| | |  Charms: Lesson #1
The classroom is divided into two sections. One is a large area in which you will practice more advanced charms and the second is two banks of bench desks that face each other. The practice area is lined with cabinets and shelves. You see cushions, books, and other objects that are used in the course of mastering Charms for the OWL and NEWT exams. The desks look as old as Hogwarts and they are. You are standing in the very first classroom of this school. It is old and there is power that lingers in this space from every student who has entered here. The wood of the desks bear many scuffs, pits, even cravings. There are hole to hold your ink wells and a slot to lay down your quill.
You stop and look down the aisle the desks form to see the new Charms Professor. His robe and cloak are deep navy. He is seated at the ancient teacher's desk, his head bent over books and parchments. He looks up and see you, then he stands. He is a very tall wizard and he turns to write on the board behind his desk. You realize he is almost ready to begin and quickly take a seat. Kelli walked into the classroom ready for the lesson. It seems as if there were already alot of students in the room, however, she found a seat near the front and took out her books. She then took out a blank piece of parchment and started to draw.

The sound of sharp clicking entered the room as Cameron Kingsly, clad in Slytherin attire and heels, walked to a seat. She chose one that was near the window, but slightly behind it so that her alabaster skin remained untouched.
Her skirt made a gentle swishing sound as she settled into the chair. Her grey eyes were bright and alert as they swiveled about the room, taking in all of the people around her. “Hello.” She said quietly as she saw Neva sitting in the seat behind her. She had sat infront of Neva and behind Erinelle.
Cameron opened her satchel and pulled forth a roll of fresh parchment, her grey and black striped quill, and an ornate little bottle of ink.
She carefully picked up a few stray strands of Elle’s hair and began twisting it within her long fingers, knowing that her companion would soon turn around.

Erinelle aimlessly ran her fingers through her quill, bored of waiting for the lesson to start. She heard someone behind her whisper 'hello' and she didn't quite recognise the voice.
Erinelle felt her hair being played with...again. What was it with people and touching her hair? She scowled, an action that mauled her face quite nicely and she turned around to see, of all people, Cammy.
She grinned warmly, and her bright blue eyes smiled brightly.
"Hey," she whispered in reply, still waiting for the lesson to start.

Tolkien looked down the narrow aisle separating the two banks of bench desks. He took one final moment to put his thoughts in order. "Class is now in session, eyes towards me and voices quiet, please," Tolkien stated as he stepped down off the raised teaching dais. He looked at students as he passed them.
"Today, we will discussing at the beginning the difference between Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration. It will be a short review." He explained.

Tasha stumbled through the door, and dropped her day planner. As she bent down to retrieve her planner, she dropped the rest of her belongings. "Yes, both charms and transfiguatation use wands and magic, but the fundamental difference is that Charms makes objects do things, where as trasfiguration changes the appearecen and compositon of an animal or object." Sini said raising her had in responce to the question asked. | |

"In Charms you enchant an object to behave in a way it isn't normal for it and in Transfiguration you're basically transforming the object completely into another," she finished, doubt heavy in her voice.

Brittany scratched the title of today's lesson on a blank piece of parchment. As soon as she finished, Britt looked up tentivly, she wanted to pay as much attention as possible.

Charms are used to manipulate an object whilst transfiguration can change it's atomic and physcal structure.

trasfiguration is a way of changing something complety to stop it affecting us but charms can be used a quick way to obstruct something or someone" rachel said after raising her hand.
