Brittany was sitting at her house table doing nothing so she decided that she would get up and find out when the feast was going to be over. |

Mr. Thorn shook his head gently to relieve his mind of its hypnotic reverie and glanced silently about the table which was now considerably fuller then when he had arrived. He reached out for his goblet and drank deeply from it before taking notice of an odd man sitting in the Headmistress' seat whom he eyed curiously. Deciding it wasn't any of his business why the man insisted upon sitting in Rae’s seat he returned to his drink although his eyes occasionally flickered to the strange man. He raised his right eyebrow as he heard some of what he was saying to Professor Braxton and had to battle off a fit of laughter that threatened to escape him. |

Headmistress Rae burst into the Great Hall and stalked towards the staff table. She was very conscious of how she swished her robes around her feet as she climbed onto the dias. Once there, her gaze immediately found her husband, who received a thoughtful frown, and Mr. Borr, who received a glare. With complete lack of aplomb, Rae approached the man in her seat, poked his shoulder, and said, "Up. Now." |
"Oh look who has decided to grace us with her presence. Good for you." Lord Borr made no movement. "Your other half and I were just discussing how frivolous marriage truly was for those of us that are important in society. You should join us." Lord Borr patted his stomach as he spoke, then slid his hands underneath his suspenders. |
"Yes, it sounds fascinating, but if you'll be so kind... I need my seat. I have a brief speech to give before the children can eat. Wouldn't you like to EAT, Mr. Borr?" She snapped his suspender slightly and tilted her head sweetly. Her smile was completely forced and he was about three seconds away from being flat on the floor. |
Lord Borr heaved a heavy, heavy sigh as he attempted to stand. "Very well. But perhaps next time being punctual won't cause confusion on where everyone is to sit. I do not see your scrawny little name on this chair." Lord Borr rolled his eyes as high as possible and stood. The chair stuck with him for a few seconds before landing loudly back on the floor. Lord Borr huffed as he went to find another seat at the end of the table. One day, that Rae would be gone and he would be putting in for the Headmaster job. And he'd get it too. One day. "Pass down my cane!" He yelled, plopping down again in another chair. |
"You should be thankful he was there, Headmistress," Opteryx quipped cheerily. "He kept your seat warm for you, after all. It's not everyday someone is...curtious enough to do something like that, right, Lord Borr?" |
Professor Virohsa looked towards Lainey and Hazelle. Quickly judging by the look on her, she decided it would be safe enough to extend cordialities. "Good evening", she nodded as she shook the woman's hand. "Mind you if I ask where you come from?", she inquired trying to sound polite. |
"Do not pass his cane," Rae warned Lainey with a grin before she stepped around to stand in front of her chair. "You're correct, Professor Opteryx. I was too hard on the generous humanitarian that is Mr. Borr. I do wish you all would stop humoring him by calling him Lord." She cleared her throat and raised her hands, waiting for the children to subside in their chattering. As the calmed, she looked over at her friend and Deputy Head. "Anj... my husband stole my shoes!" |
On his way to the center of the table, Matthias realized he was just in time to congratulate not only the groom, but the bride as well, as she arrived as number 12. Numbers 11 and 12... They were 7 and 8 as well.... Interesting. "Congratulations on your wedding!" he said aloud to the couple as he approached them. "Did you know that you were consecutive again? 7, 8, 11, 12. hahahahaha," he laughed, "I'll have to calculate what that could mean." |
Professor Virohsa immediately frowned. Shoes could be used in a powerful spell to hex tha ability of a person's intuition, as well as ability to run away from danger. She looked at Professor Branxton warily. "I think it is time to settle down and get the Headmistress' shoes back", she said rather harshly to no one person in particular. After all, she didn't want anyone hexing the Headmistress.... just in case, her wand was needed once more. |

She blinked as the Headmistress seemed it important to announce that her husband had stolen her shoes. She did her best to not look under the table. |
Lainey looked startled when Rae called her name. She waited for Rae to say something more.... but it didn't come. Apparently, she was to say something. "I .. er....," Lainey lowered her voice," Do you want my shoes? Or to hex him?" Lainey stared. |
Professor Light skuttled in the room... skuttle was really a good word to describe it, because her attempts at being inconspicous about her late arrival were pretty... bad. She had already tripped over a frightened first year when she turned around and began walking backwards to the table to quickly wave to one of her older students. So much for slinking in unnoticed... Professor Light finally made it up to the table... that walk from her office has never seemed so long, but it seemed like everyone was too busy looking at the headmistress and a fatter man. No matter... Professor Light took an open seat, and took a few deep breaths to stop her adrenaline... |
Matthias observed as number 13 took her seat at the table. How unfortunate for her. He'd have to give her his condolences. |
Professor Virohsa looked at the newcomer with curiosity. Hiding her suspicions, she decided to answer. "I have worked at the Ministry all of my life. Nothing too exciting". Of course, she was not to just about give a stranger a detailed account of the auror and unspeakables activities. After all, there had been a vow of secrecy that had to remain kept. "You, however, have been all over the place. How come? Are you a writer?", she inquired even more. |

"What brought you to Hogwarts? The joy of teaching children?" Hazelle thought that it was probably due to the dull paper pushing, but didn't wish to say so, just in case this woman actually enjoyed that aspect of Ministry work. |
Doyle looked at his wife in confusion. Stole her shoes? What use did he have for her shoes? They were much too small for him, not to mention, women's shoes. He'd merely put them away where they belonged. Ah... that was it. They'd been having some trouble lately because he kept putting things in their proper places. It seemed those were the exact last places Cassandra seemed to look for things. "I do apologize," he said, formerly, taking off his glasses as he became aware of those staring at him. "I merely placed them in the bottom of your wardrobe." |
Rae's mouth formed a perfect o-shape and she turned red. "You put them away?" She gave a sort of half laugh before giving Lainey the 'I'm so dumb' look. "I couldn't find them." With a little jerk of her robe, she showed Lainey and Doyle her bare feet. "I'm sorry." She smiled at Matthias, although she had no idea what he was on about. He had been interesting to interview and hire, but he'd yet to tell her anything she understood. "This is from you?" She pointed at the gift. |
Matthias beamed at the Headmistress as she noticed his gift, "it is," he said proudly, "I'm sorry I missed your reception," he said more softly, "bad encounter with a 6, you know how it is." |
Alexandra walked up to the head table and curtisied to the professors. "Hello, Professors. I hope you are enjoying your night so far." She said as she smiled. "Congratualtions on the wedding." She said as she smiled at the Headmistress and her husband. |
Jacques made his way up to the staff table in between courses. He stopped in front of the Headmistress and his Head of House and Bowed low. When he rose, he spoke. "Congratulations on your marriage Professors. I 'ope you 'ave a wonderful life together" he smiled at them both, and some of the other professors he recognised at the table, bowed again, winked at Professor Lainey and made his way back to the Slytherin table for dessert. |
Candice walked casually up to the staff tale. " im a first year but id like to say congrats on the wedding!" and she proudly marched off. |
