"I have to agree with you on all three counts," Kat replied, "especially on the cuteness of the animals." Kat had finished the pen she had been working on and stood back to admire her work. Smiling in satisfaction, she moved onto the next stall.

Erinelle did the same as Kat, she leant back on her broom, admiring their work. This stall was clean, aired out, and all that needed to be done now was fresh hay to be put in, along with the food and water of course.

She wiped her forehead with the back of her hand and smiled happily, Kat began to go on to the next stall and she didn't mind, she could still talk to her. "Yes," She smiled, "The animals are what we're doing it for too, but i love the warm happy feeling!" She squealed like a little girl, "Oh that Hippogriffs adorable!"

She pointed over to a pen outside where a Hippogriff was happily preening itself.

Glancing up at to where she was pointing, Kat, too noticed the Hippogriff and had to agree with her, it was adorable. "That's a class that I can't wait for it to start- Care of Magical Creatures."

Lisa Walked Down, Bracing herself against the cold.She loved animals of all kinds, especailly her tabby cat, Molly, Whos was cuurently resting in her bed back in the dorm.She walked over to the closest pen and peeked in on the poor creature which she was sure was resting inside.Her Eyes searched for a minute and sure enough she rested them on a small owl nestled in the corner.She then reached into her pocket and removed one of the owl trets she kept handy for her famiys owl, Mitz."her you are poor baby, whats wrong with you?" She asked gently As the owl flew up to the edge and answered her question as it limped feebly towards the treat laying in the palm of her hand.when it took the treat, Lisa gently smooth her hand over the back of the barn owl." Any better?" she asked as it swallowed and hooted slightly.She giggled at the respnse and said her goodbyes and promised to eb back another time and set off back to the school.

Erinelle began to re-stock the stall with hay, giving the pen a good coverage with the straw. She smiled as she did so and listened to Kat as she spoke.
"Yes, Professor Dainsie is the teacher for Care of Magical Creatures, i've been looking forward to that lesson as well, i've taken a huge liking to the out doors recently" She said, continuing to fill the stall with hay.

Kat smiled, grabbed a pitchfork and began to take some hay from the pile that Erinelle was using and laying it down in the pen that she was working on.

Pauline decided to let Scoops eat and go check to make sure everything was going good with the stalls. She looked and saw most of them clean, and was very pleased how the stables were coming along.

She decided that she would go get Scoops taked up. She got his tack and got him saddled and bridled. She took him out to the fields and started to trot him a bit in circles then start to canter him in the same circles, knowing he would be tired after this workout. She cantered him and didn't know if anyone was watching, but she had put out a jump before and decided she wanted to jump it. She cantered Scoops toward it and she gave him the cue when they got close and he jumped it. "Good boy," She said patting him on his neck at a canter and turned him around.

"Great work guys! 10 points for both Slytherin and Gryffindor!"

"Yep that's right, the food and cleaning supplies are all in the store room. And yep, all the animals that stay here are kept in cages most of the time, that's why we need people to come down and spend time with them. I am planning on building a day pen for the crups and kneazles sometime soon though."

"There sure is! This whole place needs a big clean up, I think we're starting on the Hippogriff pens next."

Right, so we're gunna start cleaning the Hippogriff pens next. You guys can NOT approach them, so please stay back until I have them secured. Then I'll need atleast 3 people to help me fix up the pens."

This in one sense was what Erinelle really loved doing, being outside, helping others, and with her best friend to top it off. Making up the stalls again was a lot of unexpected fun as Kat and Erinelle began to re-fill the hay on the floor.

"I wonder when the Care of Magical Creatures Class is?" She asked, suddenly realising she didn't know.

I'll definatley help you!" Erinelle said to Professor Dainsie, she remembered the stunning Hippogriff from earlier and thought of making the incredible animal comfortable made her smile.

"I'll help with the hippogriff pens as well, " Kat replied glancing at Erinelle.

"Okay. I'll be glad to help with the Hippogriff pens," Zoe said, with a smile on her face, not approaching the Hippogriffs.

Professor Dainsie entered the pen and safely haltered the 3 hippogriff, leading them out and tying them temporarily to the fence of an empty pen. Walking back to the assembled students she smiled. "Right! Let's get to work. We need to clean the pen, fill the water and food and check the fences, let's get to it!"

Hello Professor Dainsie, my name is Kitty and this is my first year. I have filled the water and cleaned up the pen. I am heading toward the caged animals to give them some TLC. I just love animals and will help out any time you need me.

Maya decided to adopt an animal or something. She walked out to the field with a muffler. She walked up to the Professor in the place. " Excuse me.. I came to adopt a animal of some sort.. I'm a new student, So I don't know your name, I'm sorry. " she smiled shyly, looking around. The place was booming with students, and she had noticed already that the Slytherins had gotten several points.

