Vindictus watched sternly as the girl left and returned, this time with a school broom. "First years are never to have their own brooms, let alone bring them to school - the Headmistress's letter stated so. But since I'm feeling generous today and you retrieved one of the school brooms, Slytherin will only lose 10 points for your error."

Atmor moaned "Oh" and hissed under her breath "Father" she sighed and shook it off.Atmor put on the best smile she had pretended nothing happened

Vindictus clapped his hands and smiled. "Okay. Welcome to your first flying lesson! Now, I need each of you to lay your broom on the ground beside you. If you are left-handed it goes to your left, and to your right if you are right-handed."

Erinelle moved her broom to the left of her, feeling incredibly sorry for the girl who had just lost her house ten points. At least she was putting a brave face on it. She waited silently for the Professors next instructions.

MJ layed her broom on her right side. She was ahppy that they weren't right away flying. She was scared. Shall I tell the teacher about my flying experience? she asked herself. IN her eyes there was fear.

Atmor had already did this so she just waited and looked around.

Megan laid the school broom on her right hand side and waited anxiously. She wasn't a big flyer...

Vince layed his broom on his right side and waited for another instruction. He still kept quiet, but had to sneeze again as the dust from the broom came to his nose again, as it came down. "Excuse me." he said.

Megan looked at Vince and said "bless you." She smiled trying to shake the nerves away.

"Bless you " Atmor said it the same time with Megan

"Bless you." she said to the boy. She looked at the Professor and waited for more instructions.

"Thank you." Vince said. He looked at the professor, and waited.

Athena stood where indicated thankful that she her mother had not allowed her to bring her broom with her, and that she had therefore had to use a school broom. She breathed a small sigh of relief. SHe placed her broom on the ground on her right side, as that was her better side.

Torie placed the worn school broom on the ground on her left side. She was eager for the real lesson to start. Her blond ponytail whipped in the breeze and her bright blue eyes looked expectantly at Professor Vindictus.

Professor Vindictus walked up and down the line, nodding. "Good . . . good . . . good. Now, place your hand over the broom and in a firm voice say 'Up!'"




OOC: This lesson is going to take several days, so have fun RPing the instructions. It's okay to mess up or have the broom not move.

Megan looked at her broom doubtfully, held her right hand over it and said "up!" It immediately flew into her hand. Megan smiled and thought 'cool.' She placed the broomstick back on the ground and tried again. "up!" Nothing happened. It must have been beginners luck. She sighed...this always happens to her. "up! up! up!" This was going to take awhile...

"Up!" Atmors broom flew up instantly she haad experience in flying so this was easy work for her she beamed and looked around

Erinelle grinned at Torie, she was a Quidditch Player after all, this bit should be easy. She held out her manicured yet gloved hand over her broom and took in a deep breath.
"Up!" She commanded, the broom jumped slightly, then fell back to the floor. Erinelle stared at it shocked.

"Up!!" Vince said, as his right hand was over the broom. The broom did go up, but it his face, making him sneeze several times. "Achoo! Achoo! Achoo! Achoo!" he sneezed. Somehow, he thought this broom was bad luck. "Excuse me!" as he sneezed one last time. He was angered, so he decided to take the dust off the broom. He did so, but the dust went everywhere. "ARGH!!" he thought angered. He put it back on the ground, relieved there was no more dust.

"UP!!!" he shouted so loud. Instead of going up, it crawled on the ground. "I didn't say crawl! I said UP!!!" he shouted again. But as he said this, the broom went up! Vince was excited. As it went up, halfway to his arm, it went back down. Rage went in him, that he felt like he wanted to crush the broom with his own bare hands, but he thought he shouldn't because it was school property. He sighed.

Torie listened attentively to the Professor's instructions. When he had finished speaking, she glanced down doubtfully at the broom lying at her side. A line of worry creased her brow. He wasn't serious, was he?

With a sigh, Torie resigned herself to the task. She placed her left hand over the broom, her fingers outstretch in preparation to catching it if it flew. In a loud clear voice, she commanded the broom to arise.

Nothing happened.

Torie tried again, focussing her mind on the task at hand. Again she commanded the broom.

This time, a faint wiggle was all that occurred.

Torie took a deep breath as waves of frustration washed over her. When she had cooled down, she made one more attempt.

"Up!" she cried in a loud voice.

The broom lifted itself lazily to her side, but she had done it. Torie beamed with her accomplishment.

Megan watched as everyone managed to get their brooms up. She got a little angry. This was going to work for her no matter how long it took! She glared at her broom, stuck her hand over and once more commanded "up!" The broom was in her hand so fast that she nearly dropped it. She did it!

Erinelle stared at her broom, maybe because it wasn't the one she used at home it wasn't going to work. She sighed and smiled suddenly, "UP! Please," she commanded strangely, and it worked, the broom snapped to her hand before wacking her in the face.
"OW!" She yelled, delighted with her accomplishment.

When Vince was calm, he concetrated on the broom, closing his eyes. Not shouting, he said "Up." The broom forced itself in his arm gently with out wiggling. "Wow, I did it with my eyes closed.." he said happily. But he felt weak, so he rested for a while.

MJ tried her hand was shaking she heqrd the boy sneeze again and said

"Bless ou."

She went back to her broom

"UP!" she said firmly The broom wen to her hand. She ot scared and dropped it

Atmor giggled "Say it with feeling like you realy want it to came to you" she went back to her broom and put it down to put up her hair in one then said once again "UP" the broom came back with much force
