you didnt mean it. Here try this one." as she spoke Danni handed her another caterpillar and while she wasnt looking put a charm on it so that the small bug was 'unsquishable'.

Getting to her feet she walked back to her desk and picked up the caterpillar she had been playing with earlier. She placed him on her shoulder and once again began to walk around the classroom. Spotting Tag slip his caterpillar into his pocket she leaned in behind him and whispered, "you can keep him if you manage the spell. If not... he can always join Snork here." she said grinning and pointing to the little green guy on her shoulder.

chickensoup08 11-19-2006 10:41 PM

Chikie repeated the spell a few more times then sat quietly waiting for the class to continue. Just as she finished she heard someone start to cry. It was one of her fellow Ravenclaws and she had apparently squished her caterpiller. True it was sad but it was nothing to get that upset about chikie thought to herself wondering what the new professor would do.

ConnorHawk 11-19-2006 10:42 PM

Connor felt a little silly, he'd never even known he was a wizard until last year, and now he was being taught spells.

The caterpillar he had gotten seemed fairly angry when the wand was pointed at him. "Animaic Inanimus" he said closing his eyes. When Connor open them, to his amazement a pencil was sitting on his desk. He'd done it... on the first try

Having mangaged to transform her caterpiller several times back and forth, Sylvia looked about the room, wondering if anyone needed help. Satisfied that everyone seemed to be doing alright, with the exception of Kemma who was recieving help at the moment, she picked up her text book and turned to a more interesting chapter, underlining and taking notes with her caterpencil...

Chloe sat down after collecting her caterpillar from the teacher's desk. She placed it onto her desk and picked up her wand. She pointed her wand properly and said with perfect pronunciation, "Animaic Inanimus."
The caterpillar changed to a pencil almost instantly. Chloe grinned and picked up the pencil, making sure it didn't squirm or anything, but it was perfectly still like a real pencil. She sighed and was thankful she hadn't caused the caterpillar's guts to squirt everywhere like the girl near her. She would have felt terrible.
"Is this what you're looking for?" she asked the professor, holding the pencil up for her to see before changing it back to normal.

Sister Of The Moon 11-19-2006 10:48 PM

Neva looked about the room and noticed Sylvia writing notes with her newly acquired pencil. She scribbles a note onto a piece of parchment :-

Quote:

Hiya hun! Are you enjoying Transfiguration so far? I'm having a wonderful time. The teacher is simply wonderful. Did you see her help that poor 'Pillar killer? Bless her little cotton socks lol
She floats the parchment to Sylvia with her wand and taps her on the shoulder with it.

Kemma hiccuped a few times, trying to stop the flow of tears with big breathes. Wiping her eyes, she looked around and saw some of the other students staring. Taking the new caterpillar from Professor Pride, she felt immensely comforted. At least the professor hadn't yelled or called her a murderer or anything. She'd been positively nice, and Kemma had never needed that kindness more.

Catching Tag's eye, Kemma flushed and tears pooled in her eyes. She blinked them back. Somehow Tag being right there made is all so much worse.

Taking a big step back from her desk, Kemma practiced the spell with her wand out of caterpillar range. This time she used a lot less flick. Miraculously this seemed to work quite a bit better. With a suprising pop, the caterpillar was there one minute and a the next he was a pencil. Kemma gasped with consternation. It was almost as bad as killing him. This encouraged her to work twice as hard at turning him back into a caterpillar. He will survive. He will turn back into himself. He will, will, will!

And to her great relief, he did.
