ooc: I apologize if I missed any posts when I split. It was getting hard to keep track of the wedding reception, party, thing with all the oblivious people posting in the Leaky Cauldron. Note: sudents ARE allowed to post in here and we encourage them to do so. Just remember that this is a party to celebrate the marriage for Headmistress Cassandra Rae to Potions Master Doyle Branxton.

Doyle was still in a bit of shock that he'd actually fallen in love with a woman who had also fallen in love with him and had actually gotten married. He was delighted beyond his wildest dreams but, part of him still couldn't believe it. He turned his head and smiled at his... wife. Good Merlin, he had a wife. A wife ten years his junior, no less. But, age didn't matter and ten years wasn't so very much time at this juncture of life. His wife... He sighed contentedly and patted her hand where it rested on his arm before opening the door to the Leaky Cauldron. They'd had a small, intimate wedding, followed by a quick honeymoon. Now, they were going to celebrate with friends and colleagues in an informal party at the popular wizarding pub. "Are you ready, dear?" he asked, squeezing her hand as he held the door open with his heel.

“My pleasure Headmistress, Mr. Braxton.” Salem said to them both, still with his usual warm smile playing across his lips. “Might I add it was truly a wonderful wedding.”

He ran his hand through his hair again as some of the rouge stands felt it necessary to rebel against his previous attempts at making them stay put. “Alright then, if you want it the hard way…” He thought to himself before conjuring a small hair tie and fastening his hair into a main at the base of his neck. “Suppose I need a trim.” Said Salem to no one in particular, “Never thought this amount of hair would be such a hassle.” He chuckled.

Andrew entered the Leaky Cauldron from the London street. He was dressed more like a muggle than a wizard or a Scotsman. He had just came from the main library of the city and did not have time to change into his kilt and Prince Charlie jacket. His suit and cloak would have to do today. He crossed the room to join the well wishers.

"Congratulations, both of you," Andrew stated as he finally found the newlyweds.

"Thank you... all of you," Rae smiled and gestured for them to sit. She watched Lainey to see how she reacted to Andrew's presence, but Lainey seemed oddly intent on the doors and windows. "Anj, this is a party... put the wand away. What's wrong with you?" she tugged Lainey's arm gently and smiled at her best friend.

The Leaky Cauldron's fireplace glowed bright green, and then a woman in a royal blue cloak appears in the embers. She climbs out and tries to dust off her cloak. She finally gives up, removing it, and leviating the cloak to the coat rack. Miranda then scans the room and finds the wedding party sitting at a large table in the corner. She flicks her wand and a rectangular package flies out of her cloak and into her hands. Miranda then walks over the the table. "Congratulations, you two. You'll left so fast after the ceremony. I didn't have a chance to give this to you." Miranda takes a seat between Professor Lainey and McAiken. They both seem uncomfortable in the others presense. "A glass of bordeaux please. Good evening, Professor Lainey, Professor McAiken. You missed a beautiful ceremony, Professor McAiken. The area around the lake was the perfect place for a wedding. It was nice to celebrate a happy occasion on the grounds. They have been the scene of many unpleasant events in the past, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. I believe the muggles would have called it Queen's Weather. Most unusual not to have rain in Scotland this time of the year. On the other hand London is raining cats and dogs."

Linnea glanced at Cass with a 'what' look of curiosity before turning back to the table before them.

She turned to the man with Hair problems, "You've never heard women complain about their hair then, have you? Although, I suppose women could have problems with even short hair."

Hazelle looked up at the appearance of Professor McAiken, whom she also recognized, then again at the appearance of a rather chatty witch. Did she even breathe between sentences? "The wedding was on the grounds? Oh that would be very lovely." She smiled then, and glanced at Lee and his two female friends.

Erin wandered over to the Wedding Reception Tables, looking at everyone curiously. She approached the Headmistress and smiled. "Congratulations!" she said.

