| Term 13: Aug - Oct 2006 Term Thirteen: Mysterious Occurances (Sept. 2059 - June 2060) |

| | What in Merlin's Beard . . .?! (Term 13) A bit confused about the plot? Housemates talking about a mysterious something going bump in the night? Here's where you can catch up on happenings around the Castle, Diagon Alley, and Hogsmeade -- Out of Character of course. That means that unless your student character heard this stuff from other students, your student character doesn't know about it. Oh, and a reminder to all to only post updates on the school plot here. Chat goes in the school chat thread. Have fun! _________________________________ The school term has barely ended and the events from the past term continue to unfold as the summer holiday inches to a close. Diagon Alley *The Wedding: Professors Doyle Branxton and Cassandra Rae are finally married over the summer holiday and have a public wedding reception at the Leaky Cauldron. However, their happiness is rudely interrupted by an article in the Daily Prophet that contains distressing news. There is a mixed reaction in the room to the article. *An Unexpected Encounter: Anjelica Lainey unexpectedly bumps into an old foe - Voldemortist. A lengthy conversation between the two happens, with Voldemortist (who last term was disguised as a Slytherin student named Matt) who compliments Lainey on her History of Magic lessons. Lainey emerges a bit shaken from the encounter. Hogwarts Express *Another Year Begins: Students and a few staff enjoyed a relatively uneventful trip to the school. New friends were made, old friends reunited, and new rivalries were born. Sorting Feast *Welcome to another year at Hogwarts!: Headmistress Rae welcomed everyone to a new term and introduced new members of the staff. However, she could not avoid the burning question that was in everyone's mind - is the school safe? Term 13 *A Repeat of Last Term?: Students from all houses can't seem to grasp the concept of earning and not losing points. Brawls, bickering, and hexing each other and the professors is not the way to win the House Cup! *Mysterious Notes Return: After two terms of silence, another note has been found by the ever-elusive Colonel Mustard and Miss Scarlett. The notes were left in the hallways and at the House tables in the Great Hall. *"Wear Shoes": Say it isn't so, Headmistress! Samea strikes an enticing deal with Professor Rae (sole haunting priviledges of the Third Floor corridor for the remainder of the school term) in return for doing the Headmistress's biding. The pesky poltegeist was quick to visit every professor and delivered the notice of a secret meeting in the staff lounge. Samea couldn't help but remind the professors to "wear shoes." *"When 7 ate 9" - The Meeting: Staff members debate over the fate of the Book of Mysteria. Verbal jabs are tossed back and forth between a few, and even one professor finds everyone suspicious. Too bad there is only one perfect 7 in the bunch. But all eccentricities aside, the fate of the book lies in their hands. *Cast Your Vote!: Samea has set up an impromptu polling booth on the Third Floor corridor and is yelling at the students to vote on the fate of the Book of Mysteria. When the pesky poltergeist's motives are questioned by Kay Harrison of Ravenclaw, it's answers are cryptic regarding the possible fate of Deputy Headmistress, Angelica Lainey. |

Virosha thinks, well she doesn't really know what's hit her, but she kinda thinks that Rae actually hexed her, for the part of her that does think. i think tho that she has a concussion from the getting knocked out and hit on the head. Voldemortist almost has to be behind the MO things because they just go together.

| Nabs!Ama | | The Happy Hufflepuff MO strikes in the Great Hall! (staff table) Quote: Three fifty foot poles appear behind the head table. The another set of poles appear at the opposite end of the hall. A Quidditch box materializes on the head table. Then the great doors blow open, and twelve of the school brooms fly into the room. They take up positions opposite of each other. They appear to be preparing to play a game of Quidditch. The box on the head table suddenly opens up. The golden snitch flies out of the box followed by the bludgers, bats, and the quaffle. The bats take up position next to the beaters brooms. The quaffle float to the middle of the room. A whistle appears and blows for the game to begin. The brooms start flying around the room mimicing a Quidditch game in full play. Two of the brooms fly off and start chasing the snitch. The beater brooms start hitting the bludger in all directions as the quaffle broom starts a run for the hoops behind the staff table. The Quaffle broom skirts the staff table trying to avoid a bludger that is heading in its direction. The game continues at a fevered pace. The students and staff beware... Samea had a breakdown! Quote: "Nonono!" Samea swept into the Great Hall with a swirl of stolen homework and unmatched socks, her face livid. "My castle, my students, my chaos! MINE!" She sent her swirl of wind and socks to force all teh brooms off course. They crashed into each other and the walls. Oh noes: Quote: The beater bats spring up off the floor and head for the bludgers sailing around the room They hit the bludger directly in Samea's direction. The snitch then changes direction and heads towards Samea flying around him like an angry bee. A bludger heads in Rae's direction. The Hufflepuff Prefect came to the rescue: Quote: Nik was trying to get out of the hall safely when he saw the Headmistress standing directly in harm's way. Being the silly Hufflepuff he was, he ran and tackled her to the ground, "PROFESSOR! WATCH OUT!" Rae and Nik are currently sitting under the staff table, trying to coax some secrets out of a very upset Samea. *** Andi Mao-Macdougal Zizhen and Count Andrei Vannacutt met in the Three Broomsticks and Andrei proposed to her. Will she accept or reject him coldly? EDIT : Looks like it's a "Yes"! AMMZ said yes and they're going to go get married in front of the MoM right now. Poor, poor, Nikolai. He's going to be begging Rae and Doyle to adopt him.

