Ariana laughed. "Hey we're not going to mention that." She said shiftyly. She raised an eyebrow as she listened to Rae's conversation with Branxton. She had heard about their marriage and was very happy for the two of them. She had enjoyed being there to watch the love start and was sorry she had missed last term. She giggled at Rae's bare feet. "Starting a new style Cass?" She asked with a grin. (ooc: teehee I feel like I'm talking to myself) Ariana turned her attention to one of the new professors she assumed. "A number 6? What exactly do you mean?" She asked curiously. |
Andrew kept to himself as the other staff began to arrive for the feast. He kept looking up and down the table to see if the groundskeeper had made her way into the hall. She would be one of the last to enter since she was responsible for meeting the train and getting the first years into the castle for their first time. Andrew had only bumped in to her at the wedding reception for a few moments. She didn't appear very rested and he was concerned for her. He was just going to slip out and hunt for when the Headmistress arrived to begin the feast so he remained in his seat. He did make a mental note to look for her afterwards. They could have a cup of tea or a pint of something either in his quarter or hers. He returned his attention to watch the end of Cassandra evicting Borr from her seat. He smiled as the scene unfolded before him. |
AJ bounced up to the staff table, just happy to be back at school again, "first of all congrats," she said to the newly weds, then turned to the others, "i'm AJ Silverstone, second year, and i'm so PYSCHED about being back!" she said bouncing, litterally, with joy. |

Doyle smiled at his wife's bare feet then, looked back up when the student began to speak again. Quote:

Andrew glanced down when he heard Rae explaining to her new hubby that she couldn't find her shoes. He chuckled when he notices how tiny her feet were and the pale pink polish. After Doyle finished speaking with a student, McAiken nudged him. "Did you paint those toenails or did she?" He asked with a comically tone to his voice. He was happy for Doyle and Cassandra. He only wished his own love life was sorted out so well. As he waited for Doyle's reply, he downed the last of his goblet, then really caring what was in the pitcher closest to him, McAiken refilled his goblet. |

Ariana turned to the man and raised an eyebrow. "Ariana Milana Numel." She told him. Now she was a little intrigued. He hadn't exactly answered her question. She gave a shrug of amusement to Professor Light. ""Are you feeling alright?" She asked her. |
Lainey shook her head at Rae. Marriage was making her goofy. At least she was happy, Rae thought. On that thought, Lainey looked down the table towards Doyle to Andrew. She had not been very good to him... However, she couldn't ponder it too long because Jacques the womanizer came by and sent her a little wink. Lainey just laughed and shook her head at him. But it was in that moment that she caught part of Branxton's conversation. How could he be so sure after last term? She found herself staring a hole into Branxton's side. He might be a little too sure. |
Matthias quickly did the sums on his abacus for number 10, "what a coincidence! You are a 6," he smiled. |
A six? Hmmm he had said something about a six being a bad thing. "Is that not a good number?" she asked taking a sip of water from her goblet. |
Matthias was confused, he could not recall saying being 6 was a bad thing... "oh, no, no," he replied, "6's are lovely, just don't run onto one after a bad 5 day. hahahahahahaha," he laughed. |
Ariana laughed with him. He didn't make much sense but she was amused. "And what is a 5 day?" She asked "And why should I look out for them?" |
Matthias blinked at her, "well, 6's are known to enjoy some gossip, but if they are having a 5 day, they are very prone to saying some unkind things. I won't tell you some of the things I've heard," he whispered confidentially. "What do you teach, professor?" he asked. |
Ariana giggle and nodded. "Ahh yes, I can see how that would not be good. I never say anything bad to anyone about anything though." She said putting on her most innocent smile and giving him a wink. "Oh I'm not a professor, I'm the healer here actually." |
Professor Virohsa merely nodded... not being quite sure of how to answer that. It was then when she was distracted by a young gryffindor asking about death eaters. Noting Professor Branxton's response, she decided she needed to take extra steps to make sure that things ran smoothly and without hitch. She turned her attention back at the new Professor. "So what is your area of expertise?", she asked. |

Hazelle took a sip of pumpkin juice from her goblet, "How long have you been teaching here?" she asked. |

"So what motivated you to become a Professor?", she asked Hazelle. |

She looked around the hall and turned back to Virosha, "I've noticed that some children take things for granted, that everything as it is. I want to give them an appreciation for all that we have." |

Rae turned back to the students, realizing how she'd asked the students to settle down and had then proceeded to ignore them. She cleared her throat and raised her hands again. With a clap, she had the students' attention, and Rae smiled warmly at all the eager young faces. "Good evening! For all of our newly sorted students, welcome to Hogwarts. We hope you will make yourselves and home and feel free to seek out assistance from older students in your house and any staff member. For returning students, we welcome you home to Hogwarts. I can speak for the staff when I say we've missed you over the summer... the school isn't the same without you. "We have some new faces up here at the staff table as well. I'd like to introduce Professor Wenlock in Arithmancy, Professor Craft in Divination, and Professor Belle in Astronomy. Please show them the utmost respect and help them become acclimated to our fair school. I'd like to welcome back Healer Numel after her brief sabbatical. And I'd like to announce that while many of you may have read my wedding announcement in the Daily Prophet, I will still be going by Professor Rae in my classes. To avoid confusion," she smiled at Doyle. "Speaking of the Daily Prophet, I know some of you have probably read about Voldemortist's escape. Be assured that we as a staff are taking care of security precautions around the school. We're also dealing with the Book of Mysteria, which is Voldemortist's only interest in this school. It will be gone one way or another by the end of this term. "Remember to stay out of the Forbidden Forests, and I look forward to an intense house point competition. First years... older students will help you figure out how to earn points. The house cup is at stake, as always. Quidditch sign-ups will occur soon enough, and classes shall commence in a few days. Now... eat, drink, and be merry. Or... as merry as you can be without food flying through the air." She clapped again, and the tables filled. With a flourish, Rae sank into her seat. |

Mr. Thorn set aside his goblet respectively and focused his full attention to Headmistress Rae as she began her speech. At the mention of the new Staff, he clapped his hands lightly and gave a smile to the three and later gave a sigh of relief at the mention of the BoM being whisked away from the school by the end of the term, and at Rae's mention of flying food he gave a small chuckle remembering last year’s food fight all to well. Previously not realizing how hungry he was, he loaded up is plate and 'dug in'. |
AJ walked up to the table and headed strait for the nurse with Pheobe trailing behind. |
