| | |  Charms: Lesson #1
The classroom is divided into two sections. One is a large area in which you will practice more advanced charms and the second is two banks of bench desks that face each other. The practice area is lined with cabinets and shelves. You see cushions, books, and other objects that are used in the course of mastering Charms for the OWL and NEWT exams. The desks look as old as Hogwarts and they are. You are standing in the very first classroom of this school. It is old and there is power that lingers in this space from every student who has entered here. The wood of the desks bear many scuffs, pits, even cravings. There are hole to hold your ink wells and a slot to lay down your quill.
You stop and look down the aisle the desks form to see the new Charms Professor. His robe and cloak are deep navy. He is seated at the ancient teacher's desk, his head bent over books and parchments. He looks up and see you, then he stands. He is a very tall wizard and he turns to write on the board behind his desk. You realize he is almost ready to begin and quickly take a seat. Dis finished practicing her lumos charm (even though she didn't need it) and walked with the rest of the class towards the practice area. She noticed Cameron staying towards the end of the group, convening around other older students and she decided to stand there was well, on the opposite side, and wait for the professor's instructions. She nodded to Cameron and straightened herself. She needed some practice for her NEWT levels anyway although it was a charm she probably already knew.

Cameron nodded back to Dis in aknowledgement, a slight twinkle in her eye signaled what would be called "smiling with your eyes". She continued to wait patiently for the professor to give them further instructions.

Brandon raised his hand so it looked like he wasn't speaking out of line. "I'm very skilled with the accio charm. Yes it does summon an object to you but conjuring spells more or less cause an object to appear out of thin air. Sorry if I sound like a know-it-all," he said rubbing his head and quickly silencing himself again.

Bucky had her wand on her hand and she glanced at the students talking around her, particularly the Gryffindors. She would have said something about the chatting but technically she was chatting as well, even if it was only with the visitor but still, chatting nonetheless so she felt out of place reprimanding others for doing something she herself was doing.
Celestina merely raised her eyebrows at the clever Gryffindor boy, obviously impressed. So, there actually is a boy with a brain.
"Bravo," she mouthed to him and nodded once, in acknowledgement before turning once more to stab Leo in the back repeatedly with her wand just because she could and he deserved it for being painfully friendly and obnoxious. | |

Kerry packed her bag up and moved with the rest of the class, still amazed at all the chatter going around her. She continued to pay attention to the professor.
When asked about conjuring spells she had to think a few minutes before raising her hand. Her classmates had given quite a few, and she wanted to be sure not to repeat those.
Kerry raised her hand. I know two more, she said. Relashio conjures heat from a wands and serpentsortia conjures a snake form a wand, Kerry spoke up, hoping her contribution was correct.

Oops. There it went. It was only a matter of time. Sighing her shook her head at the Professor and looked down at the ground. She didn't normally poke prefects but this one was Leo. There was a very big difference. Well, there was that one time with the ex-Hufflepuff prefect, Nikolai but--he really did deserve that one.
"Not usually, no, sir," she replied and shuffled her feet. "Won't happen again."
She didn't think her behaviour had been outrageous but then again poking was illegal in some countries. | |

Brandon cringed as even more points were taken away from his house. He was starting to feel like the professors has a personal vendetta against gryffindor ever since they pulled ahead. Of course some were called for, this one in particular, but some of the punishments and point deductions were just outrageous. He bit his tongue and stayed quiet, looking to the professor waiting for the class to continue.

Maddie peered over to the other side of the room where Gryffindor had lost 10 house points. "Oh well", she thought to herself. "You win some, and you lose some, but that was a pretty funny way to lose some!"
She decided to just forget about it. There would be other times, hopefully luckier that this, where Gryffindor would earn points instead.
Maddie quietly practiced "lumos" in her pocket, trying to keep the fact that her pocket was glowing away from the other students. She wished the lesson would continue on, because she was getting a bit bored. She tossed her strawberry-blond hair away from her indigo eyes and waited quietly.