A smile lit up Tia’s face as she saw the Professor come in, leading three hippogriffs. When she said their pen needed to be cleaned, Tia readied herself to work. She decided to slip on her dragon-hide gloves, just in case, though she was sure there would be no real need for that.

Hastily tying her hair into an even tighter knot than they were already in, she stepped over to where the pen was, and began to clean it. She scrubbed the walls, just for an extra nice finishing touch, after she was done with scouring the place with the help of her wand, making sure that there was not a speck of dirt or dust inside the now-clean pen.

Then she began to fill the food and water, which the hippogriffs would need soon, doing so very cautiously, careful not to spill any of the food anywhere. She made sure the fences were securely in place, and none of them rusty, broken, or damaged in any way.

That done, she stepped back, her gloves still on, pleased with her work. “Done, Professor,” she said politely, finding the place more fun than she had expected it to be; she had not frequented the Magical Creatures Hospital last year, due to an extremely busy schedule, and was very glad that she was able to spend more time here this term.

Finishing up with the animal pens that she had been working on with Erinelle, Kat moved on to the Hippogriff pens after Professor Dainsie led the animals out.

She began by cleaning the pens she had been assigned, leaving not a speck of grime to be seen. Kat, then filled the bowls with plenty of food and water.

After that was done, she made sure to check the fences and made sure that nothing was wrong with them. Satisfied with her work, Kat approaced the professor and said, " I'm done with my section, Professor."

Pauline rode Scoops a few more circles to cool him down and then walked him back over to the stable, where she saw students and Proffesor cleaning out the hippogriffs. She got off Scoops cleaned him off and untacked him, put the tack up and let him graze, She went over "Need anymore help or should I do something else?" She asked the Proffesor.

Lua was whistling a tune as she arrived the magical creature hospital, she was ready. Yes, mighty ready to help the animals this term, maybe she can get her cat back? or even better: Adopt more adorable animals. Hair in a tight poiny tail and wearing both a black shirt and trouser with knee high bright red boots, lua was prepared for any sliding, gliding, jumping or flying came her way. Except for that dragon that was around here somewhere.

Shiftily skimming the grounds and barns around her, she spotted professor Dainsie not far away with three hippogriffs and a few students assisting in barn cleaning.

Continuing her tune she walked over to the group, but kept her gaze on the hippogriffs. Mighty creatures they were, fascinating and even more arrogant. She immediately stopped her tune once she neared them to make sure not to offend them in any way.

"Ill give the hippogriffs a bath since they look off color" lua informed whoever was nearest and bowed to the nearest hippogriff. It took the hippogriff a while before he bowed back. Trying not smirk, she closed up to the hippogriff and stroked his neck. Once they both became acquainted, lua pointed her wand towards it and casted the Aguamenti charm for water to erupt from her wand.

After vigorous scrubbing and soap application on the animal's body, lua began washing his tail then combing it. Once done, she walked over to the front and began brushing his teath. Even animals need to brush their teeth once and a while, right?. Once done, lua beamed at the animal, then began dancing and singing "Can you dance the hipogriff? Ma ma ma, ma ma ma, ma ma ma".

Kemma had come to stand by the rest of the students in time to hear the instructions for helping with the hippogriffs. Picking up a smaller spade, she began shovelling soiled hay and assorted muck out of the pen. It was long, dirty work and Kemma had a fine layer of grit covering her head to toe by the time she was done. Being rather partial to neatness, Kemma ran and grabbed a sturdy broom and gave the pen a thorough brushing for good measure.

Wiping her sweaty forehead on her sleeve, Kemma joined a few other students hauling fresh water for each of the hippogriffs. She'd have thought maybe they should give the water trough a good scrubbing, but as no one seemed to deem it necessary, Kemma just dumped her bucket and went back for more. Being small as she was, the water buckets were cumbersome and she managed to spill a fair share on herself and therefore had to make twice as many trips as the other students to complete her job.

Waving to a few friends she saw had joined the group, Kemma returned to work. Next came hauling an assortment of small dead birds and ferrets for the hippogriffs' food. Kemma wrinkled her nose from the smell and tried to avert her face. Eventually she gave up and tied her scarf around her face. This helped. Some.

Now there was only work on the fences to be done. The afternoon was waning to and Kemma's thoughts turned toward dinner. And a bath. Just let me finish this and then I'll treat myself to a long read. Kemma was tenacious, if not a little obsessive about finishing what she'd started. Taking a hammer and some nails, Kemma went along the section of wooden fence and inexpertly hammered back on pieces of broken wood. She couldn't see how a little fence was going to hold in a creature with wings, but she'd given up trying to figure everything out her first week at Hogwarts. Kemma ended up following behind some of the bigger students, tacking in the little pieces they missed.

At last Kemma dragged her weary body back to the cottage and returned her supplies. Her hands were blistered and she couldn't remember the last time she felt so tired. Or dirty. But there was a sense of satisfaction as she returned to report her work.

