"Also, can anyone guess what you could do to protect yourself from the smell?" Sini was unsure as to what the effects of the spray might be, but she was willing to attempt an answer. Raising her hand timidly she said, "Professor, could the spray make a person dizzy, the smell alone of some plants can either make someone feel sick with dizziness or make someone‘s vision start to go blurry. I would venture a guess that these plants could be similar to an onion with the fumes it releases, instantly altering the persons senses. In order to protect yourself from the spray the use of gloves and goggles should keep you well protected as would the use of a smock to cover your clothes. Also, a well ventilated area should be used for anything of this potency."

Emily was reminded of the fiasco of her first Herbology lesson. She had spilled poison on herself and had to go to the hospital wing.
Emily raised her hand to take a stab at an answer. "Professor, it seems like the sprayed areas would either become inflamed, red, or itchy. I suppose this could be prevented by either covering the skin, having good ventilation like exhaust fans, or not standing downwind." She added this last suggestion as a bit of an afterthought, because it seemed so obvious. She continued, saying "Also, it would be a good idea to have an antidote ready in case you are affected."

"Also, can anyone guess what you could do to protect yourself from the smell?" Caitlin had no idea the proper way was to protect yourself, or what effect would happen, but she figured she might as well try to answer both. She raised her hand once more and said, "Well, maybe they'll turn your skin a different color ... that, or they'll probably smell really bad. Whatever it is, I think smelling the flower won't have a good effect ... with that said, I think the best way you can protect yourself is to tie a piece of cloth over your mouth, or something of the sort."

AThena tried to remember everything that she had learned about plants. She decided to take a stab at it and raised her hand to answer. "Some plants, like animals have a defense mechanism so protect themselves from predetors. I would think that the liquid that is sprayed out would probably smell awful, and that the smell would linger, like skunk. Also, skin might have a reaction to it, like poison Ivy or poison oak, were the person would get hives or boils or something along those lines."

Sakura sat at her desk, quietly thinking about the possibilities. Then she raised her hand after gathering up as many ideas as she could. "Perhaps the spray is somewhat deadly, depending on the age of the plant, or it could be poisonous, possibly causing irritation on the skin, or impairment of the senses. I think the most reasonable impaired sense would be sight, since there's direct contact between a person or animal's eyes, and if it reached the nose, ear etc., it'd just make the skin irritated, like a rash."

Sam was devistated!!! She had put up her hand!! Oh well. She thought. She raised her hand and said,"Maybe the plant gives off a foul smell? Maybe you need um, to be wearing rubber to deflect it?" She winced. Rubber?
ooc: My charry did raise her hand though.

Alice began to take notes intently, and thought of the possibilities. Quietly, Alice raised her hand. "Maybe," she said quietly. "The effect of the plant is that if you breathe the spray, a virus forms in you. Or you can itch, or it can give out a stink. I think the best possible way to protect yourself is to wear some kind of mask or to find the antidote, or at least make one."

| "Um... all very interesting answers, indeed. Very well. You will work with these plants for your homework, so be prepared. That is all, class is dismissed", she explained. |