Lee had totally forgotten to introduce Cass and Linny to Hazelle. "Hazelle, this is Cass and Linny my two best friends. Linny and Cass, this is Hazelle, my cousins ex-girlfriend and new Astronomy Professor," Lee said smiling at the three ladies.

Cass smiled at the new professor and held out a hand. "Nice to meet you." She took a sip of the butterbeer in front of her. "Are you looking forward to the new term, Professor?" Cass asked her curiously.

Cousin's ex? Linnea thought, Looked like she'd be missing an interesting year. She nodded to the woman in question and smiled.

Hazelle laughed as she was once again called 'professor'. That would take some getting used to. She shook the girl's - Cass' - hand, "I certainly am happy to be returning to Hogwarts, and, to more directly answer your question, yes. I am looking forward to it. Are you three?"

Linnea shook her head, "My family has decided home schooling would be best after last term." She spoke matter-of-factly. But it still hurt.

Professor Virohsa ignored the wand-waiving Lainey and placed the box near Rae. She smiled softly as she found a chair nearby and began looking for some delicious treats to have. It seemed the party had started to pick up.

Doyle let Cassandra take care of the thank yous. Polite and proper as he was, he would really prefer not to have to deal with them and Cassandra knew them all better than he, anyway. He took her hand back in his and looked over at Lainey again. Doyle patted Cassandra's hand then, turned away from Lainey to see that the party was slowly attracting more people.

Lainey looked up at Rae and Branxton. "You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you," she whispered, wiping her hair back. It looked ridiculous from arriving to the party in over exuberant stealth mode via back alleys. Lainey picked up her plate of cheese and pickles. "Have one, they're fabulous." And stop questioning me and blocking the view of the door.

"Alright," Rae wasn't going to let the odd mood Lainey had been in lately ruin her reception. It was clear they weren't going to get any maid of honor speech, and since Doyle's brother couldn't make the party either... no speeches. "Let's have... cake?" She looked to Doyle, her eyes uncertain.

Lee looked over at the now talking Lainey. He wished he could just prod her with his wand, hard. She should of listened to him when he went to her office to talk to her. But no, she went in a hissy fit and threw him out of her office. Over sensitive... Cake? sounds good, Lee thought.

But wait, no speeches had been made or anything. Lee looked around for a best man of some sort, but none looked capable. Maybe McAiken? Nah!. He just had to rely on Lainey this time, hopefully she wouldnt screw it up this time and actually listen to him. "Excuse me," he said to others and lifting himself from the table.

He quickly strolled over to the guarding Lainey and whispered in her ear, "I suggest you take your eyes off the door that you seem to think is going to attack us and make a speech like the Maid of Honour should, do some good for once?" Lee then headed back to his seat and flopped his bum down upon it, giving a nice smile to everyone.

Lainey was full prepared to not acknowledge Mr. Andrez at all. However, his words suddenly struck a bell in her head. "Speech," she whispered with a slap to her forehead. She'd completely forgotten. Lainey got up and went to stand close at the head of the main table, trying very quickly to come up with something brillant to say. She paced a little to help her brain get going.

Rae smiled suddenly, although it was tempered by the fact that Anjelica was behaving very oddly. "She's going to give a speech," Rae tugged on Doyle's hand and plucked the glasses off his nose before he could get to wiping them. "You know you have a wife now. I"m in charge of wiping the glasses from here on out."

"I... But, I can't see," he muttered, a bit irritated without something to occupy his hands which sort of just fiddled with the hankerchief in front of him. But, he wasn't upset with Cassandra; it was just difficult giving up a nervous habit just like that, even though he had been working on it since she'd pointed it out to him several months ago. Doyle looked up at the blurry Lainey pacing nearby and waited for the speech, squinting slightly.

"Anj?" Rae handed Doyle his glasses back and leaned against his shoulder. "Were you going to... say something? I only ask because you... well, you... you look like you want to say something. You're pacing."

