Janie grinned. Finally, some actual flying. She didn't want to be considered a show-off though, and possibly loose points from her house, so she remounted her broom and leaned slightly forward. Afraid that she'd be going too fast for the Professor's taste, Janie sat up a little and eased her way around half of the pitch as instructed.

Atmor went back int the air she flew offf slowly then sat on her broom.Looking down she took off and started to fly higher untill she was at the south goal post.She started to ride to the other side taking the outer edge of the field.Her hair was flapping all aound and her face started to chill but she kept oing untill she got the the north goal post.She flew towards the class and landed smoothly.

Miley smiled to herself then took the hair elastic from her wrist and put her hair into a high pony tail. She pushed of from the ground and slowly flew. When she was about half-way done, Miley accelerated a bit then slowed down once more to land. She flew towards the ground and got of her broom, the same way she got off her horse back home.

Erinelle, still hovering nodded determindly. She beamed, able to finally push forward she moved at a good speed forward and smiled once more, delightedly. She really did love to fly. She sat up, and pulled the broom towards her, allowing her to stop. She did it again, and flew around half the pitch, stopping neatly.

As Vince followed the teacher's instructions, he hovered in the air! Though he felt like it was he was on an elevator going up. He didn't want to be a show-off, so he just sped forward, then went up, and then went down. After that, he flew half - around the pitch as the proffesor told them. He pulled the broom towards him, making it stop. He had never felt that much fun! He had wanted to do it again.

Torie did as she was told until once more she was hovering above the ground. Much more relaxed this time, she hardly flinched at all when the Professor ordered them to fly slowly around the pitch. She leaned forward gently on her broom and began to fly. At first she wobbled a lot as she got used to the way the broom quickened or slowed its pace due to her body movements. A few times, she jerked the tip up sharply as she noticed she had begun to fly too fast. In a few minutes, she decided she had gotten the hang of it. This was fun! Once she had flown halfway around the pitch, she stopped her broom and gently lowered herself to the ground. Still straddling the broom, she watched as her classmates attempted to fly.

Alexia flew up into the air. She loved every minute of it. "Man I can the breeze!'said Alexia diving down

Atmor looked beside her and smiled

Alexia landed smoothly beside Atmor 'Man that was a great flight!"said Alexia smiling. "To bad we can't have brooms, my dad brought me a firebolt, but he told me I had to keep it at home intil next year!'said Alexia sighing

Making sure there was no one near her that she could accidentally hit, Athena leaned forward and gently pushed off the ground, hovering slightly. "Now, this is something that I can do." She thought to herself, smiling slightly as she slowly leaned forward and felt the broom begin to move her forward. Gripping the handle firmly, she leaned forward further and felt the wind begin to whip her hair.

Sighing deeply and and smiling at the feeling of pure joy she got from flying, Athena reached the half way point of the quidditch pitch and with ease turned her broom around and began to head back towards the class.

As she got near where the Professor was standing, she leaned back a little slowing down her broom and landed lightly on the ground. She smiled as she shook out her wind blown hair. "I should have put my hair in a pony tail." She said to herself laughing slightly as she walked back over to stand in line again.

Megan took off again and slowly leaned forward over her broom. She began to move! She was flying! She went to the halfway point on the quidditch pitch then turned around again. She was awfully sorry to touch the ground again. She looked up at the professor for further instructions.

Ali flew slowly on her broom, trying to keep her balance on the broom. She sat up on the broom, pulled it towards her, then flew over to the half-section of the pitch. There was no way that she could show-off, since she didn't have that much flying experience.

Kerry pushed off as instructed, a bit timid - afraid the broom would take off from under her, she leaned forward and felt the broom begin to accelerate. Almost by reaction, Kerry imediately leaned back again to stop her broom. She wasn't quite ready for the speed of it.

Preparing herself for what was going to happen, Kerry gave it another try.
Leaning forward she felt the broom begin to accelerate. She put her faith in herself and the broom and felt herself rise and accelerate into the air.
Before she was ready to fly around the pitch, Kerry stayed near the professor, trying to stop and slow the broom a few times to make sure she had complete control.

After a few attempts at rising, accelerating, slowing, and stopping, Kerry felt confident enough to give flying around the pitch a try. Slowly she pushed up off the ground, leaned forward- gripping the broom tightly and concentrated on the pitch in front of her. Navigating her way around, Kerry suddenly felt herself relaxed as she enjoyed the rush of the air in her face. Before she knew it she had flown half way around the pitch.