There was another wind as the Quidditch equipment began flying at both the Headmistress and the annoying Hufflepuff prefect. "You never could handle friendly competition, Samea. "Other weird things? My dear child, if Sammy-Wammy had been doing her job properly, none of this would seem weird to you."
Turning the wind to the Headmistress, Iocus added a snear to his voice once more, "She's yours? Aww, how precious. Why not take her home and let a real poltergiest do what needs doing around Hogwarts?"
In a loud, booming voice, he finished, "Samea, you are unworthy to remain here at Hogwarts. You were entrusted in pranking these students by Master Peeves, and you have been derelict in your duties. You should be ashamed of yourself. You even sunk as low as to perform mediocre tasks for the human who calls herself Headmistress." Quote:

What happened to make MO do what was posted in the last post came from The Head Groundskeeper's Office thread, Miranda Cauldwell. Quote:
Miranda walks up to the door to her office. She takes the sign off the door and puts it in her pocket. Taking out her wand, she performs the alohomora charm, opens the door and goes in. Miranda finds her office in a mess. Her books have been thrown everywhere. The papers from her desk are now lining the ceiling, and her prized wand collection is all over the floor. Miranda points her wand infront of her and looks around. She expects to see Voldemortist hiding in the shadows, but she can't find anyone.
Quote:

Miranda looks up and sees Iocus floating above her. She points her wand at him. "Iocus. long time no see. The last time I say you, you were throwing water balloons at students in the great hall my second year. Seems you left without saying good-bye. I guess you had a pressing engagement." Miranda points her wand at Iocus hand and uses a summoning charm. The letter flies into her hands. "Hasn't anyone told you it's not nice to read other people's mail." The door then blows open, and a student is standing in the doorway. "I'd really like to stay and chat with you, but I have other things to do. I think it's time you go." Miranda tries to perform a banishing charm on the poltergeist, but nothing happens.
Quote:

Quote: Miranda watches in horror as Iocus snaps her wand in two. She looks around the room for anything she can use against him. Miranda then sees Remus Lupin's wand laying near the bookcase. She walks over to the case and picks it up while Iocus is looking at the student standing in the doorway. "There was someone at Hogwarts while I was a student who you feared. I believe he was the run the banished you back then. You never liked Professor Lupin did you?You never bothered him." Miranda points Lupin's wand at the pesty poltergeist. "I may not be half the wizard he was, but I'm hoping his wand will make up for my inadequacies, Extraditis!!!" A purple light emits from the wand and engulfs Iocus. The wind blows the student into the room and then carries the pesty poltergeist out. Miranda walks over to the student. "Are you alright?"

Pranks and odd things have occurred all over the school, but we've managed to not only survive the odd events but to come out the other side a little smarter.
"For those who do not know, the events in the school were created by a poltergeist named Iocus. Apparently, Iocus was intent on making Hogwarts his home and had decided to drive our dearly annoying poltergeist Samea from these walls. Due to the hard-work of Samea herself, several students, and several professors, Iocus was driven from our walls, and we hope we will not see him again.
"I know there has been much speculation on all of our parts about the Book of Mysteria. The staff have decided together that the Book can no longer reside within our walls, and we've made motions to destroy it." She stared at the table for a moment before sharing the shameful truth with everyone for the first time. "Sadly, the Book has been bespelled to protect itself against such destruction, and it had hidden itself. The Book is gone, and I couldn't tell you if it is hidden in the castle, in the United Kingdom, or even in this dimension. It is simply gone.
"We must take this as good news... the Book is no longer here, and Voldmortist has no more use for us. We are safe, and next term will be one of prosperity and promise. So let's focus on the positive. The Ravenclaws won the House Cup and the Quidditch Championships with resounding victories," she gestured at the blue and bronze decor. "We all need to work very hard next term to earn points and try to beat the reigning champions. Now, the train will be here soon, but for now... we feast!" She clapped her hands and food appeared on the tables.