"I was. Am. I am. I'm just waiting a few moments on...," Lainey spluttered. "Ah, Merlin." Lainey took a deep breath and raised her wand above her head. A few red sparks and a soft whistle shot out of it. "Excuse me," she started. "If I could have your attention for a moment?" This was very different from the classroom, Lainey though. She could feel her palms starting to perspire.

"Well... as the Maid of Honor, I have a few words to say." Lainey laughed. It wasn't funny though. "Rae and I have been best friends for as long as I remember. I can tell you, she's not an easy horse to tame so my hats off to Professor Branxton straight away." She laughed again thinking of a memory from long ago, though to the crowd her thoughts were still not funny.

Speak from the heart, she tried to tell herself. "Look, you all know Rae. There's no one in the world that is more caring or loving. No one that has more passion and fight in them. No one that will fish you out of the lake at 3 AM with only your robes on and not ask many questions about it. Remember that one, Rae?" Lainey pointed a finger at her. She knew Rae remembered that one... good times. "But mostly, there is no one that deserves to love and be loved like Rae. You know I only wish you the best and hope this new life leads you on many new paths to happiness and adventure." Lainey raised her glass, wishing very much that she had filled it before she began her speech, and toasted to her Rae. "To Rae!" And she drank out of her empty cup.

"I'm not going to have to start calling you Branxton though, right Rae?" Lainey laughed and continued, never knowing when to stop. "Since the best man isn't here, I'll try that speech as well."

"Doyle Branxton is almost the complete opposite of Rae. He's anal and picky. He's prim and proper. And he's a habitual cleaner. But, opposites attract and he loves our Rae. So, best of luck to you, too. You take care of her - And just know that even though you're officially replacing me, I still know where you sleep." Lainey again chuckled and raised her glass. "To the happy couple!"

Lee raised his glass and drank up after Lainey had finished. It was quite a remarkable speech after only been thought up on her feet. Lee smiled at Branxton and Rae, Lainey was right. They were completely opposite. But cute in a sort of old way.

Doyle was less than impressed with the impromtu toast but, she was Cassandra's friend and so long as she was fine with it, he'd have to be, too. However, she should have stopped after the bit about Cassandra because he certainly did not appreciate her less then flattering comments regarding him. Well, he supposed it was only fitting that she not like him considering he didn't hold her in very high esteem, himself. "Thank you," he said to her, raising his own glass. "I do intend to care for her as much as I am able and she allows me."

Linnea drank after the first speech then listened to the second. For someone who didn't look prepared to be up there, Lainey was fairly accurate.

Hazelle nearly choked on her one drink after the speech on Rae....err, Branxton? Which name would she go by? Either way, she watched as Lainey not only did the Maid of Honour speech but the best man speech, and seemed to give him both compliments, and insults.....it seemed. Then turned around and threatened the man. This teaching staff would take some time to get used to. Though, it was refreshing to see students unafraid to approach and speak to professors outside of school. She smiled, she'd adjust and she looked forward to the coming year.

"You idiot," Rae wiped her eyes with the handkerchief she'd stolen from Doyle. "No one can replace you, and I'd still fish you out of the lake." She smiled in spite of the few tears and took up Doyle's hand again. "You forgot to say that Doyle is brilliant and handsome and very very kind. Oh, and completely hopelessly devoted to me."

Lua was skipping her way to the leaky cauldron when suddenly an owl swooped and dropped a letter on her head. "You" she pointed at it angrily, but the owl soon fluttered away. Frowning slightly she picked up the letter it dropped and began reading. The letter recalled sad frightfull memories of the incidents occuring at the end of last year. She pushed the door open and skimmed everyone in there. Spotting professors seated nearby she walked up to them, some of them she noticed were new others she was happy to see again. Walking up to their table she faintly smiled and said "I am sorry to interrupt your meeting, but" she paused compiling her thoughts properly "I just got this owl, and and" she paused lowering her eyes and placing the letter on the table for the professors to read "i am scared" she continued as she tried to stop a tear from running down her cheeks.