"Whew! I'm done, Ma'am! Sorry I spilled so much water on myself. But we did get all the water troughs filled! I hope the hippogriffs will like what we've done."

Mason saw everyone helping clean the hippogriff pins so he grabbed some cleaning supplies and joined in. When they had finished Mason asked "professor what shall we do next".

Tia spotted Lua entering the Magical Creatures Hospital, and straightened up, quickly walking over to where Lua was, busy grooming the Hippogriffs. She smiled at what Lua was doing – brushing the hippogriffs’ teeth. It was rather funny.

“Hello, having fun?” she said pleasantly, pulling off her gloves and pocketing them. She bowed to the nearest Hippogriff, somehow managing not to break eye contact.

For a few moments, no response came. Then the Hippogriff bowed back – at least, something of that sort.

Slightly relieved, Tia wondered what to do. Maybe she could help Lua with grooming the creatures – But Lua already seemed to have taken good care of that. So, she merely looked on.

“This is fun, isn’t it?” she asked brightly.

With her hair up in a tight bun, Jordana entered the magical creature hospital and looked around at all the animals in their cages. She didn't see anyone so she decided to venture farther into the hospital.

After walking a few feet, she saw Professor Dainsie and a group of students ready to do what looked like cleaning. She watched in amazement as the Professor lead three beautiful hippogriff's out of their pen and tied them up to the fence of one of the empty pens.

Noticing a familiar face, Jordana saw Kemma and gave her a friendly wave. She sure had been seeing a lot of her lately, which was a good thing seeing how they got along so well.

Looking over at Professor Dainsie Jordana nodded at her instructions and began to make her way over to the pens, but not before grabbing a nearby shovel and a empty wheelbarrow. Placing the shovel into the wheelbarrow, Jordana began pushing the barrow over to the pen.

Entering the pen, Jordana gently put down the barrow. Retrieving the shovel she began to pick up the droppings and other small pieces of garbage that had managed to make their way into the pen. When the shovel was full she would carefully lift it and move in the direction of the barrow, where she would deposit the presents that had been left behind by the gorgeous hippogriffs. After a few minutes she completed shoveling the droppings.

Carefully wheeling the barrow out of the pen she set it to one side where it would not be in anyone's way. She was tempted to perform the Evanesco spell on the droppings, but stopped herself because she felt perhaps the droppings would be useful in some other form. Jordana decided that she would ask the Professor after the other tasks were completed.

Walking back to the pen Jordana looked inside the water trough and noticed a few pieces of hay. Taking out her wand from her pocket she fished them out and when she had collected them all she walked over to the wheelbarrow that contained the droppings and deposited them in there as well, all the while managing to not touch the droppings with her wand.

Placing her wand back in her pocket, Jordana went to collect a large bucket of water. She carried the bucket back to the Pen and began filling up the trough. After five more trips of water collecting the trough was completely filled and clean.

Now it was time for the grossest part of the job. Collecting the Hippogriffs food. Jordana loved animals so even seeing a dead ferret bothered her, but for the hippogriffs she would do anything. She made her way over to were the feed was and began to gather it up in her arms. She grabbed a few ferret's, rats, and with her free hand a handful of insects. Jordana wasn't sure but to her the insects in a hippogriffs diet were like vegetables. Everyone even Hippogriffs have to eat their veggies.

Walking over to the pen with the food in her arms, Jordana was about to set down the food but noticed that there was excess hay in the bin. Setting the ferret's, rats and birds down on the floor, she quickly brushed the hay away and proceeded to dump in the insects that she held in her hand. After doing so she carefully one by one began to put in the dead ferret's, rats, and birds.

Standing up and trying to not vomit from the smell of the dead animals, she quickly turned and made her way out of the pen. Once reaching the outside she turned towards the pen once more, and began to examine the fence for any loose wire or nails that might injure the animals.

After checking the entire parameter of the pen Jordana stood up and began to make her way over to the Professor. Upon reaching her she kindly asked, "Professor would you like me to discard of the Hippogriff droppings in the wheelbarrow that I have over there or will you be using them for some other purpose?" she gave Professor Dainsie a smile as she waited for her response.

Kaida walked in and looked around, quite unsure of what she was looking for. "Um, I heard that some are up for adoption?"

"Wow, excellent work everyone! Another 5 points for Gryffindor and Ravenclaw! Now, I need three volunteers to lead the Hippogriff back into the pen and get the halters off them. I'll be standing here the whole time watching, mind you be nice and polite now!"

She smiled at the girls shyness, seeing a part of herself in the young ravenclaw. "That's ok!" She smiled brighter, "My name is Professor Dainsie, but you can call me just Dainsie for short if you'd like. We have lots of animals up for adoption, mostly owls, crups and kneazles, but we do have a few rarer pets as well. Take a look around for something you like."

"Ah, you picked the good job I see", she chuckled. "There's a big compost heap around the back of the building where that will go. Eventually it will end up in the greenhouses."
