Kay looked down at what she had written it was in beutiful handwriting just like her mum

Balinda thought about this question that the girl had asked. She was right, however it seemed easy to check for faults on a broom.

Balinda then continued taking notes, then wondered when the lesson would end, even though she was enjoying it.

After mentally answering with stupid answers, some obvious ones popped into Julia's mind. Shrugging, she raised her hand and said clearly, "Well, a good flyer would make it manditory to avoid flying into tall trees and buildings." She took a moment to giggle then added, "I'm sure that would hurt quite a bit. I can only imagine how messed up that broomstick would be..."

Nienna 11-19-2006 07:14 PM

Leo pondered on an answer,"Well,a good and smart flier would certainly not fly with dangerous creatures around." he said out loud hoping the professor would hear him,Leo didn't even know if his answer was good or not.

"Two points to Gryffindor for such an insightful question which will be discussed in a future lesson," Professor Vindictus smiled and noticed another hand shoot up into the air.

"That is quite observant, Miss Agoobwah. Five points to Ravenclaw," he said and moved away from the lecturn. "Are there any other answers before we move on?"

' good fliers dont play in extrem weather like sunames or hurricanes" kay said although she didnt know if it was right

Nordic Witch 11-19-2006 07:24 PM

Vanessa listened and then added to what the hufflepuff girl had said "Don't good fliers like for instance quidditch players, play matches in bad wheather like storms even though it isn't advised and against the safety regulations?"

Holmesian Feline 11-19-2006 07:24 PM

As Kat sat listening to the rest of the class answer the professor's question, she took detailed notes. Unfortunantly she could not think of her own to give. But it was only the first lesson so there was plenty of time to contribute.

"Yes," Erinelle said nervously, "How do you grip a broom properly? Just so we know what to check for when mounting it."

hphg 11-19-2006 07:30 PM

Chanel was listening tentatively, writing down everyone's question and answers. She looked down. Already half a page was filled. She too was wondering how to grip a broom correctly, just in case.

Tag raised his hand, remembering a recent fiasco in London. "Professor, we also have to be careful not to be seen by muggles," he replied, fidgeting under the desk. He couldn't wait to get on a broom. "It's a big rule. We can't mess with the muggle world, if they see us flying around on broomsticks, it would be a disaster."

becca.123 11-19-2006 07:46 PM

Wren glanced across at Tag's point and nodded her head.

"Good answer," Professor Vindictus said and nodded his head. "Flying with dangerous creatures around is certainly not safe for both the flier and the creature. Three points to Hufflepuff."

"That is correct, Mr. Sevens. Strict observation of the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy should always be observed. Five points to Ravenclaw for leading us into the second part of our lesson," Professor Vindictus smiled. "The History of Flying."

His blue eyes scanned the room and he smiled. "There is no spell that enables wizards to fly unaided in their present human form. It is true that levitation is used, but is it truly exciting to hover no more than five feet over the ground? Of course not! Our ancestors wanted more and the dream of soaring through the sky like a bird in flight drove ambitious wizards to discover ways of accomplishing that feat without growing feathers."

"Why is it then, that us wizards use broomsticks?"

haveigotnewsforu 11-19-2006 07:55 PM

Mia thought for a moment, "We use them if we can't apperate"(sp)

TeeNa 11-19-2006 07:55 PM

Tas raised her arm. "Because they're easy to transport, they're used by muggles as a cleaning device and so they are also easy to hide."

Nordic Witch 11-19-2006 07:57 PM

Vanessa sat and thought and then said "We use broomsticks as transportation and the brooms are easy to conceal from muggle eyes. Broomsticks are also the reason why we started to play a number of sports like quidditch, stichstock and quodpot."

Em's the Game 11-19-2006 07:58 PM

Kemma nodded as Tas spoke. She'd read just that very thing this morning in the handbook before class. (She'd been wondering the same thing, in fact.)

Erinelle thought very hard about this for a moment, she had read this somewhere, only, where...? She thought hard again for amoment before her hand shot up in the air.

"Wizards fly broom sticks because they are easy to hide in the presense of muggles, It would be easier to fly a broom stick than an armchair for instance because they are more aerodynamic." She said clearly, but then, Erinelle also realised this could be very wrong.

hphg 11-19-2006 08:00 PM

Chanel thought for a moment, but the answer was taken. She decided that she agreed with Tas. She prepared to write down more and listened to what the girl said. That girl is pretty smart.

haveigotnewsforu 11-19-2006 08:01 PM

Mia listened to the others anwsers. She was slightly embarrassed by her own. She smiled to her self as she thought she'd much rather fly in an armchair, you may be seen but at least its more comfy.

Em's the Game 11-19-2006 08:03 PM

"What about the cost, Professor?" Kemma added with a wave of her hand. "Brooms aren't very expensive, so almost anyone can get one and that makes it good transportation." Kemma squirmed a bit. She wasn't as sure of this answer, but it was an idea nagging at the back of her brain.

Seeker_Seven 11-19-2006 08:05 PM

Tag heckled to himself. Because they make an easy weapon at a moment's notice when you really need to smack someone. At least, his mother always thought so.

starlightangel 11-19-2006 08:05 PM

Erinelle blushed after answering and began to scribble down the answers from other peoples suggestions. Any of the facts given could be useful, and if there was homework then she would need as many notes as possible.

JulieAnn 11-19-2006 08:09 PM

Everyone was answering so fast that Athena was having to write as fast as she could to keep up with the her notes. She was hoping to be able to catch up with her notes so that she could answer some questions as well.

"Another good point," he grinned. "Two points to Ravencalw."

"Why do you think witches and wizards have kept this so-called 'secret' of magical broomsticks hidden from their Muggle neighbors before the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy came into effect?"
