Lainey was more than ready for her first lesson of the new year. As she normally did, Lainey propped open the door to her classroom and stood by the door. Not so normally though, Lainey had on glass slippers. With a great big grin on her face, Lainey waited on her class to arrive. | |

Trying to ignore the comments of messy students, Algamus attempted to cast a few cleansing spells on his smock as he walked.
A few more laps!?! "Headmistress will hear about using Algamus as a common thestral or horse!" he squeeked aloud. "Arrrgggg..." he couldn't be disobedient to a professor. He pulled the carriage all the harder to have this done with.

Dis turned to the girl having a hard time accepting her fun. "Just enjoy the ride! House elves are supposed to enjoy what they're told to do. That's their job. You ever hear of one named Dobby? He was an odd ball. Wanted pay and days off. That's not what house elves are for. They're made to cater to wizards and witches. Cheer up! He's not getting hurt, he's merely doing his job!"
Dis stuck her head out of the window and let the wind whip through her hair, tossing it around her head. She continued to smile. This was by far her favorite class at the moment.

Faye hopped out of the carriage as soon as it came to a halt. Her face burned with shame at what her Papa would have said. She wished she had had the courage to properly protest the goings on in the classroom. Things were different in her home country, almost every magical creature had rights to be reckoned with, house elves in particular, seem to be much better protected in Canada than they were in the UK. The whole experience made her want to cry, despite the efforts of her classmates and her professor to quell her misgivings.

Lainey shook her and laughed. "I probably should have went with a more pleasant house elf. Algumus is a moody little one. But, don't be fooled. He's more than happy to pull us around." Lainey hopped out of the carriage first and stood at the door of it, helping everyone down.
"I suppose that unless you all have questions - we can dismiss class and give homework. How about a paragraph on the so called "Fairy God Mother" of Cinderella?" Lainey nodded and made note of the assingment. "I'll be sure to put this pumpkin to good use. Everyone look for pumpkin pie at dinner!" | |

Dis smiled as she stepped out of the carriage. SHe wrote down her homework, said good bye to the professor and walked out of the classroom having had a wonderful experience. She hoped more of her History of Magic classes would be like that one.

Julia watched Algamus as he left. Poor thing. She should've asked Schmoop to come in here. Even though I'd hate for him to have to pull us all around... I'd love to see him again. When will he bring Ravenclaw our cookies?
Shaking her head at her thoughts, Julia tossed her school bag over her shoulder and headed for the door. Suddenly she stopped and looked over at Lainey suspiciously. She just remembered that she needed to go talk to her... but now was not the time for that. Later would be more appropriate for that. Julia quickly made her way over to Lainey, gave her yet another hug, and did a James Bond roll out of the room. Oh the stories she had to tell.