Her face beaming with glee, Kerry began to sit up on her broom, pulling it up carefully she navigated it slowly down and planted her feet firmly on the ground, proud of her accomplishment.

flower walked off, grumbling and muttering to herself. she mounted her broom, and kicked off the ground easily. she glided above the rest of them, making flying look easy, she flew quicker, and quicker, and then flew back towards the ground. making everyone look silly, she sweeped her hair off her face and faced the professor
"was that good? i mean, was that good for a first year? i have a funny feeling it is."

Atmor rolled her eyes great he said no show offs now he'd probably take more points from slytherin

Vindictus watched each student with a critical eye and shook his head. They all think they are the best fliers in the world, but they're not. Might as well let them have some fun for a bit before telling them the lesson is over.

"I want each of you to fly about the pitch - get a feel for the broomstick and how to accelerate and decelerate. Practice your take off and landing, too. No fancy moves on the brooms, please. When you finish, please place your school broom back inside the broomshed."

Janie nodded as the Professor spoke, the mounted her broom once more. As she kicked off from the ground, she looked and found the smirking Slytherin girl named Flower, who'd dared to speak to the Professor in that tone of voice. Janie rolled her eyes. She didn't think she was the best flyer, like Flower, but she did at least already know her basics. Reviewing them was fine with her, though.

Janie practiced speeding up and slowing down, hoping one day to play on the Hufflepuff team alongside her sister, Caitlin. Finally, after going around the pitch as instructed, Janie returned to the ground, smiling and exhilarated from flying. She dismounted her broom and placed it back into its spot in the broomshed, as instructed.

Athena noticed as Professor Vindictus rolled his eyes at the antics of the Slytherin girl. She marveled at the apparent over confidence of people, "We are first years, and the bottom of the totem poll." She thought silently to herself, "I wonder why they act like that." Shaking her head, she got on tghe broom and flew around the pitch several times, enjoying the feel of the wind in her hair and the sense of freedom she got. "I should have tried out for Quiditch." She said to herself. " Oh well, maybe I will try next year." She said has she landed smoothly back on the ground and made her way the the broom shed.

Megan was really nervous about this. She kicked off the ground and accelerated. She flew for a bit at that speed then slowed down, sped up. When she got back to the place she started, she landed. When getting off the broom, she nearly fell down but recovered her balance. Embarressed, she quickly looked around to see if anyone had noticed. Thankfully no one had. She said "Great lesson, Professor! I think I'm going to like flying!" as she walked past. She then headed for the broomshed.

Miley took a deep breath and mounted her broomstick once more. She kicked of the ground and slowly flew around the pitch slowly for a while, savoring the crisp air. If she could smell one of the sents from an Amortentia potion, the air now would be one of them. But Miley quickly got tired of riding the broomstick slowly, so she accelerated. This time she hadn't bothered to put up her hair, so it blew freely in her face. That didn't annoy her like it did before. Now it felt wonderful. Like she was free of the things from her past. She could just fly! But soon, that moment was over, and Miley's feet touched the firm ground. She walked over to Professor Vindictus. "Thanks for the wonderful lesson Professor! It was one of the best ones yet!" she said. Then made her way to the broomshed.

Kerry listened to the Professor's instructions and kicked off the ground again. She did just as told and took a few laps around the pitch practicing accelerating and deccelerating and just getting used to being comfortable on a broom.
When she felt she had sufficiently completed the assignment, Kerry slowly lowered herself to the ground, dismounted her broom and said goodbye to the Professor.
Kerry then headed to the broomshed to put her broom away. She felt proud of herself as she walked away from the pitch, knowing she had overcome her fear of flying and had successfully completed the class.

Vince followed the professor's insructions. He hovered on his broom, with a nice and steady balance. He had a hard time to decelerate, but did it after practicing accelerating. He landed on the ground, happy as ever. "Goodbye professor! It was a good lesson!" Vince exclaimed. He went to the broomshed to put his broom away.

Atmor took off and flew around the pitch she let out her hair and let the wind flow through it.She closed her eyes and flew around the pitch.After a while she opened her eyes and slowed down she had passed a few people more than once so she figured she had enough and landed."G'day professor" she said nodding to him and walking off to the broom shed to replace her broom

Katrina smiled as she mounted her broom. Doing as the teacher told her, she kicked up off the ground and flew around the pitch. Katrina had no trouble accelelerating, she loved the speed brooms offered her, but found it difficult to decelerate, she enjoyed the feel of the wind flowing through her so much, the wind flipping her hair wildly behind her, but she forced herself to decelerate after a few moments. For the next few circles around the pitch, she got used to the slowness in which she forced herself to take and relaxed.
She closed her eyes, letting the broom do all the work, but opened her eyes moments later to find the pitch nearly empty. Taking a smooth landing, she walked to the broomshed and put away the school broom.
